Pam, I haven't packed a lick yet! all I have is a few things I've purchased The kids have so much going on with end of school. I swear the schools around here really get mega active at the end of the year! You know- the normal parties, field days, but also plays, programs, field trips, etc. I always attend or volunteer at all of them- x 3 kids it adds up to a lot of time! Muffins for mom (at schools and church), grandparents day which includes mom coming on disabled van and I have to be there to help- she can't come on her own, etc. etc.
Plus we're finishing up soccer season on the 20th- so we have soccer practices during the week- games on saturday (x 3 kids again LOL) and Girl scouts x 2, Boy scouts x 1, awanas, running team x 2 and their races on saturdays also. Lotsa birthday parties (people always try to get those done before the end of the school year- reminds me I need to get my youngest's invites out before the end of the school year- her party will be right after we return though), a wedding... AND we have dentist appts, oldest has to have physical before going into middle school (7th grade), dr appts, oldest band solo/ensemble next Tues & concerts at the park on 21st, GS & BS end of year parties/ceremonies and extra activities, oh the list goes on and on! And yes, everything I have listed is AFTER today's date. That's not counting the stuff I've been doing the past couple of weeks. Oh and add to that it keeps raining on Saturdays so they keep cancelling the games- so then we have to make up games. x3 kids when we already have 3 games on saturdays if it doesn't rain- ahhh calgon take me away!

I'm glad I'm not you....that schedule would leave me far too little time to DIS. :) :lmao: :lmao:

If you LOVE your Disney 3D post card, be careful. Mine was stolen on the DVC cruise! :( :(

will be making 160 buttons! We are going to have a great group!

Wow. That seems like a lot. Is that a cruise record?

I do have questions though please!!!!!!

Oh and we're not participating in the pirates stuff.
2.) What is a message fish mentioned on this thread?
the message fish is a hanger/holder that is outside each stateroom door. I'm sure that someone can come up with a picture.

3.) What does the U in U.T.O.P. mean? I'm lost now. LOL
UTOP is an Unexpected TOP. Comes from replying to posts but not counting how many are on the page and getting a TOP.

Can't answer the other questions. We're not taking pirate clothes, either, but are hoping to find pirate-related shirts somewhere at DTD or at Ron Jon's. Otherwise we'll just be in tropical, also.

Nope - we did 205 for the 2005 DVC Member Cruise!

I am SO not messing around with all of the
things.....if I said it, it's in purple. If BBB said it, it's in all different colors except purple! :)
I do have questions though please!!!!!!

1.) Where is the "kiddos thread" I saw mentioned here?

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=866171 ---teens and tweens

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1094833 --tag-a-longs

2.) What is a message fish mentioned on this thread?

It's the metal fish that hangs outside your stateroom door. It's good for attaching messages to. Or little gifts and surprises.

3.) What does the U in U.T.O.P. mean? I'm lost now. LOL

A "U TOP" is an "UNEXPECTED TOP." My dd coined the phrase on the teen/tween thread and I stole it. She's still trying to collect royalties.

4.) Where would you suggest to buy a little liquor and some beer (for the cruise) between MCO and GF? We'll be taking limo and have a grocery stop. We have no idea where to tell them we'd like to go for liquor/beer for the cruise and would really appreciate if anyone could tell me the best place to go instead of trusting them- they might take us somewhere that only has beer or is the most expensive or something?

Can't help you. We're schleping all of our own down b/c most of it will be the wine my mom and dad made. :)

5.) If anyone is interested in scuba diving in Cozumel we are booked with Dive with Martin for 3 tank dive and it will be less than $100 (for the dive/tanks/taxi to them- not counting tip though). Let me know if you are interested or if you are going to book so we can hook our ressies together. Martin has said we can all save 10% if I get more people to go with us and he'll wait for us if we're not there by 9am also. PM me or email me if you're interested. so far it's just my DH and one other teenager of a member of this board. :)

Sorry, not interested. I hate water and dh's eye will explode out of his head if he scuba dives (b/c of glaucoma surgery he's had)

6.) Does anyone know THE best and THE strongest sunscreen for the face to keep the most sun out? I've been working on some pigmentation issues on my face for some time now (pregnancy mask I got with my pregnancy with my son 8yrs ago) and although I haven't got rid of all of the dark blotchesl- my skin will have a tendency to immediately get darkened quickly again if I get sun on my face. I have some spf 30 stuff I use on a daily basis but I thought I'd ask if anyone knew something that really really works well for keeping most of the sun off the face since I'm going to be in the sun a LOT on this cruise even with trying to stay out of it as much as possible. I use spf 30 sunscreen, then spf 30 tinted cream, then powder makeup that has sunscreen in it (when I'm going to be on the sun- like saturdays for soccer games LOL)- but on the cruise I doubt I'm going to be constanting slathering on layers of sunscreen PLUS makeup. Atleast I don't want to have to wear layers of sunscreen AND makeup the entire time if I can help it! If you have any recommendations- lay them on me please!

