5/5/2013 "Cinco de Mayo 2013 Cruisers Party on the Dream!"

I just got back home tonight after a business trip in Orlando this week...when going through the airport, I noticed all the kids with Mickey/Minnie/Princess suitcases, shirts, bags etc, saw the Disney Magical Express area and bus...all of which made me very excited to think about our upcoming cruise! "Only" 170 days! :woohoo:

Is anyone working on your Fish Extender? I've bought materials to make mine but haven't started assembling it yet...saving it for the long winter months, I guess!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday, everyone :goodvibes

Yep!! Went to Joann's and bought all of my materials and fabric for the FE...have my instructions page saved to my favorites...now all I need to do is figure out how to do everything! HAHA! I put my FE gifts on hold when life got a little hectic, but now, I will pick them up again knowing that time is counting down! How exciting!!

We are heading to Disney for a few days before the cruise...i have no problem looking after this for you, would be only too glad to help you out!

I think i am going to sign up for the fish extender for the door, how does this work.Sounds very interesting and is there a pattern for them or should i just buy one from etsy?

Can you add me to this thread please?
First time cruisers here and this sounds like fun!

Welcome Jennifer! I am going to attempt to make our Fish Extender, my daughter is a little more crafty than me so she is going to help me LOL I did a search on this forum for fish extender and found lots of helpful ideas and info, and there is a Disney Fish Exteder group on facebook too. Etsy does have some really nice ones for sale too! I've got a rubbermaid tub that I have been filling with supplies and gifts, since I'm sure I won't get to it until after Christmas. My granddaughter is looking forward to working on the goody bags for the kids!

As far as how it works, from what I've read it's pretty much however you want to do it. I'm planning on a goody bag for each child, and a goody bag for each cabin (adults). I think that eventually we'll have a good idea of how many children and adults are participating...our roll call isn't real active yet but I'm hoping more will join in after the holidays.

We are so excited about this cruise - our first on a Disney ship...can't wait! :)

I added your info to the list on page 2, Jennifer :)

hi, can you add us to the list please

Princess Toria; we'll also be in the parks before the cruise...taking my mom on her first ever trip to Disney World :) I can pick up a few for you too if you'd like extras. I wonder if you can have them autographed by the characters? That would be pretty cute! It's a little small, but who knows?

I intend on following the instructions located in my post below (I couldn't post the link because I had less than 10 posts...hahaha). I am a crafty person (paper mostly) and haven't really sewed before so we'll see how this thing ends up!! I have seen quite a few inventive people who end up making theirs out of other material...I'm sure if you browse the web or find some groups on FB you'll see what I mean.

We had a lovely Christmas, enjoyed family time and not having to get up and go to work! ;) I hope each of you had a nice holiday as well. I'm getting my house put back together this week, then next week I plan to start on our fish extenders and gifts...we will only have 4 months left, you know! :beach:
Final payment will be due before we know it!

I just picked up my crocheted FE projects again the day after Christmas :) Only problem is that now I feel like I'm no longer ahead of the game, but behind. LOL!! Never should have let life get in the way ;)

Starting to pick up a few odds-and-ends for FE gifties from Walmart...they have a lot of their stocking stuffers on clearance! I will now need to "ship to the ship" or else I'll have an extra bag just to carry all the goodies on board.

Only 4 months away....sooooo exciting! Can't wait to see how many cabins will participate and what our final tally is!

That's what I'm afraid of too, that I will need an additional suitcase just for the FE and gifts...DH already thinks I've lost my mind! :confused3
As of right now, we are planning to drive to port so that helps. Our last cruise was 7 nights and we did it with carryon luggage only. But with bringing FE things, a few pirate things, plus some princess dresses princess:, I don't think that will happen this cruise!

I saw some pics in a Dream trip review last night...the cabin is within a couple of cabins of ours and is the same category - it looks so much roomier than the RCCL cabins we've stayed in. So excited! :yay:

Well I have just one more week until I can book excursions/restaurants. :) I paid off the cruise this week. I am still trying to decide if I want a cabana or not. I wish I knew for certain which night is Pirate Night so I can book Remy that night...I am thinking night 3.

Can you book excursions early if you pay off the cruise earlier? Or are you a return cruiser who is allowed to book early? I'd LOVE to get a cabana but am not holding my breath. LOL!!

Wow! Lots more people have been added! Sweet!

Does anyone know which night will be which dinner? We are having our 10th anniversary while on the cruise and would like to try and go to Palo, but I don't want to miss Pirate night or Animators Palette.

How can I find out which night will be what?

Thanks!
Deb

I booked a concierge room so I am able to book excursions and dining 120 days out. If I book a cabana it would be one of the Serenity Bay ones so I wouldn't be taking one of the coveted family beach ones. :)

Every Navigator that I have looked at for the 4 night has Pirate Night on night 3 regardless if it is a CC day or a sea day, so I am thinking it's night 3. The dining rotations are ERAA, RAEE, or AERR (I called and requested ERAA.) So Pirate Night would have to be night 3 or 4. I've never heard of them doing it on the last night, so I think night 3 is a pretty good guess. If it shows up on my activities this weekend (when my booking window opens) then I will let everyone know.
