Hey everyone,

Just a quick question here. Family is going down this August for a 8 night stay but the in-laws are only staying the first 5 nights. They currently have a 3 day ticket with the possibility of maybe adding a 4th day (which we could not do until we get down there since we bought tickets from discount site) so the questions is when I make their fastpasses can i only make 3 days (ticket type) worth? Or can I make 5 days (resort stay length) worth? I hav never had to do this because we always buy full length stay tickets when we usually go alone, and are actually APs now, so I didnt know how it would go if I made them fastpasses for a 4th day and then they added the 4th day when they were down there.

Cheers!

Only 3 days worth of FPS. You can only make FPS for the days of entitlements you have on a ticket

Only three days, the length of the tickets. You may find the FP FAQ helpful.

You can only make FP+ for the number of days you have valid tickets. So in this case, 3 days of FP.

We have the same situation and I can confirm you can only make FPs for the 3 days. Once you are there and add the day, you could ask about adding them to your FPS for the 4th day, but it depends on availability. Someone recommended we pick less popular rides for our extra day.

ugh- this thread makes me realize i have a similar problem...my family is going down 11/5 but my parents aren't joining us until 11/7. i'm in charge of getting the FP for all of us and my 60 day window opens up 9/6 but theirs won't open until 9/8, right? so i won't be able to make FP for all of us together on 9/6? that will mess up all my plans :(

Yeah. Pretty sure youll be able to make all of yours for everyone getting in on the 5th and then 2 days later you will have to try to get your parents similar times (or possibly try adding them onto your existing plans). Or I suppose you can wait until their window opens and do them all together but then youd be sacrificing that earlier FP window which could lead to missing some big rides.

If they're on your account their window should open with yours, even though it's technically 2 days later.

Your situation is different, unless your parents are planning to add days to their currently purchased tickets. You can only make FP+ for the number of days of a valid ticket. In your situation, on your 60 day window opening, you should be able to make FP+ reservations starting for 11/5 for anyone linked to your DME that has a valid ticket, even if they do not have a WDW resort reservation. The only thing is that you can only make the FP+ for the number of days that the individuals have tickets.

@Dis Dragon @tobikaye How can they make a 60 day fastpass reservation for someone whose resort stay starts 2 days later than theirs? I thought the FP window opens 60 days prior to your first resort day?

Just to add clarification, with a 3 day ticket you can make 3 days worth of fastpasses, BUT they do not have to be consecutive days. They DO have to be within the valid dates of your tickets.

They can make it because they're part of the same reservation, they're linked to the other stay. Someone else was just commenting on it the other day that they could schedule their FP 2 days early because their friends linked reservation started 2 days before theirs. It's part of the split booking system.

Wouldn't that be affected by the start date of their tickets though? so if the reservation begins on Day 1 of the trip but the tickets' first valid date is Day 3 of the trip, they cannot make FP reservations outside of the tickets' valid period.

They do not even have to be part of the same reservation. This is how WDW allows people that may not be all staying at WDW to visit together and plan FP+. There are many situations where individuals will want to tour WDW together, but not all be staying onsite on the extact reservation.

Example: Say I have a reservation for Friday, December 6 - Sunday, December 8 at POFQ. On Saturday, December 7, my family that lives in Tampa will come over to Orlando to spend the day at the parks with me and then go home same day. They all have APs and we are linked on MDE. When my 60 day window would open, I would be able to make FPs for all of us for any of the days I have reserved.

It is really no different than if you are within your 60 day window and can make reservations for anyone on your MDE with valid tickets. The only difference is that if a guest is staying with the 60 day + length of stay, they can make reservations for anyone in their MDE for those dates instead of having to do day by day.

NOTE: I forgot about the new tickets that are date specific. This may only be an issue if the valid dates are different from the day you are trying to make a reservation for that person. I have not had this tickets yet when we have planned our WDW trips recently.

Now that this thread has gone off-topic with many incorrect responses, directing FP questions to the FP FAQ Sticky for confirmed FP booking info.
