5 in a 1BR if you RENT?!?

There's a thread on the Family Board that states if you rent DVC points, you can put five in a 1BR.

REALLY?

Has anyone had experience with this - because I know as an owner, I cannot do this. I've been told by MS that the rates of occupancy are based on fire codes, not where people sleep (because our twins ALWAYS sleep with us on vacation).

Not trying to stir the pot, but I'm highly confused as to why renters would be able to do this but not owners.

This will be closed soon, so I'll give the answers we often hear. MS will allow 5 in a 1 bedroom, but officially it is supposed to be 4 plus a child under age 3. If they have more than that, they wont be able to get room cards for them.

Sorry for the confusion, but . . . I'm not understanding why MS would allow it for some and not for others.
