Are any of our group DVC members. Just curious if anyone has bought the AP's through DVC at the new rate??

Pam

We bought AP's last fall, before they announced the discounts. We're going to upgrade to PAPs next time we go, though. With the DVC discount, it should only cost us about $10 to upgrade.

Duh! Of course the post office isn't open. Silly me. Well my 4 packages will have to wait until tomorrow. You would think I would remember this.

Yeah, well stupid me, I decided to take the kids (and invite friends) to the indoor play place. Forgot it was a school holiday. Also being 12 degrees out, EVERY kid in the town was there! Should have been a clue when I had to park in one of two remaining spots!! It was a ZOO!

We're DVC but bought AP's last September, so they are good until this September.

Boy, I'll say!!

It's like going to the lake or some other "public" camping area on Memorial Day. We don't EVEN do that anymore!!

Yeah, not smart on my part. But with the kids being homeschooled, I don't keep track of all of these 3 day weekend holidays since they don't necessarily affect if my kids do school or not.

Of course, I always celebrat MLK, Jr. day b/c I can do laundry during the day!!! We have a funky electric demand/load meter on our house that keeps our electric bill down (50% of what the neighbors pay) Because of it, I can't run my dryer between 8am and 9 pm M-F. So weekends and holidays are "laundry days." Seeing as how I was out of town this weekend, I get to celebrate MLK, Jr day with loads and loads of laundry.

And later....we take Maggie into the doggie day care place for an "interview." I've been having her study all day!!!!

Wow... there's the best excuse I've heard for not doing laundry!!!! "Sorry, hon, can't do laundry tonight... FPL won't LET us!!!!!" Can I even try that excuse?? (Meanwhile, my washer, dryer, dishwasher and heat (yes, heat... its cold here today) are ALL going... my meter must be spinning dizzily right now!!!)

Hey look... when you type a 'reason' for editing, it shows up in the post... this could be fun!!!!

That is exactly the way I feel. I would rather have the memories of vacations as a family then any other material thing in this world. I know that my kids will not be young forever! Heck I can not believe my oldest will be 10 this summer! Yikes, I will be 30??!!??! :earseek:  I dont feel like a 30 year old. I still feel like a young whippersnapper...........

You are a young whippersnapper. I didn't even have kids at 30. My sister in law as dreading turning 40, but I made her feel much better when I reminded her that her kids would be in high school when she turned 40, I would be taking my daughter to kindergarten at 40. My kids already know, their Mom is old and really doesn't care. :cool1:

Lisa would have preferred that to going to work with me. Matt was busy with his own activities and I don't want her to be home alone all day without supervision. Not that she is supervised a whole lot at work. She takes over the conference room to watch movies, eat popcorn, read, sleep, etc. Then I drive her to the gym by 4:30. Notice I am using my "home early" time very productively to chat with all of you. :flower1:

Our neighbors electric bill averages about $400 a MONTH (all electric homes)...so keeping ours at around $200 really helps out!

It just takes a little lifestyle change but it's worth it!

Sounds like a fun day actually. What I wouldn't give for a conference room to watch movies, eat popcorn, read and sleep in all day!!! Lucky girl...she just doesn't realize it yet. She will when she's older and has a job and a couple of kids of her own! ;)

should be about time for a TOP. did a good set up for myself on the last page...

but is there a pirate: lurking?

Amanda, I can't remember the exact price, but it's $100 off the AP, and $125 off the PAP. If you are a FL resident, you still get $25 off that AP price. Thinking of becoming a DVC member?

I have been thinking about it for 3 years now, and I would do it today, if my job weren't a threat to be cut every fiscal quarter :guilty: So while I would love to do it, I just cant right now. My DH and I both work in the telecommunications( for the local telco), and needless to say, it is not a very good field to be in right now.

We are DVC as well and renewed our AP about two weeks before the announcement. Oh well - we'll take advantage of it this coming December.

Those of you who have AP's and aren't Florida Residents can now get the Disney Dining Experience card for $50. This gives you 20% off dining (including alcohol) at a large number of locations. We have ours ordered for our June trip.
