Sorry, haven't heard of anyone using Priceline for a hotel near the port, doesn't mean it can't be done. I think the Hyatt and Marriott mentioned are near the airport. We've done that several times.

Is this our first DIS meet? How far from the port is JB's? We'll have a car, so I'm not worried about getting there, just convincing husband that JB's is worth the drive.

I can't help with distance but yes this is going to be a pre-cruise meet. For the Florida locals and anyone who is getting in early enough on Friday. i think we get in about 10 am and we're staying at the Hampton Inn at Cocoa Beach. If they don't have the rock shrimp (which is one of the things I think a lot were looking forward to) I'm sure we can find someplace else to all get together.

Maybe the jeep has gone to its rightful owner. Hasn't Jim said all along that the jeep belongs to Matt? I'm thinking he's probably fully licensed now.

Yikes! That reminds me. In two months, our DD is eligible for her learner's permit. But she can't take driving school until we get back from the cruise, so we'll wait.

No, the jeep is still in the garage. In fact, I ordered Matt's Christmas present today. A new top for the Jeep.

I have been keeping it in the garage during Speed Week so it does not rain.

JB's is only about 20 miles from the port, as the crow flys or manatees swim.

However, by road it is about 60 minutes.

Good morning all!

I set the alarm for midnight & registered the girls for gymnastics. This morning when I got up there was still one spot left so that means that there were no OTHER crazies that got up in the middle of the night to do as I did. I'm ready for the 75-day online ressie now ... BRING IT ON!!!

I never did get up the nerve to actually feed them....did you all? I was a little skeeved out by the whole feeding thing....just the fact that I was able to get myself in the water with them was a big step LOL

Sorry, have to disagree with you. I have one of those 11 year old girls and I think having just one 11 year old boy on the ship is one to many!!

If you pray... can I ask that you just send a little general prayer our way? Don't want to get into a long drawn out story to explain but let's just suffice it to say that we're having some issues with my two oldest and their disabilities and yes... that's part of my moodiness lately (all over the place- stressed out worrying one minute, okay the next, not sleeping well, etc.) and we could just use a little boost of prayer please.
Another appt with son today... and conference with his principal tomorrow... hope (and pray) both go well. This is me right now >

Just be sure you know what your "signing up for" when you start the girls in gymnastics. Especially if they progress to the Competitive Levels. IF you really want to know, just have a chat with Fran or I on the cruise. We will be "happy" to fill you in. Jim even learned a lot (I probably was better off with him not knowing) about the gymnastics process when we had dinner with Fran and family at the Magic Kingdom when the girls competed at Wide World of Sports in January.
