Oh, she might. The kids were devestated b/c a finch had built her next right on the top of our pillar (it overhangs a bit) which put it JUST under the soffit. The soffit that was going to be replaced. And there was no way to replace it with the nest there.

So the crew took the nest down, did their work, and replaced it. Mama bird DID come back, but the nest was now unstable and she sat on the edge and it flipped up. And the eggs all fell and cracked. Three little finch eggs and two bigger cowbird eggs. :( :( They tried.
We put the nest on top of the propane tank close to where the truck was parked, but haven't seen her. Talking about the soffit, I did notice several starlings (grackles) flying around our garage where part of the soffit blew out at the beginning of the month. I'd better check and see how many are nesting in there. Those I'll just trash the nests, though. Already too many around.

I went to Wal-Mart today to have my pictures printed out (to see how the new camera is) and walked out $100 lighter. I hate that store. It's as bad as BJ's. I swear I only went in for one thing....

I went in with a really short list, but ended up with a couple of small wipe-off boards for the stateroom door, a small journal with pockets to keep receipts (since I'm not taking my laptop) and a new pen for the journal. All told I spent around $28 for stuff not on my list. Then I come home and see that we needed milk!

We ran in to a family that has done DCL multiple times. She recommended a Bullfrog spray-on sunscreen for the girls. She and her DD have red hair and are very fair skinned. Anyone else ever use this?

Ang

We have used it quite a bit. Used to be blonde hair/blue eyed. now am grey with blue eyes. Very fair skinned. The Bull frog keeps all the sun away

DS just got home and said the birds made a nest in his friends bike helmet and there are little baby birds they were making noises waiting for mom to come back with food.

IMHO is we get anywhere CLOSE to that this is going to be an EXTREMELY boring thread. I, personally, like to follow what's going on in ppl's lives---laugh with them, cry with them, pray for them....but with over 490 posts a day there will be too much to even wade through (especially if the server is as slow as it is today) and all the parts that make this group special (the bonds of friendship) will be lost just to get to a certain magic number.

Hey, I may be odd man out thinking like this, but I dread the thought of losing the friendships just because shameless post boosting take precedent over relationships.

Stepping down off my soapbox now.

Yeah but see it is all relative..who is to determine what is too menial to post?:confused3 There are a lot of people that are cruising with us, that do not post because they do not like the trivial things we post about our day to day lives...same thing could be said for TOP parties and milestones. Its all in how you look at it, and I see it all as fun. But, if others are feeling the same, and looks as though they are, then I guess Ill shut up now.

I agree in part - posting just for the sake of posting (with the exception of racing to a milestone) , can get tedious to wade through... But, I have a feeling without the magic number of 19 hanging over our heads, we will make it pretty close without even trying...(look at how much we posted this weekend talking about favorite authors...)

Ray, you're excused - it's your birthday after all!

Running into the grocery store on the way home from work, at lunch is really dangerous...that's when various items that aren't on the list magically appear in the cart...the bag of Reese, potato chips, ect... That's why I try to send John on the way home from his work - he's much more disciplined...

DH is just as bad and loved those choices of ice-cream in the freezers!! Part of my problem is I never make a list so I'm always forgetting stuff I need and come home with lots of things we definately don't need!!!

4pm works for us. Please put down Mark and myself (ok put us on the list don't put us down). :) Sorry to hear Sharon and Lisa won't make it but hopefully you'll have Matt carry our box over and everyone who shows up can get their buttons and navigators early.

That works.

Thanks for posting the directions on your site.

I had 3 bags of brown sugar and 2 big jars of strawberry jam in my pantry for a long time. I kept thinking that I needed them, so kept buying until I got it figured out.

Nice! Even better when you can get your daughter to get up to see a sunrise like that!!

Getting her up is the easy. Getting her to go outside when it is really cold, below 75 degress, it is the tough part. :lmao:

Fine with us, but if we eat at 4, Matt will be ready for second dinner by 8. And Alicia would probably join him.

Sharon and Lisa will be missed. Do they want some take-out?

I really do think they won't have Friday night gym because of it being the holiday, but we will see. No carry out for them. If they do go to the gym they eat during the day and not when they come home.

Knowing what Matt eats at JB's, he will be all set until Parriott Cay on Saturday when it is "included"

Hi folks - I hope everyone is having a great day....am off to Ft. Myers for 3 days of meetings etc...and not much time to check into the boards...so someone else, please post for me to keep out count up.

Take care...later.,.... :wave2:

niss chatting with you guys,,,,

Amanda, have you met Sharon and Lisa yet? It sort of brings new meaning to the phrase "better half". (insert pokey stick guy here)

And I'm the one that packs her lunch/dinner for the next day. It is already in her carryout container for tomorrow. :cheer2:

When was the last time your husband packed your lunch/dinner 5 days a week? (insert pokey stick guy here)
