My older son, Eric (13), has a very mild Autism Spectrum Disorder called Aspbergers Syndrome, as well as ADHD. He is considered, for the most part, "neurotypical" (psychiatrist's fancy word for normal), but is painfully shy at first and has difficulty in social situations. I'm concerned he will not enjoy himself in the teen area but my travel agent has assured me that he will be able to go to the Oceaneer's Lab if he wants to. I think it would be helpful if he had a friend before we even get on board and I was wondering if anyone who reads this and is going on this cruise has a son around Eric's age whom he could communicate with prior to our sailing. (114 days!!!) Or if anyone has any advice for me.
My son Lathon (13 in March) would be interested in finding a friend or two before the cruise. I will send you a PM with our email. We are still looking for a DD10ish to communicate with our DD10 before cruise as well.

It was nice to know who we would be sitting with at dinner & nice to have gotten to know our tablemates beforehand.
This cruise is kinda' special to us and we're looking forward to some real alone time so...we were also WONDERing what it will be like to be seated with people we've never met before. If they are going to seat us with other people anyway, we would rather it be with people we have somthing in common with. It might give us something to talk about during dinner. This is our first cruise and we booked it through DVC so I'm not sure how we would link our reservations???
