I am hoping to plan a November trip to WDW for myself 2 sons and their wife/girlfriend. Which resort and room layout would be best for the 5 of us? We don't mind one room.

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend 5 adults in one room. Especially with the mix of people you have. No privacy and only one bathroom !!??!! However a few of the deluxes offer 2 queen beds and a day bed. You might want to look into one of the family suites instead, or a DVC villa if 2 regular rooms are out of the question.

I agree with all th previous posters that the rooms are not big enough.. If money is an issue then stay at an offsite hotel or rental home.

5 adults in one room with only one bathroom is really really insane. I did it one time with three adults, a teenager and one infant, and after two nights, we rented another room. The space is really small. Is better to book two value rooms and you could switch room to give your sons a little privacy. Or book an offsite two or three bedroom villas. Not only you, but your sons will really appreciate it.

If you want to stay onsite, I would suggest looking at the family suites at AoA and AsMu. The family suites have two bathrooms, 3 beds and you will not have to pay the extra adult fee that is required when putting more than 2 adults in a standard room.

Most deluxes will sleep 5 (except AKL, WL you would need a deluxe room), but you will be paying $75 extra per night for the 3 extra adults. You could also do a junior suite at CSR or a cabin at FW.

I would definitely suggest two or three rooms at a value or even two rooms at a mod. Or look into a 2-bedroom at SSR or OKW.

Otherwise, I would look into offsite resorts that have more space for your $$.

Not only would it be crazy cramped, but you'd be getting charged an additional nightly fee for 3 people if you stay in a regular room.

Look for family suites or villas. Renting points is a nice way to save money on a villa.

I actually would have no problem with this arrangement, we are a cozy family I guess! We don't spend much time in the room, but location is important to us so I would recommend either Yacht/Beach or the Poly. For about the same price you should be able to get more space at Old Key West or Saratoga springs, but the location won't be as desirable.

There is no way I would be in a room with four other adults! Sleeping would be awful, and there wouldn't be nearly enough storage space. Getting ready each morning would take forever, unless someone showered at night.
I would love at the family suites at AoA or All Star Music. Or, possibly rent DVC points and get a two bedroom villa...plenty of room and privacy there.
Or just book two rooms and ask to have them as close together as possible.

To me, a room is just a place to sleep and shower. We do not come back to our room to relax, or to sit around in, so I don't care very much about how big it is. I do, however, care a lot about the resort, the theming and its location and amenities, so that is often how we decide where to stay.

My point is: If all are in agreement that you don't intend to be in the room for anything other than sleeping and showering, and everyone is good with hearing everyone else snoring, or coming in late at night and potentially waking others in the room up, and that all of you are fairly low-maintenance with showering/getting ready, I don't think you will mind staying five to a room. Most rooms at Disney that sleep five are typical-sized hotel rooms: they're certainly not so small that you guys are going to be stepping over each other and squeezing by each other with no room to spare.

Assuming you're not interested in renting points for a villa, most of the deluxe hotels accommodate five (2Q + daybed) in their standard rooms, with the exception of Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom. For moderates, Port Orleans accommodates five, but the Murphy Bed is child-sized, so I'd nix that as a contender. Coronado Springs also sleeps 6 in their junior suites, but the price for that room is heftier than most deluxe hotel accommodations. On the value level, the All Star and AOA resorts have family suites that sleep 6, but the price is usually equal to the deluxe hotels, and it is sometimes cheaper to get two rooms and have the convenience of two bathrooms and better sleeping options since the family suites are geared more towards children's size sleeping accommodations.

If you have a bigger budget for the trip, several of the deluxe hotels offer deluxe rooms on the club level. These are bigger rooms and offer 2Q beds plus a queen sleeper sofa. This would be my recommendation if you have the budget for a pricier room: The rooms are much bigger, there are two separate TVs, and you would each have your own big bed. Plus, you'll have the convenience and luxury of staying club level with the snack and drink offerings in the lounge and the staff offering you help with your plans and itinerary. The price for this room is generally less than getting two regular rooms at a deluxe hotel, while also getting the amenities and convenience of club-level service.

