Our neighbors have a bottle of Banfi in their refrig. They were saving it for New Years Eve, but never got to it, something about going to bed at 9 pm.

I'll probably be there when they open it! if all goes well.

Yes, I am calling the front of the line for my DW 17 months in advance. I'm also calling 20,000 post for me and 24,000 post for DS.

KiKiPug - We went to dinner at Guiseppes tonight and talked about the 10 day cruise. This was our "wrap up" meal. We talk about what we liked and did not like.

Both kids agreed that what made this cruise the best was knowing people before hand.

Glad to know someone is going on the cruise with us that leaves in the same town, goes to the same school, etc....

Yes, we are TRYING to keep it a secret til Christmas...
I doubt that I'll succeed in keeping my secret that long, though... I'll let you know when I slip up and open my big mouth...

Let me know when you slip up and tell them. When you do (or after next Christmas), we can get the girls together to meet before the cruise. Lisa really liked getting to know someone before the cruise. KT had met both Lisa and Lauren before the cruise and all three girls really hit it off. They had a great time. I am sure Elizabeth will enjoy the fun as well.

Dinner as a family is very important to us too, year round. (We eat as a family more than any family I know.)

We enjoy everyone eating together on the ship because it happens so rarely throughout the year. This is mainly due to Lisa's gymnastics schedule. She trains 5 days a week, so that pretty much elimanates her from our dinnertime. We do eat breakfast together each day, but. ..

Okay... time for an OHIO sun watch...

The last time we saw the sun was on Thursday Dec 30th, driving through Georgia on our way home from the ten-day cruise. Since arriving in Ohio, thick stratus clouds have completely blocked the view of the sun. It's been three days. How many days until we see it again? Any wagers?

We kept one of our christmas cruises a secret one year and told them the other two. We enjoyed the other two much more. In fact, we are all enjoying this one because the kids are watching this board.

I have wrestled with whether to tell them, but I figure, even waiting til Christmas, they'll still have more than 5 months to get excited and check out the boards. If it were just Elizabeth (DD12 at the time), I'd tell her now, but Christopher (DS9 at the time), would just make the next 11 months absolutely miserable.

Thanks for the scuba info... maybe I'll find the time to learn between now and the cruise (yeah, right)...

I figured out that you guys live REALLY close to us (I checked out anywho.com... no, I'm not a stalker)... we are practically across the street... well... the other side of Airport Rd....

I know the feeling... hubby coaches Pop Warner footbal... DD cheers, and DS plays football for a younger division than Ray coaches... so from Aug-November, we are lucky to see each other before bedtime!!!

BTW, my DS is listed as 10 at cruise time, but will be 11 1/2. Dzneprincess, could you update this the next time you edit our group info? I was talking to him about our first cruise. He mentioned that he didn't like it because he didn't make any friends to hang out with. Hopefully he'll be able to get to know the others (even if they are GIRLS!) .

We will definitely have to get these boys together. Cj will turn 11 in July of 2006SO is he in the 4th grade currently? That's what grade CJ is in. A big part of why we opted for May and pay summer prices, as opposed to SEp/Oct/Nov like I prefer. He would be starting 6th grade that fall ( yikes) and transitioning will be a big change for him, I did not want him to miss school.........sigh the things we do for the kids eh?

Don't worry it was intimidating to each of us before we joined in as well. I read, but didn't join in until 6 months before the cruise (a year after the thread had been started). Just jump right in, you'll feel a part of the group quickly. If you haven't been on the cruise lately, just ask questions. This is the group that can answer them. It will be fun to meet you all. :jumping4:

In otherwords, intimidate back!!!!! Hehe just be nutz and crazy too we will blend right in!!!!!!! IN 3 previous cruises and the threads I was part of, not one has gotten crazy so early in the game like this!!! WOOOHOOOO this is gonna be fun fun fun!!!!! I like it alot..............

Diana is right - there were a number of people that I talked a lot with on the thread that I got to spend very little time with on the ship. Diana is one of them. We even had plans to meet at Epcot after the cruise but both families were just too beat.

On the other hand there were some families that I didn't spend a lot of time talking to on the thread and I ran into them a lot on the ship and had a great time.



On each of my previous cruises, I hit it off best with DISers IRL that I didnt really know much about precruise! LOL THe ones that I was real friendly with, well we were never running into each other. That is why I started this thread so early, I figured it was enough time to get to know everyone! There will be a pop quiz people, keep notes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I made the mistake of telling the kids this morning that I have SeaWorld passes for next Saturday... they have driven me crazy all day!!!!!

I hope they will eat with us regularly... but I want this to be their vacation too... if there is a night that they want to eat w/ the kids (like when we try out Palo), I may try to give them that flexibility. Lots of time to figure that out, though!

That is how I feel as well. It is their vacation as well, and I just want them to have the time of their life. So it does not bother me if they do not want to eat with us, also we rarely eat at home period. We eat out a lot. Sad I know, I just dont have the time or desire to cook.
