5 Days of Too Much! Cali, Cindy's, BD, Yacht, Rn'Cr

I'm just joining the party here, so forgive me if my comments are out of date!

Yachtsman: It may not have just been your server. We had a similar experience there last December.

California Grill: I completely agree, that's a great place to dine. That's on our list of "must do's" for every trip, and we plan on taking my parents there on our upcoming trip this November.

Looking forward to your next post!

excellent reviews - love how you had extra commentary and tips in between!

Excellent............thanks for posting.

Slavike you have helped me out more than you know. We are making our Oct ressies next week and I was going to go with the Rose & Crown and San Angel Inn, now they are both off my list and Cali Grill is for sure on it.

I am so glad that I could help...That is always your hope when you spend 8:scared1: hours writing these things. We have been there so many time...but on these boards I sometimes don't want to say too much..ya know

As far as the Rose & Crown, It is a great place to view Illuminations if you are inclined to eat that late and are up for so-so food...other wise just skip it. Which so sad because just a few years ago I would have said the complete opposite it was always a must for our family. However, the British area of Epcot is still our favorite because we feel that they are always the most interactive with the kids in the street. They play soccer and hopscotch and they are always so friendly. Plus the gardens, including some of the secret spots are AWESOME...don't miss it!

Now as far as San Angel Inn..we have NEVER like the food there...we try it ever couple of years and it is always HORRIBLE. As I said I have a friend who says this is her favorite restuarant, and thinks the food is wonderful. One thing I didn't mention, is the lighting...It's pretty dark in there too, which I have always suspected was because they didn't want you to see what you are eating but I know it's for the boat ride.

Enjoy your trip!

Great reviews! DH's ONE dining rule is NO eating in Mexico :lmao: , but we are allowed to get margaritas there :drinking1 :rotfl2:

We all agree that the California Roll is just okay, nothing special. The portion is a good size but not so big that you struggle with it. Next the Sashimi, I hated it. We have some really good sushi places near us, and I just hated it, I though it smelled funny and had a slimy taste. You shouldn’t taste anything, in my opinion. It left a weird and funky after taste. I hated it.

You definitely have a way with words. I was laughing so hard at your description of the food at San Angel and the comments about your Cinderella freak sister.

I would honestly advise people who want to have good and reasonably priced sushi and sashimi to try somewhere else than Orlando and WDW. I’m lucky to live in Vancouver, BC where it seems every other restaurant is a sushi place. The fish is really good and the prices are a fraction of what you pay in WDW. I cringe when I see California Roll for $17 which is can be easily had for $3 – 5. And Sashimi that’s off can make you really sick.

Love your reviews!:goodvibes I decided to add California Grill to our ADR's for next month b/c of you!:thumbsup2

My DH has the exact same rule! Except the adendem to that rule is Kelli is only allow one Margarita per visit when I am with him. The last time things went horribly wrong..there was An Unlucky Cast Member at Frozen Coke Cool Station, Sun, 90 degree weather, and a German Puppet...:rotfl:

Your boys are adorable and you are so lucky to be able to recycle the costumes...we have 2 boys! 4 and 9 months and we are hoping for the same luck!!!

comments about your Cinderella freak sister.

1) Thanks!

2) You have no idea...This sister has no kids. She has a 5 bedroom home. There is bedroom dedicated to Cinderella and filled with her collection of things "Disney" Cinderella. This trip she purchase several items that had to be shipped home, but one particularly annoying pillow, the Shape of Cindy's head, that had area where, if you were a 5 year old child you would put your PJ's. Came back with us on the plane. It was thrilling, going through security, no childern with us and giant kids pillow in tow.

Thank God I am Gold Elite and I got an Upgrade.

3) The Sashimi wasn't that bad, but just it's the California Grill, and I thought it should have been BC good at least. You live in a beautiful area with Tremendous Sushi. I live in Cleveland...we do our best.

I am glad that you did...YOU WILL Love it. We, in all these years, all these trips, this includes all the members of my family so...that's...at least 5 trips a year for the past 20 years that's been around..the California Grill never has disappointed us.

Do try to get that time for the fireworks, but don't worry about the too much about that window seat, every seat provides some sort of view (Except the Wine Room) and they pipe the music in too!

Very good reviews. I'm glad that you enjoyed the California Grill. I agree, it's a "foodie paradise." Meat and potato people may not like it. Thanks.
