You'd better be sitting down for this one or you'll fall down laughing.

Mike had a kidney stone. He had horrible, colicky, intermittant pain. After a week or two it went away. Then a week later, he passed a stone.

**********
The report comes over.
It's not a uric acid stone.
It's not a calcium whatever stone.
It's not a (fill in the blank with 10 different kinds of stones)

It's.....it's.....it's.....quartz! Which is silica...

which, you guessed it...is a major component of kitty litter!

DRINK WARNING - saved since I am reading backwards...

Um, did you say Mike is a physician? You sure? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Morning Irene - Got the Smithwick yesterday. Salesperson told me 'Smithy is a good choice'. Also picked up some Mike's Hard Lemonade for Liz (on sale of course).

:flower1: Good morning cruisers! :flower1:

Happy Thursday!

Karen & Maria - hope you are feeling better.

Pam - have fun at WDW!

I peed bullets before. Well, it did SEEM like it, anyway....

It may have seemed like it, but did you go as far as to take them in to be analyzed? Hee hee. :)

Ohminnie....I hope you feel all better in the morning!

Thanks. I was hoping so too. But I don't. Well, right now I'm not chilling--I started that again at 5:30. Did NOT sleep well b/c the arm is HORRIBLE. There were only two positions I could sleep in and neither is the one I LOVE to sleep in. Moving from one to another required me almost sitting up, flinching, spasming, and then moaning on the way back down. Not lovely. Mike wanted to see it today....he was brushing his teeth. I knew it was not pretty when he stopped brushing and stared. It's about the size of a goose egg and all red and hard. :( He said "you should take benadryl all day."

Well, so much for getting anything done. I think I'm skipping piano lessons today--bummer b/c we'll miss the next two weeks between our vacation and the piano teachers. But I don't think I could actually GET there. Especially on Benadryl. :(

Hopin' the fever doesn't come back....

Maria, how is DS this morning? Strep hits our house hard for DS or me about once or twice a year. Hope he has bounced back :jumping1: :jumping3: :tigger: !
Same for you OM.

Saw the Costa Maya Hep A discussion on the main boards. I don't know whether or not to bring it up with my dr. or not. It's a little late to get vaccinated for that, now.

And a UTOP, to boot!

Yup, I'm sure. But he is neither a urologist or an adult doctor. Last time he had any experience with kidney stones is back in medical school.....a LONG time ago.

I do not doubt he really had a stone. His pain was horrible and right where it should have been for a stone. Just not sure where the REAL stone went. :)

So we should ask Matt everytime we see him; "Hows it hanging, dude?" :rotfl:

I know you can get away with it because you will ask in your Surfer Dude voice. :rotfl2:

We went to Target tonight. Did you know you could outfit your entire bedroom in "monkey"?
Monkey sheets, monkey lamp, monkey pillows.........lucky for you, this isn't a Christmas cruise, you'd be leaving the ship loaded with monkey presents!
No fooling?? Monkeys are in?? I'm shocked! My monkey is shocked!!

Good Morning all. Finished my powerpoint late last night and I just have some final things to add after I get to the office. Left some of my info I needed there. Didn't sleep well, must be worried about all Ihave to do before leaving. My mom and dad are coming through tonight (they got delayed several days), so now I will have company this evening too. I am not packed and I also have to get Ashley packed tonight. She is going on her confirmation retreat this weekend, so Charley and Dale are on their own this weekend. I still have to write a letter to send a long with Ashley (it is a surprise that they give the kids at a point during the retreat that is pretty emotional and amazing.) Anyway, I sure hope I get everything done today. Have a great day all

Hmmm....interesting. I am overdue for Tetanus. Only about 5 yrs overdue. I asked doc about it and he said I could get it if I want, or just wait until an injury and then get it, I'd be ok.

But maybe I should go back and get it...don't want an injury when I'm out of the country. Does DCL stock the tetanus vaccine?

Although, right now I'm a little gun-shy about vaccines!!!!

It's not Fri. but this reminded me of ...

Shock the monkey by Peter Gabriel

Shock the monkey to live
Shock the monkey to live

Cover me when I run
Cover me through the fire
Something knocked me out' the trees
Now I'm on my knees
Cover me, darling please
Monkey, monkey, monkey
Don't you know when you're going to shock the monkey

Fox the fox
Rat the rat
You can ape the ape
I know about that
There is one thing you must be sure of
I can't take any more
Darling, don't you monkey with the monkey
Monkey, monkey, monkey
Don't you know you're going to shock the monkey

Wheels keep turning
Something's burning
Don't like it but I guess I'm learning

Shock! - watch the monkey get hurt, monkey

Cover me, when I sleep
Cover me, when I breathe
You throw your pearls before the swine
Make the monkey blind
Cover me, darling please
Monkey, monkey, monkey
Don't you know you're going to shock the monkey

Too much at stake
Ground beneath me shake
And the news is breaking

Shock! - watch the monkey get hurt, monkey

Shock the monkey
Shock the monkey
Shock the monkey to life

Karen, I'd want to hold off on the vaccine until the symptoms from this 1st killer shot are gone. :wave2:

Hope you're feeling better real soon! :goodvibes

Sandi - i was just going to post about that discussion and get Virgil and Mike's (through Karen) opinion on that.

I'm thinking we won't need it because we don't plan on leaving the ship in Cozumel and only shopping in the port area in Costa Maya. However i am interested in what they have to say.

Pam, Have a safe trip. BTW, there's "no room at the inn" at WDW next week. Glad we booked early! :woohoo:

I've thought about it since we're going on the tour with Ivan and David which includes going to the ruins and then the local village for lunch with a family there (I am packing plenty of immodium even though we plan on watching what we eat/drink there). I don't know if I should be worried about Hep A or not. Maybe I should give my dr. a call today, just to see.

Maria - take care of yourself and your little one as well....

Have you moved in 7 years - could be allergies that you did not have exposure to before???? Hope you can find some relief!

No, we haven't moved in the last 7 years, but we did just put on a big addition. I didn't think of that before. Hmmm.
