We will be at Epcot in April for my daughter's 5th Birthday. We are not staying on Disney property. Is there anything special at the park that can be done for her Birthday? We have reservations for a character dinner that night, but don't want to miss out on any fun things that would make her feel extra special.

Stop at Guest Relations the first time you get into the park and get a "It's my birthday" button for her - the CMs will personalize it with her name, and have her wear it the whole stay. Usually you'll get some kind of pixie dust here and there, but it's also REALLY nice just to have so many CMs and guests wishing her a happy birthday on her whole trip.

(My ODD and my birthdays are a week apart, so we usually end up at WDW - She wore her birthday button all week, I wore mine only on the actual day, but then wore an "I'm celebrating" button the rest of the time - we got birthday cupcakes at Crystal Palace (for breakfast, oy!) and a card signed by all the characters there; on Kali River Rapids they let us ride twice (and more if we wanted to) without going through the line; and various CMs gave my daughter little toys throughout our stay - glowing ice cubes, glowing Tinkerbell, all the little toy things they put in the specialty drinks, etc. She was beaming. As for me, it was surprisingly nice to hear so many people genuinely wishing me a happy birthday.)

Where are your reservations for the character dinner at? Many places you can order a cake in advance and at certain locations you can have cinderellas slipper delivered, which is probably the most affordable. I'm going for my DD's 4th at the end of April and plan on having the slipper delivered to her at our dinner. I also made a reservation at the wonderland tea party for her

The cake chatter thread lists all the options for speciality cakes at the various restaurants in the world. Besides the Happy Birthday pin, you could get birthday mouse ears or a birthday themed princess hat (Etsy has some great ones) to help identify it's her birthday to CMS.

Definitely get a birthday button for her...a lot of times the cast members will give you free treats and lots of people will tell her Happy Birthday. You can order a cake to have at the restaurant and usually the restaurant will bring a free birthday cupcake. Most character meals will give her a birthday card signed by the characters at the restaurant. Hope you guys have so much fun!!
