I faxed my DCL health form to my doctor's office today and asked them about going to Costa Maya. They reviewed the CDC website today and recommended that we all get HEP A and HEP B immunizations. DH and DS have had the HEP B, but I'll need them both, now. There wasn't any concern about malaria. Now I have to find out if our health department has the HEP A vaccine and get started. The HEP B is $32 per shot, and it's a series of 3.

Uh, oh - it may be easier for us to just stay on the ship -- or would that not make any difference? How much time in between each shot?

OK, bring on summer!

I just spent the last hour and some swapping out my winter clothes for the summer ones. (Now watch us get another cold snap...) Felt so good to put away all those sweaters and bring out the shorts. Of course, I'm in no mood to actually put ON the shorts (must... work... out... more...), but I feel one step closer to packing for the trip!

The HEP B is first one, second one 1 - 2 months later, third one 4 - 6 months after the first dose. The HEP A is first one, then second one 6 months later. Dr. wasn't concerned that we'd only have 1/2 the HEP A done. We wouldn't bother, except that we're going to do the tour with Ivan and David with the lunch at the Mayan village after. If we were on a DCL tour we wouldn't worry, either. But better safe than sorry. And we do want that Mayan Experience.

Our occupations: DH is a gas troubleman for the local utility company - changes gas meters, finds gas leaks, stuff like that. I work part-time at the local library, and don't work much at all when I'm not at the library. Our house always has that 'lived-in' look.
