Hi - We are staying at HRH, disney and the poly in May - there is me, DH, DS4 & DS9mths. I am currently trying to convince my mum to come with us (although its unlikely!)

If I can persuade her - Is there enough room for her in the standard rooms of both these hotels? What is the set up - I thought there was 2 double beds and a convertible sofa bed in both hotels - am I correct??

Thanks alot!

Hi Amy

You should be all right as Lucas will be in a cot I assume?

I don't remember a sofa bed at the HRH (not to say there wasn't one though! Not helpful, sorry) but I'm sure the Poly sleeps five.

HTH

Karen

PS Please keep Jan away from Jon's parents, don't want them getting the same idea for our April trip :lmao:

HRH had 2 doubles and 2 chairs no sofa bed, but the beds were roomy. Should just fit a cot aswell. I know they have some family rooms as well might be worth checking whats available.

:goodvibes

i must be misunderstanding you...
you would have your mum and husband sleep in the same room?

All Polynesian rooms have two queen beds and a day bed, so that would work fine.

At the HRH they only have two queen beds, but comfortable roll-away beds are available for a daily fee ($20?).

For Disney I'd put some thought into a one bed DVC room as opposed to the Poly. Mum gets her own sleeping area (to share with the kids) and you have the benefits of a full kitchen and a washer dryer in the condo.

I don't think you'll find the cost is vastly different and for that group make up I think everyone is going to have a much easier time sleeping.

An alternative would be a cabin at Fort Wilderness, but I think with a baby the DVC units are a much better idea.

If you're not familiar with DVC a one bedroom condo has a master suite with a king bed and a huge on suite bathroom. In the living room you have a pull out sleeper couch, it also has an open kitchen with large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, stove, microwave and a washer dryer.
DVC hotels are Animal Kingdom Lodge, Beach club villas ,boardwalk,Old Key West,Saratoga Springs and the villas at Wilderness Lodge

A regular hotel room might work for a couple of days, but IMHO for a 2 week holiday it's going to be pushing relationships a little.

thanks alot for all of your replies - sorry didn't reply before - a 5 week old baby tends to keep you away from the internet!!!;)

Karen - No worries I don't think mum will be able to persuade Nick to let her come without him, so I don't think she will be telling your in-laws!! ( I saw them last week but kept quiet about your April plans as wasn't sure if they knew!!):thumbsup2
