5 hours in January!

Right, so my mum found an opportune moment to suggest to my dad coming with Jack and I to DLRP.

They both love the eurostar so are going to come out with us on the disney express on the sunday and return on it later that day.

I know its not long enough for us DISers, but they will have only just come back off a 3 weeks holiday the previous weekend, so there is no way we can convince daddio to stay overnight.

Your mission - should you wish to accept it, is decide the best way for them to get the most ouof their 5 DLRP hours.

My thoughts so far are as follows:

1.30pm - we all arrive, they view the delights of main street and the castle while jack and I check into DLH.

we all meet up, do BTM (mums favourite) and PM (dads) and then maybe POTC.

Watch the parade (don't know what time its on in January!?) then I want them to go on ToT as its so well themed and amazing, my dad would love it and mum thinks she'l be brave enough.

I'm really sad we wont have time for Walts

Nope, like i said in my first post, this is all they can get, so mum has decided its better than nothing.

Its just as well their fave rides are so close together!!

Why not take them to Cafe Mickey after a couple of rides? That is very very Disney and I think you'd get a lot out of the trip that way- They'd get to go on some rides, meet some characters, have a meal, and then maybe head back to the park for the parade??

But then you get fed a lot on the eurostar, and it would be 2 hours out really, as it would be a shame to rush CM.....

Yes, but you don't have to have a big meal in Cafe Mickey, and it might be nice to meet the characters too.

If you didn't do that, I'd suggest doing the rides, seeing the parade and Castle, but I'd then say go for cocktails in the DLH bar..... If you timed it right you could see the characters in the lounge there....

Very true! My mum has mentioned doing this too, so might be a good idea. maybe I could sneak then into the Caslte Club lounge if I upgrade? Not sure how it works...

I dont think they would know who was in your booking so surely anyone could go with you into the lounge unless you names are on something,has anyone ever had a free upgrade to CC from a standard?

Not that I've heard of, so I can't really help....

... I have to say though, I don't know if you always get the 'perks' of upgraded things when the upgrade is free- I think you just get the 'better' room... When we got our free upgrade there were no extras, just our lovely room and gorgeous view. I've heard about getting fastpasses and things in suites at hotels, but I'm not sure you'd get things like that with a free upgrade....

....Didn't bother me though!!

But I agree with Fay, if you did have access to the CC lounge they probably couldn't stop you taking them in unless your names were somewhere....

Oh yeah good thinking batman!! because if you were to have booked the suite you got you would have had FP's too. I never thought of that. Nah wouldnt have bothered me either, standard rooms do us fine, altho no one would argue with a free suite with or without the extras.

Oh yeah, I'm not expecting anything for free I haven't paid for, just saying that I think about CC everyday, and when I check in might ask about availibility and what the price to upgrade to CC is...

I might even get too excited about it in the next 5 months and do so anyway. Lol.

But I figure if I do go CC and have my lift pass then no one would know once we're in the lounge, although they might feel a bit guilty drinking free drinks that they shouldnt.

No, but has a view over fantasia gardens I believe, which will be lovely too, so that's going to be our worst case scenario! (What a shame! )
