50 expiring points

I have 50 points that are going to expire the end of August. I can't use them. I know I can rent them buy I'd rather have the points in the future. Is there anyway around this? Was thinking I can rent mine and then use the money to do a point transfer( if it's even available). Seems like a lot of work. Ideas? Suggestions?

This looks like the best option. Just make sure that the points you have transferred into your account are bankable. To make it less confusing try to keep it to the same UY and even possibly the same resort.

I assume these are points that have already been banked or borrowed?

If the points will disappear at the end of August, then I would definitely rent them out and then use the proceeds to either rent part of a reservation for yourself in the future, or buy transferred points in the future. If you do this, then at least you aren't losing the value of your points and you are just getting equal value in the future with the money. To rent your 50 points and complete someone's reservation, you *may* have to borrow some points from upcoming UY, or otherwise you might have a few straggling points out of the 50. Or, you could be lucky and find a reservation for someone for exactly 50 points.

Maybe you could make a reservation with your 50 points (plus a few if needed) and post it on the rent/trade board as a confirmed reservation. People are always looking for confirmed reservations on short notice. Well, we are.

Ok great thanks everyone. How do I give and receive payment when renting/transferring etc? I'm new at this. Personal checks?
