5/30/2010-5 Night Disney Wonder Memorial Day Double Dip! Roster-Post 626 on page 42

Hi all, My family and I will be sailing on the first double dip of the year, and we are soooooo excited! This will be our 4th cruise. DH, myself, DD(16), DD (11), and my parents (their 3rd cruise).

We are all just a bunch of country folk from Northeast Oklahoma, Home of Cherokee Nation, can't wait to get on the cruise!!!:cool1:

could you tell me a little more about the comfort inn at nassau? i looked at dcl excursions and my eyes got BIG on the prices!! just wondering what the comfort inn offers.

Tara

We live in Leesburg which is a small town right outside of Albany. It is in the southwest corner of the state about 90 miles north of Tallahassee, FL. We are a 4 hour drive from Jax.

We wanted to do a post trip to the parks but have decided to head home - definitely wish we could!!

The Comfort Inn at Nassau sounds like a real good deal - definitely better than the DCL excursion. We thought about it as well but there are 10 of us so we would have to get 3 rooms (I think you only get 4 passes per room). Now we are just going to walk around Atlantis to the places we can and walk down to the gardens. Staying on the ship wouldn't be a bad idea either.

We are a little nervous about taking the jitney bus down to Carawak Cay but have read many positive reviews about the ease and safety so we are going to chance it. It looks like our whole group will probably go with us so there is definitely safety in numbers.

I hope it warms up soon in KC - been there once to Kauffman for a baseball game - loved the stadium!!! Missouri is a regular trip for us due to DW having lots of family there - we love it (although the 900 mile drive each way can be tiring)

9 weeks from right now we will be landing in Orlando, getting our luggage, finding our town car, and heading to the Country Inn and Suites to try to sleep a little (if we're not too excited) before eating our free breakfast and catching the shuttle to the port! Is anyone else getting seriously excited yet!?!?!?! :dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:

Hi All. Hope everyone is getting very excited about the upcoming cruise. We were originally booked on this cruise, but changed to the 3/21 4-night wonder to take advantage of the Kids-Sail-Free promotion. We returned last Thursday and enjoyed our short trip. As usual, our absolutely favorite day was Castaway Cay! Pelican Plunge was open and there was lots of construction on the cabanas and new restaurant. They look close to completion.

Anyway, early on in this thread, another DISer (Tami0220) designed the double dip banner -- both the one this thread uses with the Mickey holding the double dip ice cream cone as well as an actual banner that could be hung on a balcony or used for a group meet. She sent that banner to me after she moved her reservation to the Panama Canal cruise, but before we moved our cruise. I would like to send it to someone on this thread who could use it. There are also a few fish extender gifts she designed. Just send me a PM and we can work on arranging my mailing it to you.

Enjoy your cruise everyone. I'm envious of the two days on Castaway Cay. Hope your weather is as good as ours was on Castaway Cay day.

As excited as I have been about this cruise, I just got totally bummed out about our after cruise plans. We were going to go to Universal Studios to see the Wizarding World of Harry Potter which was scheduled to open "Spring 2010" and now the grand opening is not until June 18th. I'm so depressed! :sad1:

Update 03/30/10: Not quite as depressed any more. Rumor has it that there should be a "soft opening" prior to the June 18th Grand Opening and there is a chance we can still see it when we are there but it might not all be open. I'll keep my fingers crossed and focus on the cruise excitement for now.

HI and welcome aboard. Through the DIS boards it was suggested to purchase a hotel room on Paradise Island from Comfort Suites which is located right across the road from Atlantis. As part of the hotel reservation you receive armbands to Atlantis for up to four guests that includes access to the resort, the DIG (their aquarium tour), the waterpark & slides, and beach access. You can take a taxi from the boat at about $4 pp to the Comfort Suites, check in, get your armbands, checkout, and head to Atlantis...or you may want to hold on to the room for naps or showers before returning to the ship it is up to you. Something tells me that Comfort Inn is pretty used to guests of Disney doing this because I paid more for the room than most who have in the past, but it was still a MUCH better deal than paying for the excursion through Disney. There are quite a few threads on these boards discussing this option. Hope this helps.

Hello All
Have not been on here in awhile but we are still cruising. Was wondering a couple of things that we had mentioned in the past and don't want to look through all the posts. Is anyone doing FE? and what was ever decidec about the shirts for this cruise?
Anyone who knows about either thing drop me a line.
Thanks
Cindy

I haven't been around in forever, but we're still cruising too! Just booked our room at Comfort Suites for Atlantis yesterday. This morning I booked Country Inn and Suites for the night before the cruise.:cool1::cool1: Only 57 days to go!

Hi all!
We are also very excited. We will be cruising with a group of 14, all of which are Disney Cruise newbies, so i can't wait to see their reactions to everything. We will be celebrating a "wedding" while on board, so look for us on June 1st!!

