5 hour wait for Frozen ride?....

They were giving away free Premium Mickey Bars, though :)

It was later reported that some folks got TWO :mickeybar:mickeybarnow that changes everything.

I have a fastpass for next week before my dinner reservations at Akershus. Do you think this was just a first day thing, or are fp lines going to be 45 mins typically?

Some tweets were coming out later in the day that FP+ wait was as long as 2 hours ....................... in addition to SB line being shut down. Think there needs to be a coming to Froway meeting :confused3 and some maybe not so popular executive decisions. I'd rather know I have no chance of riding before I go totally gray then lose valuable park time.

I'm curious if anyone on this board waited the actual 5 hours and if so, why? Just wondering how you would convince your kids to stand in that, not have to pee or not have to eat. And I'm sorry - freebie ice cream bars wouldn't make a bit of difference to me to stand in that line...It's like you spent almost your entire day in that line.

I can see a crazy line on opening day not being a huge deal and even being somewhat fun if you're (1) childless (or no young kids), (2) a local, and (3) a Disney geek. You do it to say you did, and you go in knowing it will be insane. Bring along stuff to amuse yourself in line, make friends with those around you, I think under the right circumstances I would probably do it too.

Taking in the atmosphere in World Showcase (provided it's not terribly hot) isn't the worst way to spend 5 hours. My bigger problem would be having waited all that time to find out Disney's newest ride has broken down for the 10th time that day.

I watched the full ride on you tube and I would be highly upset if I waited more than 30 minutes for this ride...highly upset. Should have left the ride as the Maelstrom, in my opinion.

We all say we would never do it but in reality, we will all stand in line for our favorite disney thing. If you are a parent or grandparent, that means your in line for their favorite disney thing. You can't come all the way to WDW and tell your child, sorry the line is too long for their favorite disney thing and then make them sit through a breakfast with characters they don't even know because that's your thing...

I'll see you all in line!

Just over the wire ................ FEA line guests are getting rice crispie treats .... just plain regular ones.

Apparently last night they got Mickey ones.

Hmmm. Do you have kids? I can't think of one reason why a kid should sit/stand in a 5 hour line. Sometimes the parent and/or grandparent knows better. The kids I know would never make it. It would lead to meltdowns and peeing their pants. o_O There's plenty of "current" characters and Elsa is at MK, anyway.

Yes, and when she was younger, she was really good at picking if it was worth waiting. Now I just tell her good luck I'll see you later :) She's the blue hair in the background of my photo (an adult now).

Fun! Special behind the scenes tour!

DS saw on Twitter about 1.5 hours ago.

Um, yeah, you can..LOL!! I've been known to tell my kids that over the years. Usually more in a it's too long now, we will check back later way but still no way no how would I try to stand in line for 5 hours even if my kids wanted to at the start of it. :)

And as my kids have started to get a bit older they've became more choosey too. Like when 7DMT was in soft openings and we could have stood in line for like 2 hours to ride and they were like no way even when I wanted to....On this last trip Soarin' reopened on our last day with the old film and was an 80 minute wait and even that they were like nope, keep moving...

Edited: to try to fix my quotes which is being silly.

Elsa is no longer at MK so I think that's kind of a game changer.

It will be interesting to see what kinds of changes (if any) are made to their M&G in Norway.

Actually that's not really accurate.. to meet her yes, but disney did remind everyone when they announce sommerhaus opening that she is in the fantasy parade at 3pm in MK.

Oh, I was strictly talking about the M&G. I don't really count the parade because kiddos don't get to hug, take pics, and have autographs signed at MK any longer.

I would have a meltdown and ....
I didn't have to wait in line at all....I watched the video. The down side...I don't have a Mickey Bar. :mickeybar:( I'll give it a pass when I go to Epcot.
