I hope someone can help me.
My wife and I will be traveling to Los Angeles from Pennsylvania with a 1 year old. It's going to be a long flight and I do not want to do a 'lap child'.

Does anyone know what airlines offer 50% off tickets to children under 2 in carseats?
I know United does.
Any other..
Delta?
US Air?

Thank you in advance.

Don't forget, it's 50% off the standard rate (think highest priced fare) plus taxes, security and airport fees, etc... If you've gotten a "deal" on your other airfare you may be suprised what that 50% actually costs you. For a good friend who was traveling CLE-LAX_HNL it was quoted as MORE than what she was to pay. Needless to say, she purchased two adult fares and let them keep their 50%!

Delta Song does.... I would guess regular Delta does as well.

I think American does NOT discount for infants.

Both delta and delta song offer 50% off tickets for infants.

Thanks! I will be most likely traveling with Delta, because my employer is making my travel arrangements. They only deal with certain airlines.
They are also only paying for my ticket. :confused3

This wasn't ever my experience. Maybe things have changed in the last year. Ours were always 50% off the adult fare we were purchasing at the same time. This was on NW and AA.

Don't know if it is an option with you employer making some of the arrangements but we used to fly from Philadelphia into John Wayne/Orange County Airport and saved a bunch of money, not to mention avoiding all the confusion and traffic around LAX, priceless.

Yes it is an option, But AVP is right in my backyard, I mean I am a few blocks from the airport. So I can get dropped off and not have to worry about parking.
That will save me alot of hassle.

American Airlines also offers the "infant seat" for 50% of the regular cost. We never had a problem booking an infant seat for our DS when he was under 2. Only once was it nor available on a flight we wanted, so we just took the next flight & it was available. And we fly A LOT with DS.

We will be purchasing all of the airfare for two of us (company airfare for my husband thankfully)...plus airfare for our nephew, his fiance' and their 19-month old. He doesn't feel comfortable without her strapped in her carseat for the trip, so they would like a seat purchased for her also. To get the "child" discount, can you still book it online, or do you have to call the airline to do it? I haven't seen anywhere online with any of the airlines...so I'm assuming I'll need to call them. They'll be flying from Pittsburgh so they'll have several flight options but....I'll be the one doing the research and paying for it! I was hoping to get a Southwest DING flight but nothing up for May yet, plus we do need certain flight times due to work schedules. Thanks for any help...or any suggestions!!!!

laginog001 - for a child discount you need to call the airline to get the child discount. At least with Delta that's the case - I don't fly any other airline so :dunno

We only ever flew airtran and we bought the ticket at the counter, we had booked ours over the phone, or online, can't remember now. I want to say I found them online, called to ask about infant, and he told me to book online for the cheapest price then just buy at counter for baby. They made it about 1/4 of the cost of our tickets, but then again we had to buy the tickets for us at super high prices, night before.