I thought I'd try moving this list over here and trying to keep it updated. I think we may have lost a few and gained a few since the last update. If anyone needs added or removed, please let me know either by posting here or PMing me.

Eshlyn,
I haven't been around. I have RA and I have been really super sick. For months. I would love (love ) for you to take over the roster. I sure can't keep up with it anymore. I updated it as of today (4-5-10 at 2:00 p.m. CST) you can copy it and paste it into your post and then you will have the power to edit it. I think that's what I did when KSDisneyDad handed it over to me. If it doesn't work, let me know. Also, my nephew will be aboard...he is 13 and a little shy. I would say that he would contact your son, but I bet he wont. That's how shy he is...but he will be aboard. Maybe we could get them together?

Oklj,
Hey there! We are from southwest Missouri, so we are are practically neighbors! We don't live in the country, but city it ain't. :goodvibes

Glad everyone joined, sorry I'm a slacker on the roster. I'm sure Eshlyn will do a much better job than I did!

What part of NE OK? Close to Tahlequah? My wife has family from that area and its a beautiful part of the state.

Its great to see so many people from the midwest on this cruise. Last time we cruised during east coast spring break and we were the furthest west of any posters on that trip. We had a great time on that cruise so thats not saying we didn't like it.

danceteacher,

I didn't mean to bump you out of your job, but as my best friends' mom has RA I have a distant understanding of your situation. If you are teaching dance with RA now, or have in the past, you are an incredibly strong woman and I commend you! Taking care of you and yours should be your top priority and if my taking over the roster helps you, I'm happy to do it. :)

If your super shy nephew has access to email, or his parents email, I could include him in the Cruise Buddy emails my DS13 has been passing back and forth with lawhit88's DS13. Maybe reading them will help him get to know our two teens a little before the cruise. PM me if you think that might work.

Everyone,

Oddly enough, I live in Missouri too, St. Louis area, and my best friend mentioned above lives in OK. So I probably drive right by danceteacher and oklj on my trips to visit her. I may be making half of that drive in the next few weeks to meet her half-way and give her one of the kittens a stray cat just delivered on my back patio. Anyone else need a kitten?? If I recall correctly, lawhit88 has family in Missouri as well so the midwest is well represented!!

My trip counter shows 53 days (set to 05/29/10 since we are leaving the day before the cruise). I can hardly wait! I'll do my best to keep the roster updated.

I know some members have asked about doing FE on our cruise. Even if only a few families join, it can still be fun. There were 7 families that participated on my last cruise and we had a blast with them. So if you would like to join the FE group please just let us know. We need to know how many people are in your group (how many adults, children and each child's age) Maybe we can post our stateroom numbers later????

I can start the FE list with:

time4disney(Sherrie) and DH (no kids)

GreenAcres (Lisa), DH, DS (almost 15), DSfriend (15)
Please feel free to add to the list.

I teach dance every day of the week with RA. It is no fun, but I also have GREAT kids and GREAT teens who come and demonstrate what I'm saying. Everyone is still learning and growing. So, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! :worship: for taking over. I can't keep up!

I will ask. I don't know if he has email or not.

We were just in DeSoto where my dad lives for the Easter break. What a small world!

Woo hoo!!!!!!!!!! 53 days is a blink of an eye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, I'm a slacker. Haven't posted in forever! I'm excited about all the midwesterners cruising with us since St. Louis is my hometown! Go Cards!

We do have a change to make to the roster. My DD19 won't be cruising with us, but my DS14(will be 15 on 6/15) will be bringing his buddy who's 15. DS's friend has never even been on an airplane, much less a cruise, so we're really excited to see his reaction to everything.

If any of you decide to do FE gifts, please count me in!

Hey Lisa, I added you and your family to the FE list. The list can be found on pg. 61 post #914. Hopefully some others will join in on the fun.:cool1:

I've never participated in the FE's before.
Do you do a gift for every day , every person, or one in general?
I think I would be interested.

On our last cruise, everyone was free to do the FE gifts anyway they wanted. We gave one gift per FE per day, some people just gave one or two gifts, some gave a few things at once, etc. It really doesn't matter what you do as long as you have fun!

My kids delivered the gifts for me most of the time and got to know the ship really well. Even though my kids aren't little, they got excited whenever a gift showed up in our FE.

I hope more people will join!

Lisa

Just as Lisa said, you can hand them out however you would like. On my 3 night cruise I made one trip to deliver the gifts and had several items in the bag. I didn't want the FE to take up too much of my "ship" time since we were on a short cruise. Some of the other families made a daily delivery. Either way, it is still tons of fun.
So, have we talked you and anyone else into doing the FE??? The more, the merrier! :goodvibes
