OKW I see that we wil get trash and towel svc on day 3...i am assuming that if we need towels b4 that we just go to the fron t desk or call housekeeping or what? Also, how many towles are initially left in the room? We will be a party of 7? Also,
can anyone give me an idea of about how long it takes to take the ferry from OKW to DTD?

Also we want to get over to OKW asap on Sun 0521 to get our room keys, therefore getting access to our dining plan credits.......is pretty long wait to check in?? That is the on thing I hate about POP there is always a LONG wait to check in!
I forgot to tell yall that I needed a room for 05/19 and 05/20 bc my OKW ressie doesnt start until 0521..so off to priceline I went and wound up with the Gaylord Palms!!! The hotel looks awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone stay there? Review? Pics? Hints

Amanda if you are booked on points those are the only towels you will get. If you need more you will be charged for them. How many you get depends on the size room you have. With 7 people I'm assuming you are in a 2 bedroom. You should be fine with towels. Also you will have a washer and dryer in the room with you.

I'm glad to see that Coachpug is posting about the traffic. The tough part is that there are not any really good detours in that area. I'm sure we will come up with some before the cruise. Stay tuned if you are going to be driving the Beachline (yes, they changed the name).

Coach and Kiki are busy this evening serving a very important function. They are my fire break. Their subdivision is between fire and me so I feel a whole lot better knowing Coach is out there being my fire break.

Kevin and Diana, as you think about moving to Florida, just keep in mind it's not only the hurricanes you need to worry about, it's also the fires. :rotfl2:

And yes it does affect all of you who wanted me to pick up Banfi. The traffic was so heavy in our area because 95 being closed I did not get over to the wine store. May be this week after the reopen 95.

There are new fires now along 4 and 75, both are also closed for a stretch tonight.

Maybe we should be hoping for a hurricane.

Jim, sounds like Banfi is the least of your worries right now. Stay safe, and don't breathe too deeply when you're outside. Guess that means no running for a while? Do they really think this will last for a month?

Jim/Sharon - Karen/Ray - good luck and be careful....Our news tonight was focused on the fires west of town, not up north...we drove through I-95 closures with fires on both sides in 1999....

Let me just say - Please "pray for rain"!

Yum, Yum, yum...There is this great drink in a pineapple. have one or two for me...then have one for Hedgie...then - fall down!!!

The kids will love the show.....

And the fireworks, if you are there during the vent are piped in...

Can I come too?

PS - the mouse can spell. I cannot type.

Amanda, more details. What size unit are you in? How many days? DVC does a trash and towel halfway through your stay, and you get fresh towels then. Other than that, there's always the washer and dryer in your unit. If you're in a two bedroom, you will get more towels than if you are in a one bedroom, which has a capacity of four people.

We ate at O'Hana's last summer. Food was OK, servers were awful. There are other places we prefer, but O'hana will be fun for your kids. They can do hula hoop contests and coconut races.

Adding - OKW is the most likely resort to have your room ready when you check in, maybe you will get lucky. We've checked into OKW many times, and I only remember once that the line was bad, that was during our spring break.

Amanda -- you will love the Gaylord Palms. We spent a weekend there 2 years ago. The kids loved it. I payed $85 through priceline, then when we checked in, we were offered an upgrade for around $35 to a suite. It was spectacular. Had our own computer in the room to use and they kept the frig stocked with bottled water and juices. We would definitely stay there again. We were in the everglades section overlooking the atrium

Also -- you shouldn't have to wait too long at OKW, I have always had good luck at checkin, except when they didn't put us in a building that had elevator access and my mom can't go up and down stairs. That took some time to get us moved into one of the newer buildings.

Mad Prudentilla Read - I think I will keep her.....heh, if first you do not succeed.....at least I kept my last name....
Every pirate is a little bit crazy. You, though, are more than just a little bit. Even through many pirates have a reputation for not being the brightest souls on earth, you defy the sterotypes. You've got taste and education. Arr!

We had a very good experience at Ohana's in December. We thought the food was really good. Some of the best chicken wings I had ever eaten.

Amanda - here is a HINT - check in when no one else is checking in...then you don't have to wait in line at the Pop...Trust me it works... :teeth:

Pugs and Scubas, adding you guys to the Prayers and PD list! If you have to evacuate, be sure to take the laptops and check in. We don't want you to go missing!
