5/8 4-night Wonder: Epic report on an epic cruise

We didn't go to the movie theatre, but I remember they were premiering "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" in there; they also had some skating movie with Hillary Duff; can't really remember what else, sorry.

Thanks for the movie info. I'm trying to plan ahead as the forecast is for thunderstorms. I'm hoping that they are just scattered storms that maybe hit more in the late afternoon to evening timeframe, but you never know.

Gret pictures....thanks for posting! We just got our pics developed today....it is like re-living the vacation all over!
The underwtaer camera that we used to take pictures of the Underwater Mickey at Castaway Cay didn't turn out too well....but atleast WE know we saw him!!

Debbie: thanks for the compliment; I'm not a writer, per se, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

LOL! I thought the same thing as Debbie! You really gave a wonderful way with the written word! In fact, your whole trip report had a British flavor.

but if you have kids, you know how hard it is to keep them entertained and sitting still at a table when they're already a bit fidgety after a long day.

This is why I prefer early dining. On our first Disney cruise, it wasn't available at booking, so we switched once onboard.

Anyway, thanks for a great trip report

What a GREAT report, the best i've read yet. We're first timers this Nov. with an 8 and 12 yr old. Do you have any suggestions for a 12 year old? He'll be 13 in Jan., but the rules state he has to be within a month of his b-day to do any of the teen things. On the other hand, he's not so excited about the little kids things to do. I'm thinking I scheduled this cruise at-a-not-so-perfect-time for my oldest. He feels like there is nothing for him to do. Any suggestions? Maybe we've missed something.

Hi we were on the Wonder on the 19th of may table 10 and we too had Judy and Benedicte They both were really lovely, but I could see some people possibly not getting Judy's shall we say Humour!!! :rolleyes1 Thankfully for us they were good I wouldn't say they were outstanding but compared to a couple of servers we had at lunch I think we stroke lucky. We also had shall we say a rather hard family on a table next to us that made there life hell so we were probably very easy to please. Here's to cruising summer 2007.
Thanks for your great trip report and pics by the way I tried several times to post mine but not being very good with computers it kept locking me up and being stupid I didn't save them.
Take care Chucklechops

Debbie: thanks for the compliment; I'm not a writer, per se, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. As for the grouper, I just got those pictures developed yesterday, and I'm disappointed with the underwater shots. The grouper was right underneath the lifeguard station, so he's in a big shadow and it's hard to see him. For what it's worth, though, when I have a chance I'll try to scan it in and post it, along with a much better photo of a snapper that cruised by at one point.

Very sorry to hear about your experience with Judy and Benedicte; Judy sounds like she must have a split personality, because she was constantly taking time to chat with us -- we found her very animated and engaging for the most part. Benedicte is a bit more reserved. I, too, thought it took a bit long to have dinner, as we were usually in there for almost 2 hours. I realize it's a monumental task for the galley to prepare four courses for so many people at the same time, but if you have kids, you know how hard it is to keep them entertained and sitting still at a table when they're already a bit fidgety after a long day.

Wow, that is an unfortunate dilemma. My children are younger, so I didn't really look into what was being offered to the older kids. All I can tell you is that I overheard some conversations between the Kids' Club staff and other parents where the age rules were relaxed to allow for siblings to play in the same areas. Maybe if you get onboard and say "pretty please" they might make some exceptions for your son. Good luck.
