We’ve eaten at Sci-Fi, Mama Melrose & Hollywood Brown Derby. We really don’t have a desire to do Hollywood & Vine. I would like to try 50’s, but the antics scare me. We like to enjoy a good meal in the air conditioning, but not sure any of us want to spend it standing in the corner. Lol. I need honest opinions...how did you like your 50’s experience if you’re more of an introvert? And if I’ve missed any must try restaurants in or near HS, please let me know!

Granted it's been a few years since I ate there, but the antics weren't over the top for me. The server razzed my friend a little for not finishing his vegetables, but that's about it. I think they do a good job of reading how "into it" a group is before trying to do something over the top. Also, they can't make you cooperate, and so if you don't want to stand in the corner, just refuse. Of course, to me playing along would be part of the fun, but if you don't want to then there is no real need. Then again, the food's not that special that I'd worry about going and not getting the antics. It was good, but not amazing or anything.

We are definitely introverts, and we eat there every trip (I go for their gluten-free fried chicken). We usually get the standard "no elbow on the table speech" and a bit of sass, but have never been made to do anything we would find uncomfortable. We smile and chuckle politely but don't egg the servers on and I think they pick up on the fact that we are there for the food and not the show.

We are pretty much friendly introverts. We were just there for the first time this week. Our waitress was very nice. She had a bit of a screechy voice that worked well with her “mom” persona. She didn’t play any antics...just told my DD (11) to get off her phone. It was said in a joking way and my dd did not get off her phone..lol.

I didn’t see or hear any noticeable antics anywhere around us.

That being said, I didn’t really care for the place. Our table was boring. We were not lucky enough to get a table with a TV. The decor was cool, but other places are way better. The food was just ok. Like you, I wanted to try someplace different as we had done the others. Glad we did to cure my curiosity. It’s a one and done for us.

Now I’m wondering if it’s even worth the try! Lol. It’s never appealed to me much, so maybe I’m just trying to force it.

Last time we were there, they force fed my mother in law, which was hilarious. They left my nephew alone once they realized that he didn't like the interaction from a stranger. Our server seemed in tune to everyone's social preferences.

Worst case, if it gets a little silly, just politely ask the server that you're all set and would rather not participate.
