FYI- FROM THE LOCAL NEWS WEBSITE

Now that It's official, I-95 and the Beachline will be closed for at least the next month, everyday, during the morning commute from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. or longer in Brevard County, here are some alternate routes.

If you usually take State Road 528, you may want to use U-S 192, State Road 50, or State Road 520 to go east or west.

Folks traveling north and south should use U.S. 1 instead of I-95.

Of course, traffic is going to be much heavier on all those roads, so be sure to leave plenty of extra time and bring your patience as you head to work or school.

Ray - thanks for the heads-up on the traffic down there. I'm soooo glad that we are staying at the port on Friday night now. Just makes ME a little less irritable (can you imagine?) on Saturday morning.

Keep 'em coming with the updates.

Just in case anyone would like to add "The Few, The Proud, The Blabbermouths" to his/her door sign on Pirate night. The official Pirate translation is:

"T' Wee, T'Proud, T'Blabberbung holes"

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Coach, what you mean is, who hasn't gotten their docs that were IN ON THE BET?We on the West side of the country know better than to take a sucker bet like that.

That's our plan. I've always said I do NOT want to do laundry while on a cruise, but I'm also sick of schleping 8 suitcases! (usually we do cruise and then WDW, so we have stuff for BOTH) You will probably even see us in the same outfits at dinner b/c since they are only worn for 2 hours, I think they are getting recycled. This is cruise #8.....I've tried it one way 7 times and it's just TOO much.

This is number 10 for us and I have learn from time to time what to cut down on, I used to take so much and then it would be either worn for 2 hours or not at all!!! Aubrey doesn't mind doing a load before we leave and I think actually prefers coming home with a load or 2 less to do when we get back!!!

Keep it on the inside of the door so you can enjoy it but it doesn't get stolen - :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

Oh my goodness. I've got enough to pack without worrying about the things I need to pack so I can enjoy them IN my stateroom. I'm not even IN my stateroom that much!!! And if I am, I'm sleeping or on the verandah....or sleeping on the verandah!

I think it would be nicer is some fellow cruiser didn't feel entitled to anything I hung on MY stateroom door! Surprisingly, this was also the cruise where my MIL got an official DVC/DCL magnet stolen off of her door. Just ridiculous!

Does anyone know if either the Radisson or the Hyatt have laundry facilities? If I can throw a load of laundry in Fri. evening at the Rad, then I won't have to pack as much. And we'll be hanging at the Hyatt all day after the cruise waiting for our flight. If they have a laundry, I could take home all clean clothes!

Love coming home with no laundry to do :thumbsup2

My bad... Meant magnetic door signs/stickers! Something fun to stick on the door the night of our pirate party! pirate:

So what's YOUR pirate name???? :rotfl2:

Mine is Capt. Buckthorn Varlet

or

Cap'n Carl Firecrotch (been using the top for awhile now!! Gotta admit, I kind of like the other one....... :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I did that for all 4 of us a while back and made a design which if I get time I am putting on shirts for us to wear for pirate night. Kinda cool but with the amount of hours I spend on the boards, at work etc I don't seem to be getting much done!!!

How are y'all packing already? We need to wear the clothes that we're packing over the next 2.5 weeks. I guess I could pack our dress clothes but that's it. I'll be packing on Wed., May 24 & finishing on Thurs., May 25. We head out on the evening of the 25th.

Ang

I never pack this early - the night before under pressure is when I am packing plus my clothes would be all wrinkled if I packed now :rotfl2:

Maria - can't answer the kids club question but I can about the iron. Don't bring it! They aren't allowed in the rooms. There are irons in the laundry rooms you can use instead. Irons in the rooms are considered a fire hazard.

Look at that - another UTOP. This time with Maria!

I was gonna post the same thing but decided some-one had definately said it by now :lmao:

2.) What is a message fish mentioned on this thread?
the message fish is a hanger/holder that is outside each stateroom door. I'm sure that someone can come up with a picture.

3.) What does the U in U.T.O.P. mean? I'm lost now. LOL
UTOP is an Unexpected TOP. Comes from replying to posts but not counting how many are on the page and getting a TOP.

Can't answer the other questions. We're not taking pirate clothes, either, but are hoping to find pirate-related shirts somewhere at DTD or at Ron Jon's. Otherwise we'll just be in tropical, also.

BTW Sandi and Shelley we are noght doing the pirate night thing either

I'm not sure why I'm more excited....that I got my docs or that we don't have to buy the first round of drinks!!!!

Wish I were -- at least TA says mine are in Tampa - now they will be sent out to me......

Oriental Trading, US Toy, or Kipp Brothers. I got them from one of these companies. The library is doing an island theme for summer reading, so I just order with them, or I ordered some things the same time as Sunday School ordered Easter and split the shipping cost. Kipp Brothers is my favorite; boxes get here 2 days after I order. We're surprising ds with a peg-leg pirate teddy bear that we got from Kipp when we get on board. Almost 12 years old and he still likes stuffed animals (he'd die if he knew I was telling on him, no offense Bear and Hedgie).

my kids also like there stuffed animals, not attached to any specific ones, DD has never been into dolls though :confused3

I don't know about stickers, but I do have a lot of Pirate tatoos for the kids. I'll have to check how many I have and how many kids. Maybe I need to order more.

Speaking of gicing things out, I read a thread on the main board about DISers giving stuff out to fellow DISers once onboard...the only time we did something like this was at halloween time....some of the ideas on the thread were really neat, but please tell me I am not going to feel like a shameel (sp? real word? whoknows) LOL for not having thought to bring anything to give out to yall?!?!? I like yall and all that, but I dont think about stuff like that! LOL
