I'm looking to book a resort for next June. It will be me, Dh and four boys ages 16, 12, 5 and 2. Since the youngest is two he doesn't count right? Where can we/would you stay?

All of the deluxe resorts will accomadate 5. With the ages of your boys, and your going in June, I'd pick POR as a moderate resort. You can get trundle bed, and they have great pool. I guess it depends on how much you want to spend for room whether you go deluxe or moderate. I don't believe any of the value resorts will hold 5. You could always get two connecting rooms at a value resort too! This way you have 2 bathrooms.

I had this same dilemna as I will be traveling in a pack of 5 people next time. I chose 2 adjoining rooms at the All Star Sports. I looked into 1 room at the Poly but with 2 adjoining rooms I will have 2 bathrooms as 3 of the people in my group are teenagers. If you are budget minded 2 rooms at the values is still lesser that 1 room anywhere else beside POR, I believe that would be a few dollars cheaper. Plus my 2 sons loved Sports the last time we went.

I don't think that is right. Values fit four people.........you have 5 plus a child in a crib, right? So you would need two rooms at a Value resort.

Or one room at POR. Boy, that would be tight!

We have 5 and we squeeze into the deluxes (except WL and AKL) just fine--but I think any of the others would be too tight. We did WL when we were 4 and I don't think we could have added even a 2 year old to that room. Some rooms in the BC are particularly large and the Poly rooms are spacious too.

If you have 5, plus an under 2, you can't stay in a value resort. You would have 2 people on the very small floor. Even 6 in POR is tight.

We also have four children and have stayed in both the cabins at FW and two connecting rooms at moderates and deluxes. We have also stayed at deluxes in one room that slept five when the oldest didn't travel with us. I would definately choose two connecting rooms. Having the extra room to spread out and putting the younger ones to bed in one room while you are still up in the other is great, not be mention TWO BATHROOMS!

There are 5 of us...myself, DH, DS 13, DS 9 and DD 17 months. We're doing 2 connecting rooms at POP for 6 nights, and then 1 room at AKL for 5 nights. This way we get to see which we like better!! We're going in Jan of 2006, and got a great package rate for the POP stay, and then a AAA rate for AKL.

I opted for one room at YC last week for the 5 of us instead of 2 connecting at a mod. We've been to WDW alot, and even stayed at YC before kids, but just didn't realize how noisy our boys are when they sleep! The youngest snored, the oldest talked in his sleep. The middle one was so restless all night kicking the covers off, then getting them back.

Altho I don't regret being at YC--the boys LOVED SAG and great location---next time we're going with 2 rooms!

I'm glad you got back to us! we are doing the 2 room thing for the first 6 nights. we love our kids, but it's our turn for vacation too Besides I;d love to come home with a "live souvenier" growing inside of me, and no way can that happen with the kids in our room. I just wish for the second half of our stay we could afford more than just the one room at AKL!!

Just wanted you to know at Disney you need to request "Connecting" rooms not adjoining, if you want the door between the two rooms. Adjoining would be side by side without a common door.

i will echo all the recommendations for two rooms at a value or a mod (if it's w/in your price range)... imo it's the way to go! we did both our last trip (9 nights at POFQ, one night at a universal resort/one room, and two nights at AKL bunkbed room) and the two rooms was sooooooo much better for everyone involved... besides the add'l bathroom, there's also the issue of the second tv... now, i know people do not go to wdw to watch tv, but it's nice to fall asleep to the show of your choice, rather than arguing about what to watch... kids/disney channel & dh/weather channel... ahhhhh!

DVC's allow 5 in a one bedroom with a sofa sleeper in the LR> They are at deluxe resorts. Try rent/trade board . The are wonderful and many times you an get a good rae here. Wonerful master suite too.

I think that they only allow 5 if you rent from an owner. If you book it outright from WDW, then they only allow 4. I don't quite understand it, but that's what I read on here. I'm sure someone from DVC can correct me if I'm wrong.

I think the rule is 4, but DVC(or whoever in charge there taking the info for the exchange) "allows" the fifth person, or 3rd child, whatever..........isn't that what I've read?

You are in the same boat we are (2 adults & 4 kids - 11,9,8,2). We just were OK at POR, but it was tight. This year we are going with 2 rooms. More privacy and maybe some peace too.

If you have the money, go with a delux or home away from home. If not, POR is an excellent choice.

if you rent from a DVC owner,the owner is allowed to request that 5 people be allowed in a one bedrooom and it is a very lovely accomodation.

We are DVC but no points to rent. We do not even have points to take a vacation. right now , we are thinking about renting for a quick vacation.

But if you have six, you will need a two bedroom. You can't have five PLUS one more in a one bedroom.
