Has anyone used or put together a menu for your reception that cost you $50 or less a per person??
Any ideas or information is greatly appreciated!!!
thanks :goodvibes

i would say that would be difficult at a disney wedding. But I am not sure about buffet costs either. If you cut out cocktail hour and dessert maybe. My costs with cocktail hr, and cake are about 75 for the cheapest..being pasta.

Arent all of the food minimums per guest $75 or more depending on where you have it? I dont recall seeing anywhere that was under this amount....?

Depending on what time you want to have your reception. I believe there is a brunch that is about $55.00 per person. Not sure what it includes - especially as far as drinks are concerned. We are hoping to have a brunch with maybe just a champane punch or memosia's, juice, coffee, tea and soda. Not sure how much this will bring the price up.

im sorry i guess i didnt make what i was saying really clear.
we did cut out the cocktail hour and dessert for the reception menu.
we are having an open bar, which what we picked was about $25 a person, plus cake counts as food min so our cake is almost $13 a person, but our menu alone is 70 a person
so we will be ok with the bar and cake to make the min
i am just looking at cutting the actual dinner part a person down from 70.
does this make sense?? :confused3

I know what you mean! My minimum is $100 per person as it is an evening reception.
I too have an open bar and cake so i want to keep my actual dinner part lower.

I dont have any prices yet as i dont have any menus but i know you can change any menu to suit your requirements (within reason).

We are going to have a plated dinner and offer our guests a choice of 3 appetizers and 3 entrees that way we can keep the cost down. We are not having dessert as we are having a dessert party a few hours after but some pople use their wedding cake as a dessert!

If you are talking just food--not beverage, cake, pre-reception food, etc...I think it can be done. However, as the other girls have noted, it depends on the minimums of your location. Some locations have per person minimums and some have just dollar total minimums. However, I think dftw requires $100 per person minimum--but this includes ALL your food/beverage. I did my dinner (only--no drinks included here) for $50 per person...then there was the drinks, the cocktail hour, the dessert, etc...