Bullfrog was mentioned here about 3 weeks ago as being a really good sunscreen. I also recommend a hat with a big brim.

7.) are the bags and shirts going out soon? Just curious. I haven't been able to read all the pages for awhile now- just the past 10 or so each time I check the board lately... haven't seen anything mentioned about them sent. I shouldn't be worried about those yet, right?

Should be early this week Pam said. There were some issues with having to order more for some reason.

I think that's it for now on the questions- thanks so much for your help!

Oh and we're not participating in the pirates stuff. We just can't. Well I'm not going to spend the money on the stuff to dress up for that and I'd already bought our entirely family matching clothes (dresses/sandals for the 3 girls, shirts for the males of the family) in the Tropical disney stuff back before our last cruise! Good thing I bought BIG because they all still fit. well my dress is going to be a little tighter than I'm confortable with really but I figure it's for one meal- it won't kill me and I just can't stand the waste of the entire family matching (for the first time in our lives all of us with matching outfits LOL) just because my dress is a little tighter than I like. Anywho- we'll be wearing that instead. I hope we won't stick out like a sore thumb- sounds like everyone is going to be doing the pirates thing. *pout*

I know our table will not be doing Pirate night as pirates. We'll all be tropical. So you will not be alone.

Speaking of door signs..I have no artistic talent..

That's me, no talent. Ours will be the lamest door signs on the whole cruise, I'm sure. We still have the magnetic paper left over from our signs on the last cruise, but I printed them on plain paper and laminated them. I just have to remember to take some magnetic strip to hold them up.

Yeah, but I mean compared to the awesome ones that I've seen on here. I'm going to ignore you, just like I do the smart alec that I'm married to.:snooty: Maybe I can get dh to come up with something different. He's the artistic one in the family.

WOW! Cannot WAIT to meet him!!!! :lmao:

I have a few things in suitcases. I was awake at 4:30 this morning worried about what all I was going to pack, and have to get new lanyards at W-Mart because I don't have a clue where our old ones are at. I'm going to try to not overpack and do laundry at least once onboard. Also planning on buying t-shirts at DTD, so won't have to pack as much to take, just leave enough room to bring more home.

That's our plan. I've always said I do NOT want to do laundry while on a cruise, but I'm also sick of schleping 8 suitcases! (usually we do cruise and then WDW, so we have stuff for BOTH) You will probably even see us in the same outfits at dinner b/c since they are only worn for 2 hours, I think they are getting recycled. This is cruise #8.....I've tried it one way 7 times and it's just TOO much.

:scared1: Like I'd ever notice, except when we look at our pictures and see the OM family looking the same in every dining room picture. I'm debating on whether ds needs more than one pair of pants. A lot depends on if he eats dinner with us every night or decides to hang out in the club a couple of times. I'm packing one pair of pants for dh besides his suit. Actually, I'll let him pack, then I'll take out 3/4 of what he puts in.

Does anyone know if either the Radisson or the Hyatt have laundry facilities? If I can throw a load of laundry in Fri. evening at the Rad, then I won't have to pack as much. And we'll be hanging at the Hyatt all day after the cruise waiting for our flight. If they have a laundry, I could take home all clean clothes!

Have a great Monday, everyone. I'm off to do laundry and some more packing. I'll pop in later.

Is anyone doing Pirate night stickers?

I don't know about stickers, but I do have a lot of Pirate tatoos for the kids. I'll have to check how many I have and how many kids. Maybe I need to order more.

No need to order more. I think I have a gross of them...

Has anyone actually started packing anything in suitcases. I have a section in my closet where I have stuff hanging up. I am starting to panic a little bit that I am not going to have enough time to get everything done in the next 18 days. Need to work on the list of things I need to still pick up at the store.

Yes, I HAVE. Mostly my stuff is in a suitcase. I went shopping and was trying to match up stuff and just decided to put in the suitcase instead of on a shelf in the closet. I have all the boys' stuff out on the bed which will go in a suitcase this week. DH is another story. I NEED him around to pack his stuff and that's a rareity at my house.

I have 16 days before we leave the house for our vacation. OMG, will everything get done???
