Hi Everyone!!

I'm counting down the very long days until my 2nd trip to WDW and I've decided that to help pass the time I'm going to challenge myself to watch all 50 Disney animated movies. I thought that I had watched most of them but after seeing the list I'm not sure that I've really seen that many of them. :confused3

I'm going to watch them in order and I started with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. :) I was sure that I had watched this movie before but I'm not sure that I have. There are so many wonderful parts that I don't remember ever seeing. I really enjoyed it.

Any one out there want to join in with me and watch all 50 movies in order?

Up next.....Pinocchio :happytv:

I'm a stay at home mom and I've started letting my 17 month old watch Disney cartoons. Your plan sounds like a good one! Not that he sits still and watches them, but he watches any part with a song! :dance3:

There are lots of cute songs in Snow White. I love the Hi Ho songs the dwarfs sing.

I just took the Princess challenge on the special features and discovered that I am most like Aurora. :cutie:

Thats a great idea, wish I lived in London. What film are they upto? I'd love to see the Little Mermaid in the cinema :lovestruc

That's quite an undertaking, but sounds like fun! I've seen 33 of the 50 and most of those many times over. I love Disney movies! Good luck on your challenge!

I've seen 36 out of 50 . It's such a great idea I will have to put them on my list to watch

What a cool challenge! I might consider doing this leading up to my ABD trip this summer. :)

I've seen all of them except for numbers 6-10. And I can't remember if I've seen The Black Cauldron or not. Oh, and I just realized I haven't seen Dinosaur. Not sure I've seen those early ones (6-10) out on DVD even. :confused3

I've only missed 5. Two movies, though, only count as half watched.
Halved:Treasure Planet. Watched half of it and felt it was meh, so I went to do something else. Same with Atlantis.

Missed 44, 45, 47, 49, 50

Thanks!! I have six months before my trip so I think that I can get them all in....I hope :thumbsup2 I know that I'm going to be giving my Netflix account a workout over the next few months :rotfl:

I'll keep you posted on how I'm doing. I'm enjoying it already. I watched Snow White last night and I got Pinocchio in the mail from Netflix yesterday. :goodvibes

Hopefully I can find them all on DVD. I guess I'll soon find out. :rotfl:

We own 25 or so of them, including the first 7. I was thinking of doing Netflix this summer anyway so maybe I'll have to wait and see if the ones I'm missing are available. I might check our library too. since my husband works really long hours we should be able to do one every day or couple of days. Our next trip is a little more than 100 days away so it's a good way to pass the really hot southern summer!

I just put in snow white and so far my little one is mesmerized. Of course it's close to nap time so that helps!

I can confidently say I've seen 49 - some how I've missed Home on the Range and my DH keeps pushing it down on Netflix.

We own 39 on Disney DVD as well... here's what we're missing:

14 Peter Pan (1953)
21 Robin Hood (1973)
25 The Black Cauldron (1985)
33 Pocahontas (1995)
34 The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996)
39 Dinosaur (2000)
43 Treasure Planet (2002)
45 Home on the Range (2004)
48 Bolt (2008)
49 The Princess and the Frog (2009)
50 Tangled (2010)

And somehow we own two Three Caballeros... random... I think we got an extra when we purchased Saludos Amigos.

It was Sword in the Stone this weekend, I saw Sleeping Beauty a few weekends a go, which was lots of fun! Fully intend to see the Lion King when I can!

Ones I haven't seen:

6 Saludos Amigos (1942)
8 Make Mine Music (1946)
9 Fun and Fancy Free (1947)
10 Melody Time (1948) (I have it on DVD, I plan to watch it this weekend)
11 The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (1949)
22 The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977) No longer!! I watched it on YouTube this afternoon!
The Rescuers
26 The Great Mouse Detective (1986)
29 The Rescuers Down Under (1990)
41 Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001)
43 Treasure Planet (2002)
45 Home on the Range (2004)
48 Bolt (2008) (I have it on DVD, but I never finished it! I will try again soon!)

Most of the others I have on DVD

Thanks for this thread! I'm shocked to say I've seen 45 out of 50!

The leftovers are:

6 Saludos Amigos (1942)
7 The Three Caballeros (1944)
27 Oliver & Company (1988)
45 Home on the Range (2004)
47 Meet the Robinsons (2007)

And I think I've seen *either* Saludos Amigos or the Three Caballeros but not both. So that would get me up to 46/50. A lot of the 1940s ones (the ones that are made up of musical shorts) I saw in bits and pieces in my elementary school music classes in the early 1980s!

I didn't see "Song of the South" on that list. Has Disney revised its history to forget that it was a theatrical release?

I saw SotS at its very last theater release. I know it's not available on DVD, at least here in the U.S., and I've read that it will never be released because it's not politically correct, but to not include it in a list of all animated movies?

How Fun!

Great minds think alike. My daughter & I will be taking my mom for her first visit next January. 30+ weeks away.
As a fun treat for the three of us we are watching one move every Saturday until the trip.

We started with 101 Dalmatians.
For next weekend, I asked my mom to bring a picture of herself from 1961.

I am sending mom "Mickey Mail" (emails)
Please walk for ten minutes today.
Love,
Mickey
