Hey all,

Please let me know if there is a thread that can help already but otherwise I'm looking for any advice on 5 adults going to DisneyWorld for 2 weeks.

We've been trying all kinds of combinations but not sure of the best deal.

It's My Mum, My sister and her husband and My Wife and I.

So ideally, three bedrooms. We're looking at most options but I think we'd prefer any tips on staying onsite or very close by?

Any and all advice welcome. It seems set up quite well for families of 5 if there are kids but if you're all adults and want that bit of privacy... it seems difficult.

Thanks in advance.

Kevin

*** Thanks, Wilma!!

I edited your thread title for you but, in future, if you want to edit it, just click 'edit' and then 'go advanced' and you can edit the title :)

Sorry, I can't offer any advice on villas as we usually stay on-site. If you are interested in advice on when to go, though, I would choose September over April every time :thumbsup2

You could rent points from a DVC owner, either privately or through a broker like dvcrequest.com
I think they charge $13 per point.

On Disney property, but NOT a Disney hotel is Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort. This is a condo hotel. For three beds you'd need a one bedroom and a two bedroom as the two bedroom units have two double beds in one room.

Also close at DTD and with suites are the DoubleTree Guest Suites.

Or just 3 rooms in a Disney hotel. You are paying a surcharge for every adult over 2 in a room anyway.

The Treehouse Villas have 3 bedrooms too.

Thanks for the correction and the tip. I was in a bit of a rush... appreciate that.

Interesting. What makes you say that? I've been three times in April/early May and had a great time (Low queues, great weather) those times.

And overall... thanks!

Thanks very much. I'll have a nosey about the DVC thing... we were thinking of buying into that at one point.

I stay on site more often than not but I really think for your party a villa off-site would be best.

The nearest ones would be the likes of Windsor Hills, Windsor Plams, Emerald Island,Sunset Lakes or Lindfields - all of these are about 15-20 mins drive to WDW

While renting DVC points is an option, for all of you to have your own room and a real bed you would need either 3 studios or a 3 bedroom (Grand Villa) which would be extortionate! (I am a DVC owner, and I know how many points would be needed:scared1:)

End of April/early May is probably a great time but you did originally say April and I was thinking Easter/Spring Break crowds. When we have been in April, we have always noticed large crowds. Plus, although it was warm, we did have a few days where we needed jumpers/long trousers as it was quite chilly/windy during the day and early evening. Compare that to September when it has always been very quiet and the weather is lovely - gone are the humidity and draining heat of high summer but you still have beautifully hot days and warm evenings :thumbsup2

Oh, and I agree 100% with irenep - to rent enough DVC points for a 3-bedroom Grand Villa or treehouse would be extortionate. And 3 studios wouldn't be worth having as you wouldn't get as much room or anywhere where you could all gather together very comfortably.

Yeah - first time I went as a kid, we did one week before hols started and the second during them. You could tell the difference.

But later April/Early May has served us well the last two times. First time it rained once for about half an hour (and we were inside eating pizza!)
Last year it rained a couple of times for a couple of hours but both times the weather was in the late 80's early 90's!! (The word heatwave was used a couple of times).

But anyway - glad you've cleared up my ponderings about September. Never been. Late September. I had heard before that it can be hurricane season? But it looks like you've never had that problem. :goodvibes

Thanks for the input. I tried to do some basic calculations, and assuming I got it right, yeah - it would be pricey!!
