Is this possible? I know DW says 4 in a reg room besides NO Riverside w/ the Trundle bed. What if I just don't tell them about he third little kid about 5 years old, who can sleep in sleeping bag on the floor? We're buying tickets separate also.

This is a hot topic on the boards.

the room occupancy is based on fire-safety standards. Over-occupancy is considered dangerous and a HUGE no-no.

I believe it's cause for immediate removal from property as well, if caught.

"Don't Do It" is the official word, both with Disney and here as well.

I'm sure others will post their opinions.

Here's the problem with this.
First, the room capacity limits are linked to fire codes and such I believe.

Second, while we're all aware that people do this, just something you should be aware of. If you decide to do any Extra Magic Hours, you will only be issued 4 rooms keys. You need your room key to gain access to the EMH's at the parks. So your 5 yo would have a problem.

If you decide to do the Disney Dining Plan you'll have trouble too.

Have you checked out the All Star Family Suites ? The Ft Wilderness cabins ? Two values ? These would all be viable options. Hope this helps.

What are your dates FloridaFamily ?

I understand if it's for Fire/Safety or per Fire Marshall reasons. I wouldn't consider trying it then. Seems weird that NO Riverside has rooms with a trundle bed that is the same size or smaller than other Mod resorts such as Carribean. Think i'll book at NOR then. Thanks.

I have to agree to that. IF the codes are based on sq footage of the rooms, then why (and I am not saying this to be snotty in anyway...) is it ok to have 5 in AB which is the same sz as a room in the mansions and most other mods?

I know in childcare the sq footage determines how many kids you may house in one room so I am not questioning this, I am just wondering how AB gets around this....

We have stayed there before and you could just as easily put a roll away bed there (where the trundle is)...if the rooms at MODS are pretty much the same set up.

Does anyone know? Just curious.

btw the trundle was big enough for me to sleep on...I a 5'3 and 130

I am completely guessing, but based on building code stuff I know about in other cities, they may have had to meet OVERALL occupancy restrictions for the entire resort when meeting fire codes. So the whole POR has a certain # of square footage designated to rooms, and that means that the fire code allows xx guests in total. Disney then designates one section as 4 per room, another as 5 per room so it's easier for them to monitor occupancy.

Probably something like that.

You won't be able to take advantage of the extra hours the parks are open for resort guests since the 5 year old wouldn't have a room key.

Your best bet is Port Orleans Riverside or a family suite at All Star Music.
