Well, must run. School for the kids. Plus an orthodontist appointment for Nick and an ophtalomologist appointment for KT. Wow, shouldn't schedule two long "o" doctor appointments the same day.

Then, also on the schedule....I need to complain to the siding guy that we think the shutters he ordered are too small. They won't look good and I don't want them put on like that. Sigh.

I was just going to walk back to the Radisson after dropping off. It's not that far, unless it's pouring down rain or something. I do the driving in the family, partly because I can get carsick unless I'm driving and partly because DH drives all week long for work and likes to sit back and relax. Besides, he's my navigator.

Sandi - that sounds good to me. Mind if I join you?

I agree, the Sox usually will falter right after the All-Star break and then kick back in gear in Sept, just in time to make the playoffs....

Looks like another good play-off year. That's if the Yanks make it. They always make ya crazy at one point or another. We're supposed to be going to the game tomorrow night. That's if it doesn't rain. Keep your fingers crossed. My DS, AJ can't wait. It's our 1st game this season.

I was wondering where you were!! You have lots of posting to do to catch up: We each need to post at least 19 per day. :rotfl2:

Glad someone missed me. Bruce had to spend all day in the yard yesterday so I had to keep the girls entertained.

Looks like I'm going to have a hard time keeping up with the 19 posts per day rule.

It is has been a busy couple of days. This is the first time I checked in since Saturday morning. Saturday was Matt's birthday. He finally got his official set of Jeep keys. He does not have a full license so I'm still in control.

The helicopter lesson was a great big hit.

It was suspose to be about 2 hours long, but ended up being 4 hours. The instructor spent a lot of time with Matt going over all the equipment. Matt got to help with the pre-flight check list. They were in the air for 60 minutes and Matt got to fly half that time. It was a pretty cool experience.

We tried to meet up with Virgil since they were in WDW, but our schedule got messed up. We did make it to the Pie Festival, but got rained on. It did not stop Matt and Lisa from eating. They eat pie for 2 hours.

Big fun.

You will have a buddy for sure this trip.... DH flew for the army for 10 yrs... scouts, huey's and cobras.... You al can get together and talk that 'pilot talk' :goodvibes

Don't worry the Logo will change once FB season starts....then you will have to look at the Patriots Logo

I just got off the phone with a friend whose family took a cruise last week (non-Disney  ). They stopped at Costa Maya - she said it was fine, but she didn't understand why - when they were getting back on the ship, the crew insisted everyone clean their hands thoroughly with hand sanitizer AND that the crew were all wearing latex gloves. :rotfl2:

So I told her the story about not being allowed to donate blood for a year.......... :scared1:

WHAT!?!?!?!

I missed this.... someone tell!!!

If you go to Costa Maya (on a ship, on a land based vacation...doesn't matter) the American Red Cross puts you on a list and you cannot donate blood for one year ---Costa Maya is a "malarial risk" country.

From the American Red Cross website:
Malaria
Wait 3 years after completing treatment for malaria. Wait 12 months after returning from a trip to an area where malaria is found. Wait 3 years after living in a country where malaria is found.

The countries that have NO malaria risk in any area are as follows, listed alphabetically:
Albania, Andorra, Anguilla, Antigua/Barbuda, Aruba, Australia, Austria, Azores, Bahamas, Bahrain, Barbados, Belarus, Belgium, Bermuda, Boznia/Herzegovina, Brunei, Bulgaria, Canada, Canary Islands, Cayman Islands, Chile, Christmas Island, Cook Islands, Croatia, Cuba, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Diego Garcia Islands, Dominica, England, Estonia, Falkland Islands, Faroe Islands, Fiji, Finland, France, French Polynesia, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Greenland, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Guam, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland (Northern and Republic of), Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kiribati, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lebanon, Lesotho, Libya, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Madeira, Maldives, Malta, Marshall Islands, Martinique, Micronesia, Moldova, Monaco, Mongolia, Montserrat, Nauru, Netherlands, Netherland Antilles, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Niue, Northern Mariana Islands, Norway, Pacific Islands, Palau, Pitcairn Islands, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Qatar, Reunion, Romania, Russia, Saint Helena, Saint Kitts, Saint Lucia, Saint Pierre, Saint Vincent, Samoa, San Marino, Scotland, Seychelles, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tokelau, Tonga, Trinidad/Tobago, Tunisia, Turks/Caicos Islands, Tuvalu, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay, Uzbekistan, Virgin Islands, Wake Island, and Yugoslavia.
You'll notice "Costa Maya" is not listed. So therefore you have to wait a year to give through the ARC.

Btw, at my last donation I asked the person about it and they confirmed it. Even though I told them that we'd only be there 8 hours and I wouldn't get off the ship if that helped....but it didn't. You pull into port in Costa Maya and you're ineligible. :( Guess it's a good rule. I wouldn't want to GET malaria from a blood transfusion!
