5 days, non hopper, what do you do?

Weather and ride closures can really complicate touring plans. Parkhopping is well worth the additional cost.

Yes! I totally forgot this was one of the reasons we loved the hoppers so much- unplanned ride closures (and we weren't there during rainy season).

I think I'm in the minority when it comes to park hopping, I don't bother getting hoppers (I like to spend a full day at one park at a time) so I will say they aren't completely necessary unless you feel that you will want to be in both parks on the same day, for a show or parade or whatever.

I always choose more time in DL than DCA just because I feel that there's more to do there. You could always alternate days and in the end go back to the park where you feel like you missed the most or revisit the majority of your favorite rides in a certain park.

I am moving more in your direction. We used to be staunch "Always get a hopper at DL" people but the more we look back on our recent trips the more we realize we rarely hopped between the two parks on a given day. That said, if this was one of my first trips I would definitely get the hoppers so I would at least have that option. Everyone has different touring patterns so until I knew what worked best for me I would want to be able to hop.

This is true for us too. We we have hoppers we do use them but not daily and not several times a day. We also rarely stay until park close, the kids are usually worn out long before then. We also do 1 or 2 nighttime shows during a 5 day trip, and maybe only 1 for a shorter trip. As the kids get older I can see this changing, but for now they are generally ready for the hotel by 9 pm.

Why is hopping such a complicated decision? Wait, is that just me?

I can see how ride closures can suck big time and hoppers are necessary. However, in my closed-minded head, this may be more beneficial for shorter stays. Is it as necessary for 5+ days? Not sure. No clue what to do. Thoroughly confused at this point. lalala. (I think I need coffee)

Still dunno what to do....

But the hotel is booked! The price did go up since I checked earlier in the week but oh well.

thanks. Truth be told, I'm not a devoted fan either. I see the benefits and maybe if my kids were older we'd be more apt to go back and forth. IDK, for me it's just easier to stay in one place.

I find it more relaxing to stay in one park. We get to experience things we may skip because we are clambering to get back to the *other* park. My kids are 17, 16, and 13 and it was their idea not to hop and it was the best trip ever! :thumbsup2