A couple of years ago my daughter, son-in-law, son, his fiance (all 20+) and I stayed at Poly with 2 queens and a daybed. A little cramped? Sure. Doable? Absolutely! Our stays in the room were essentially for sleeping and getting dressed to head out to the parks for the day. As long as everyone stuck to the rule of keeping their clothes in their suitcases, dresser drawers or closet we really didn't feel too crowded at all and had a wonderful time at a deluxe with a great location without the extra expense of an additional room. If you can put up with each other for short overnight stints I say go for it!!

I'm going to echo PPers that I think if you put 5 adults in one room, nobody will be on speaking terms by the end of the week--no matter how cozy you think you are.

I've stayed in moderates w/ 3 adults in the room. it was certainly fine for sleeping, showering, etc. However (if I can make this make sense) all three of us couldn't really be up and on our feet moving about in the living area all at the same time due to limited floor space.

_I_ would get two value rooms--costs less than a suite.

Sometimes I think that people on this board must have a 4,000 sq foot house with 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms for 4 people the way they (gasp!!!!) talk about having more than 2 people in a hotel room!

We did POR just fine for 5 days last Nov with me DH, DS13 (5'9" and 160lbs), DD9, and DS7. DD and DS took turns on the murphy bed. DS13 wanted it because he didn't want to sleep with a sibling, but his feet hung over (the bed is about 5 feet long), so he sucked it up and shared with DS7. It was not a big deal for us at all, but with 5 adults in *your* party, the murphy bed wouldn't work.

I have spent many a hotel nights with my large family as a kid...sometimes even sleeping three to a bed! and we lived to tell the tale. My 4 sisters and I have even done this as adults together. But we also shared a 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom house growing up, too, so a couple nights together in a hotel room doesn't bother us in the least.

I guess it is all in one's perspective.

You either have to do deluxe (I'll recommend Yacht or Beach club for it's location next to epcot) or AoA Family Suite which will probably cost similar (or maybe less) and you'll have more room and two bathrooms. Next suggestion would be a cabin at Fort Wilderness.

If staying onsite is your preference, Port Orleans Riverside might work. Two Queen beds and a pull-down "Murphy Bed". But, if nobody is shorter than about 5'5" (or thereabouts) POR's murphy bed really isn't a good option. Best bang for your buck is most likely getting two rooms a a Value resort...(or, for a little more, a suite at A of A or All Star Music).

Your choices will be POR (but the murphy bed will not hold an adult).

Fort Wilderness Cabins.

Family Suites at ASmusic or AoA.

A Deluxe with rooms that have a Daybed/Sofa

Villas with at least 2 bedrooms

I'd say Family Suites (and though I'm not an AoA fan there you would at least get three actual beds (one bed, 1 pullout, 1 double murphy) Music has 2 beds (one bed, one pullout) and 2 sleeper chairs). Two bathrooms and a kitchenette (fridge/microwave). Midrange in price and plenty of room.

Or 2 rooms at a value or mod which will probably be cheaper than any deluxe and maybe cheaper than some of the Family Suites.

But you are all blood related (well, except you and your DH, but you get what I mean) and 3 are children...not the same as 5 adults

You say sleeping and showering. The problem is that 5 people using the shower and the toilet and needing a private place to change is hard.

I shared a room with a AKL with my ILs, DH, and my almost 3 year old. It was fine, but I know there were times when bathroom was an issue.

So my advice...go for something with two bathrooms or pay for CL at a deluxe that includes a daybed for some extra space.

I think the best option is two rooms with the IL switching between the rooms.

Isn't there an addtl per night charge, per adult when you have more than 2 adults in the room? So, there would be an addlt charge for 3 people, right?

If you want a regular room (not a villa), I'd go with one of the monorail resorts as those rooms are among the largest of the deluxe resorts. Also, all rooms at the Poly and CR come with a daybed, with most at the GF having one (there are only a few that don't). The Epcot resorts are nice, but we found our room at the BC to be considerably smaller than at the Poly and GF and a daybed would only be a request at the BC and YC (not sure about BWI). Parties of 5 are usually given preference for those rooms, but it is not a guarantee (although a rollaway would be provided). Good luck.

Yes and at a deluxe resort that will add $75 a night.
