Lately I've been seeing posts that say it is OK to have 5 people in a 1 bedroom unit. Has something changed? I always thought that 4 people were maximum for a 1 bedroom and this is why I had to add on because we wanted to take my daughter and her husband (making our group 5).

The formal occupancy limit is four plus one child under the age of 3 (in pack-and-play). The 1Bs have one King bed and a sleeper-sofa, and thus are not equipped to sleep more than 4 individuals.

This thread may become locked, since room occupancy limits generate a lot of heated debate here.

For the record, Disney indicates that the capacity of a Studio or 1BR is 4 people plus a child under the age of 3. So that's where the five people comes in.

A 2BR probably works much better for you anyway if you're bringing a couple with you on most trips. :)

To answer your question - has anything changed - the answer is no, the occupancy limit on a 1BR is 4 persons plus an infant under the age of 3.

Now as Granny stated, this thread is being locked. The discussion of whether or not it is okay to exceed the stated occupancy limits has been banished to the debate board.
