5-Night Wonder Double Dip Delight Aug 8-13th

Nice TR! I loved it. We sail in November and I have been obsessing over the boards. So glad you had fun.

Edited to add: GREAT pictures!

That was an amazing TR, thanks for sharing your memories! Your pictures were outstanding, your daughter is beautiful and it looks like you had a fabulous time!

Congrats on your Jan trip!!! :woohoo:

Great trip report. Sounds like you had a wonderful time. Your DH took some beautiful photos as well. I really liked your FE - did you make it?

We're taking that same January Magic cruise, maybe we'll see you there!

I had no idea all three ships were going to be there at the same time, that would be great to see.

I really appreciated reading your double dip report. Thanks for taking the time to do it!

Thanks.

The FE was a group effort. My DW did the sewing and I did the cutting/ironing of the designs.

Finally got through all your updates. What a great trip report! That FE is amazing!!! Your pictures are gorgeous, too.

Oh, and the food porn... simply awesome. Thank you!

Fantastic trip report. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your vacation with us. I really felt like I was there with you guys. The photos are amazing. What a talent your DH has.

Incredible trip report! Thank you so much for all your hard work putting it together! We are cruising in mid Jan on Magic with a 2 3/4 year old and this helped immensely! I was thinking we wouldn't make it to the Pirate party but it looks like we can try to push her. :) And you are VERY lucky to have a little girl who eats variety! I'm hoping to get DD to eat more than mac and cheese, grilled cheese and chicken nuggets but Jan! :) Thanks again!!!

Thanks :) We have had DD eating variety since she could eat solids. She just eats what we eat/what I cook; I don't make something different for her. But, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, as my Mom tells me I used to order the "salad bar and a Tab" when I was growing up!

We can't wait until the Jan trip - especially since DD doesn't know!! She thinks we have to wait over a year until our next one ;)

That FE was a lot of blood, sweat, and tears :lmao: The 4th pocket is blank until we know what will go on the bow of the Fantasy....

Very kind words. Perhaps I will do one on the next cruise!

I am glad that you enjoyed reading it!!

Thanks so much for sharing your adventure.
Your pictures are beautiful...I am even more excited now.

I really, really enjoyed your trip report. Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed report. It got me excited about doing this cruise with my family. Your daughter is precious and your husband is a talented photographer.

Just a couple of questions: How long did you usually have to wait in line to get photos or autographs with the characters? Did you find that there were certain times or events where the lines were the shortest?

I hope we have just as much fun on our Jan cruise :goodvibes

Thanks so much :cutie: To answer your question, we don't do autographs. The lines were super quick. Nothing at all like the parks! I would say from end of line to end of photo, ~ 5-10 minutes. There was one exception, the Princesses. That line was a little longer, maybe 15-20min. None of the lines seemed any different to us in length. I have heard that the later times (after 9-9:30pm) have shorter lines, but our DD was in bed, so we didn't check those out.

Great TR and photos. Wish we had another booked like you do.

Now, I will not divulge my secret, but by some pixie dust magic, our boarding group went from #5 to #3! Too Cool!

Keeping secrets is not allowed here on the DIS. You must tell all. What did you do, bribe Mickey?

When we first got in the water, it was a little chilly! We are Floridians, so we like our pool at home 80-83°

But your blood is northern. Add 10 degrees and that is where we like our pool water temps.

Thank-you for writing such an awesome TR. The pics are wonderful. What a beautiful family you have. Do you have more pics of the room and veranda area?
Hope your next cruise is as magical. Can't wait to hear all about it.:thumbsup2

Close to bribing Mickey ;)

I remember when my DH & I thought that swimming in Lake Erie in the middle of summer was "bath water" at 72 degrees  We've come a long way.... Once the water temp is at the air temp, then the refreshing factor is not there.....perhaps that will change when we get our solar panels for the pool!!

Thanks for the kind words. No more pics of the room/verandah, but if you search the DIS, you will find many! Can hardly wait until the Jan cruise - in fact, looking more forward to it than the holidays!!!

Great TR!! I really enjoyed it, and it brought back many wonderful memories of my cruise on the Wonder four days after you got off! Your FE is beautiful! Great job!

Awesome TR! We are doing a Doubledip next June, but on the Dream, so I wonder how close the two experiences will be...

Your daughter is such a cutie! So sophisticated for a 3 1/2 YO :happytv:

Thanks a bunch. I have to say, we are really proud of our FE! It was a lot of hard work, but it paid off!!

Have a great time on the Dream! Ship differences aside, the 2 stops at Castaway Cay are totally worth it!!! We just love it there!

(Oh yes, our DD is 3 1/2 going on 30......She keeps life interesting!) :joker:

Neither DH nor I could sleep, so he got up at 5 AM to go out and do his photography. He was going to try to capture the sunrise and take shots of an empty ship. Here are some of photos:

When he got back, DD go up, I got ready for the 5K, and we went up to Beach Blanket Buffett (BBB). I picked up fruit, one Mickey waffle and blueberry muffin for after the 5K. While we were sitting in BBB, it began to rain. Now, I’m not at all a diehard runner, I had just started running in June specifically for the CC 5K. I had walked 5Ks before, but never run. I prefer to bike, use an elliptical and free weights. Basically, I am not running my 1st 5K in the pouring rain. At 8:15, I told DH that if I didn’t run the 5K, I was going to the gym and I’d meet them back in the room to get ready to go to the island.

I went down to Deck 1 and there was a congregation there to run the 5K. We walked over to meet our cast member, who gave us maps and went over the “way” with us as he was not running due to being under the weather. (Sure, “under the weather!!! Let me tell you he was not about to run with the threat of rain!) I decided to go for it. Why not? It was overcast, a little breezy, but the rain stopped. We were off! I had my iPod for tunes and was trucking along. I was in the pack at the end, but it didn’t matter – I was doing it. A few people cheated by turning around early, but I pressed on. As I turned onto the bike path circle, I was running alone. Lucky for me, I couldn’t really get lost. There are red markers every 1000 feet on that part of the path and as I was getting toward the end, the rain started to really come down. Actually, it felt really good. My only problem was the sunscreen dripping into my eyes. Yes, it was waterproof & sweatproof, albeit I don’t think any are downpour proof. I ran all the way back to the ship, and the cast member was there to meet me with a nice, cold bottle of Evian and a purple DCL water bottle. I got back on the ship, climbed the 6 flights back to my room (with a fellow DISer who ran the 5K as well). When I got back, I ate my breakfast and went to take a rinse-off shower. DH left me a note that he and DD went for a walk. It had cleared up nicely!

Having a bad week...love your pictures....thank you so much! I keep staring at them ;)

I enjoyed your trip report. We will be going on our first one in April and I am really anxious. You did an awesome job on your pictures and I really love the picture of your daughter looking out of the porthole. It was really pretty.

Thank you for a very entertaining trip report. The pictures are truly awesome, Disney could use these in their advertising, they really show off the beauty of the Ship. Karyn
