5/30/2010-5 Night Disney Wonder Memorial Day Double Dip! Roster-Post 626 on page 42

Jacquelyn, congratulations on getting the 10:00 brunch! I'm super happy for you (and envious ). I'm going to unlink our dining reservations first thing in the morning and see if that helps get me into Palo's reservations system. I'll let let my rep at DU know when its OK to relink. I think the fact that our reservations were linked and you got it into the system may have impacted my ability to access the system (there was a message about it on the screen the last time it bumped me out). It's been over an hour now, so I'm giving up and going to bed. Keep your fingers crossed for me for tomorrow!

We're linked with you guys as well, and I was able to get in although it took me until about 12:20am to finally be able to view the correct screen & book brunch. Try again before you contact DU! I snagged 11am Palo on the day at sea.

Just popping in to say hi!

Will be on this cruise with mom (me 32, Mom 54), a friend of hers decided to travel along with us but in her own stateroom. Mom and I havebeen on the Magic 3 times and are booked on the Dream next year, but this will be our first time on the Wonder. Mom's friend this will be her first time on DCL at all - so we're looking forward to showing her how Disney does it! Had some DVC points to burn so we figure a short cruise in conjunction with a couple of days at the world would be a perfect summer vacation.

Stayed up last night to book Palo and spa appointments. Got dinner, brunch, and tea at Palo and massages booked for mom and I, plus a pedicure for me. We didn't book shore excursions other than bike rentals on CC - planning to stay on board in Nassau so thats when we did our spa appointments for.

We booked this cruise so long ago we almost forgot to plan ... seemed like it would never get here. But finally last week booked our airfare and hotel (Boardwalk) for a short stay afterwards. It's finally starting to hit me. We are going back ... Yay!!!
Was on at midnight last night getting our Palo dinner and brunch (11AM at sea day) reservations. Registered the kids for the clubs a few minutes ago.
I will definitely be popping in more now. Looking forward to sharing the excitement with everyone!

We are also spending a couple of days at Boardwalk after (Villas). And one night at Bay Lake Tower before!

Hi! Did I read your entry correctly? There is a tea available at Palo's on our 5 night cruise? I did not see an option for it on the reservation system. I would be very happy to go to it. Can you tell me where you found it?

Thanks, and welcome!

I'll be up at midnight in a couple of weeks to hopefully get our Palo reservations. We have to wait until 75 days out because this is our first cruise. Fingers crossed... :)

I sent my check in last week and Disney still hasn't posted it so I can't go online and make our plans! :confused3:confused:

I was so excited about getting in there early and making our Palo and excursion ressies!

We paid a few weeks ago and just booked our airfare. We're expecting snow again tonight but nothing like you all up in the NE part of the US. But we've also had a long cold winter and I'm ready for warm beach weather. Airfare finally went on sale from Airtran and then to our surprise they opened up a direct flight from Wichita to Orlando. Some may not understand how big of deal that is but there are really no direct flights from here to anything but a hub. I had to beg to Airtran to waive the 75.00 per ticket fee as I'd already booked and it worked! So now all thats left is the packing!

We are flying out of Wichita also for this trip. We are flying on free tickets on Delta, so not able to take advantage of the direct flight.

Well, our check finally posted this afternoon and my TA emailed me immediately and told me so I went online and started making ressies and of course, the first one I check is the Palo Brunch and they were all booked!:sad1::sad1: I was so bummed! DH wasn't very impressed with the dinner at Palo's when we first cruised and I was so hoping that he would enjoy the brunch since I have heard that it is better. We had not so great service our first time and the long wait and rocking seas made DH have to leave without eating the first time we went.
Oh well, if any of you guys that have already booked a Palo brunch decide you don't want to use it, we would be happy to fill your spot!!:rotfl::lmao:
Glad we got our other stuff taken care of and the bill is paid!:thumbsup2
It's snowing here in the South and that time at WDW and the 5 day cruise sure is sounding good right now!

Free is much better than a direct flight in my opinion! Great job with that. Ever since we booked our tix they have gone down in price. Added a direct flight and gone down in price again. Today I get an email that they've changed the arrival time on our flight home to 11:30 pm. As long as they don't cancel it I guess I shouldn't complain but for weeks I waited for things to happen with no luck. I guess they were just waiting for me to make my move.

By the way KSUCATS, I'll be rooting for your team on Wednesday. I'm a WSU fan at heart but would love to see the Cats beat the Hawks.

Saw on your other post that you are using DVC points. We are thinking of joining DVC. Do you mind me asking - did you have any problem using the points towards the cruise? Always thought the Boardwalk would be a great home resort. Was going to try out the villas on this trip - but then was able to get a great rate on a Deluxe Room Club Level that I couldn't pass up.

Yes - it was in the same place as the other Palo reservations. When I first went into Palo I think it asked if I wanted dinner, brunch, or tea. I selected tea. Maybe they were all gone so it wasn't showing up?

Hi! Well first, I have to say...they are MOM's points....I'm just her most Disney loving child so I usually get the most benefit from them after her!

But this will be our 4th Disney cruise and we've always used DVC points for them. The one reason we aren't next year on the Dream is because we are going as part of the WDW Radio Podcast cruise so we had to book and pay for that one (but got a great price).

Anyway, we've met loads of people who don't like to use their DVC points for the cruise...they say its too expensive. But we usually stay on deck 7 with a veranda - and if you priced out the monetary cost to stay in that category of stateroom its very high. Instead, we use points. Mom's done the analysis on what her points cost her (she's been a member since the very beginning so her points are paid for and its just dues for her annually) and the math always works out to be more affordable to use points versus pay cash for a comparable cabin. This coming cruise, it was just under one years worth of points (we borrowed like 20 additional from next year for our pre and post cruise stays). We've had other cruises that were higher points and have had to borrow/bank more than that to do it. But with mom's lifestyle she doesn't necessarily get down to WDW every single year so banking/borrowing points and staying in a super nice cabin that we could never afford to pay cash for is a good deal for us.

Oh..and its super easy.....mom just called member services to book thru them. Its not a lot different than booking anything else DVC.

LOVE your Mom!! Thanks for the info. We prefer a veranda room on Deck 7 ourselves and you are right ... it's pricey! Staying there again this trip. I will definitely take all this info into consideration as we look at joining DVC. Thanks! See you around Deck 7!!

Not complaining but ...

JetBlue just changed the time of our flights. Coming back - not a big change. But going down we went from a 8:15AM departure to a 6:30AM departure. :scared1: Ugh!! Going to have to get the kids out of the house by 3:34AM to get into Boston for the flight.

On the plus side, more pool time at the Radisson.

I can't wait. I hope we can pull this one out. We were at the game in Manhattan & ended up very disappointed. My son wasn't too happy that we didn't get tickets for the game tonight in Lawrence, but there is no way that I could stand to be around that many Hawk fans at once.:rotfl:

Hey everyone! I posted about a month ago stating that I may have to change my cruise due to having chemotherapy...........well, I decided I'm going to give it a try and go for it! I was hoping to have a definate treatment schedule from my doctor but that doesn't seem to be happening right now and I'm not going to let that keep me from going on this cruise. I understand that I may have to cancel at the last moment if my blood count is low, but I think purchasing trip insurance will keep me safe if that has to happen.

So I look forward to meeting up with everyone in a few short months! I was interested in linking dining reservations with the ones who mentioned it but we have the main dining time.

Have a Disney Day!
Sherrie

Well that wasn't what I had hoped for but senior night at KU is nearly impossible to pull off. I think they just won their 27th in a row tonight. KSU will still be a #2 seed and hopefully will get another shot at them.
