I have given up trying to get a H&V Fantasmic package for Feb. 2, which is my twin's 6th birthday, so I was wondering what you think...

Late lunch at Sci Fi or 50"s Prime Time Cafe?

I have 4 children 9,7, and thetwins. I decided we would make it a birthday lunch so that we would't have to rush to get on line for Fantasmic.

Either one should be a great hit with the kids.

Personally, PTC is one of my favorite restaurants on property, it's fun and the comfort food is great for me. You can't go wrong with the fried chicken and peanut butter & jelly milkshake, followed immediately by a triple bypass.

But Sci-Fi is also fun with the movie trailers and the unique seating.

Adults will like 50's better; kids will like Sci Fi.

If you are wanting to do a celebration lunch with anything at the table tho, you would not want to do Sci Fi are you are seated two by two there rather than at a group table.

I was just going to say this. I really liked 50's but my son just LOVED Sci-Fi. With 50's , I wanted to go a second time on our last trip, but he didn't want to go back a second time, he liked it but not enough to go a second time. But everytime we went to DHS he would ask if we were going to Sci-Fi again, then when we would walk near there "when are we going there again". I liked Sci-Fi and would definately go back on our next visit, but I would probably go to 50's if I had to choose just one, my son would choose Sci-Fi twice if we even had the choice to go to both, he would want to go to Sci-Fi the second time and not go to 50's.

I guess I'm just a big (29) kid LOL ;) I LOVE Sci Fi I just think it is so much fun and very relaxing sitting under the stars watching movies in those cars. Plus, I love hamburgers and milkshakes. DH had never been before. So, I ordered a cake before hand for his birthday. They brought it out and got all the servers and diners to sing him happy birthday and gave him a card! He LOVED it!!

I do love 50's too however have not been in several years. I just like Sci Fi a little better!

To us, Prime Time is more of a dinner restaurant and Sci-Fi fits more with lunch plans. That being said, our kids, 9 &11, loved both places. They have to pick one each trip and there is always an argument as to where to go.

50's Prime Time gets my vote. We love it there and the food is good too.
Have a Great Trip

Both have great atmosphere, but the food at 50's Prime Time is much better.

We didn'tgo to 50's PT but I was talking to someone on a bus and they said it was really bad. They wished they hadn't wasted their credits there.

We've been to 50's Prime Time, and it was fun, but my kids don't want to go back. We've never been to Sci-Fi, but we are going there on our next trip- which is only 23 days away!!!:cool1:

I think I am going to stick with my Sci Fi ADR. Thanks for all your input!

Sci-fi is a good choice. My kids want to go there every trip now.:thumbsup2

Speaking of Sci-fi...does anyone know if you order the burger for dinner, is it the same price as on the lunch menu? We have always gone for lunch but may do a dinner there this time. TIA

If you want a peaceful meal I would choose Sci-fi.
Didn't care for all the annoying play acting to the
point where you can't even enjoy your food at 50's prime time.
Could not wait to get out of that place.
We had an enjoyable quite meal at Sci-fi--loved the atmosphere
and our server was so nice and accomadating.
My DS and his BBF love the Vintage styled Cars
and the B-rated Sci-fi movie clips.
We had a fun time.

We were able to order Veggie Burgers for Dinner without any problems,
I'm sure there wouldn't be a problem in order regular burgers.

We love Sci Fi. In 13 trips to WDW, its the one and only place we have been to each time. My kids love the place and I love the fact its quiet. I can just sit and enjoy my meal and the corny movie flicks. Its always pretty quiet in there, everyone old and young is riveted to the screen!

50's is another one we really like. However, if you have any members of your party who don't like to play antics with the servers, skip it. My kids do, but I have seen people who are clearly not enjoying the atmosphere and they always have thsi deer in the headlights look, fearing they are about to be called out! Not all servers get into the roll, and probably if you tell them to please back off a bit, they would. I just know not to take my inlaws there because I know they would hate that type of thing.

And if you go at dinner and want a burger don't despair, although burgers are not on the dinner menu, they always make one for me and I have heard many other people say the same thing. I love their burgers! And they are the same price as they are at lunch. No idea why they don't just include them on the dinner menu.

I'd go to 50s Prime Time Cafe. The atmosphere is great. You could have a really good time if your server is funny. Great place to have fun but if you're looking for a more low-key meal..this isn't it. ;)
