5 year old twin boys....take a stroller or not?

I would save the money and have them walk, they will be fine and it is much less hassle to not have one.

What is the average amount of miles that a typical person does at WDW per day - something like 5-10 miles per day or more....Get the stroller, IMO vacation is about the comfort of everyone including the small kids. We got strollers well beyond what some Disers felt was an acceptable age, but it allowed us to tour the way we wanted to without reducing the kids to exhausted messes. These were healthy athletic children but Disney is tiring. Those kids are still coming back with us 15 years later and I'd like to believe that is partly because their experiences were positive.
Have fun!

Rent. It's like 120/week or something small like that. When my twins were 5 we needed the stroller daily. When they were 6 it was only for long park days.

We took my son at 4, 5, and are taking him this year at 6. We have never needed a stroller. My son is active and walks/runs a lot. He never seemed to tire out, and if he did we took a small break (great time for lunch, snack, dinner). To be honest, I can't imagine trying to keep up with a stroller in crowds, find it after a ride, etc. We do carry a backpack with anything we might need.

I'd say rent one for sure. My brother has two boys that are a pinch older than yours. Stroller was a life saver... gave the kids some place to rest and sit down when they needed to. Also if we were in a pinch and needed to get some place a little quicker for whatever reason we were able to get them there a lot faster. At age 5 i'd say you would be definitely regret not getting one.

My DS4 (5 in Dec) has not used a stroller at home since he was just over two, but we will still be bringing it for our October trip. In addition to getting tired out after a long day, I think it makes it much easier to keep track of him in the crowds of the airport and park. Our other two kids are older, so it also allows us to move much more quickly through the parks. We have only stayed at Epcot and MK resorts so we do not use the bus often. If we were staying at a resort that required using a bus to go everywhere I might reconsider.

we'll have a rental car so I was figuring just leaving it in the trunk the whole week and just taking it out when needed...we usually take afternoon park breaks so i figure it would only be needed at night to stay late for MH or for the fireworks etc.

All good points tho thank you everyone!

I say it depends on the park. MK doesn't have that much walking and it's annoying to park the stroller all the time, so when we go there with the kid (she was 2.5 last time) we don't bring it - or if we do, we just use it to walk down Main Street and park it in Fantasyland. But Epcot is huuuuuge, so definitely a stroller there. The other two parks, YMMV. We might try an Ergo instead (doesn't really work for twins though!).

I took my 5 year boy/girl twins and didn't bring a stroller but it's really up to you on how you want to do it. We made sure to take lots of breaks when they got tired and went back to the room at least once during the afternoon. They sure did sleep well at night though!

We haven't had a stroller in a quite a few years now, but we're looking at renting one for our upcoming trip. We plan on spending time outside wdw too so a 3rd party rental would be ideal. Anyone have experience with them? Our boys are quite tall, wearing size 8 and 6 clothes even though they're 4 and 5 years old. I don't want to bother with a stroller and then it not fit them anyway. Advice?
