I was referring to the ppl who are stumbling drunk. Do not drink to that point. And do not particularly want to be surrounded by ppl who are like that

We had one of those on our last cruise to Bermuda... the guy ended up getting into a huge fight in a bar right next to the pier, falling down and breaking his leg. He spent the rest of the week in the ship's hospital, and was taken off the ship in handcuffs after we returned to the states and led to a judge for an extradition hearing, as Bermuda has VERY strict laws when it comes to doing stupid things while intoxicated.

Happy Valentines Day!!

In your opinion maybe.. not in mine! LOL

Okay so they are interested to look at -but not to swim with (in my opinion ofcourse LOL)

BBB - Question - do you have a Passporter yet? You may wish to invest in one so that you have ahandy refernce book. We did for our first cruse and it was a good resource.
No, I do not have one and I'm not going to get one. I'm not spending more money for this one time cruise on something that would just answer questions that I can get the answers here. That's what this board is for... ask questions and good folks like yourself have the answers. :)

Thanks for your answer about breakfast- appreciate it!

Do you by chance have a twin who lives in the Boston area?

Actually, the main cruise board is the better place to ask cruise related questions. The meet board is a chance to get to know your fellow cruisers who will be sailing with you on that particular journey. :lmao:

Before you pay for the cruise, are you sure you would not be happpier with a land trip, such as one to St, Thomas where DH can dive, dive, dive and you and the kids can go to the national park and hike. They may even have a dolphin excrusion there. Or perhaps the Eastern Cruise would be more to your likeing, with St. Thomas and St. Maarten. These ports are not hurricane damaged. There are 3 sea days, not 2 so you would be able to enjoy the character breakfast without a rush. There would be less chance of a change of plans...Look at the website and think about it. It might suit you better with less chance for disappointment for the amount of money you are paying.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: We've long since been paid on this cruise... pardon me for laughing about 'before you pay for the cruise' (oh and the part about me and the kids hiking together) Couldn't help it. LOL
But that just figures that Eastern would be better... Eastern is what we originally had planned for Feb 2005 cruise but had to postpone it until this cruise. LOL

Ohiominnie... thanks for the report of your experience with the dolphin thing. Perhaps God is looking out for me because he knows my patience level might not be able to stand all that with the 3 kids BY MYSELF... perhaps he knows it would put me in a grumpy mood and a little "not pleased" with DH that he was off scuba diving alone while I had to do that. LOL

IMHO, I think you underestimate your children. There have been things my kids have REALLY wanted to do that we've been unable to do for various reasons. We sit down with them and explain the problem and we problem solve. I can imagine your house one evening when you explain to them that you REALLY want to take them to the dolphins but yada yada here's why you might not be able to.....BUT, you've talked to some people and yada yada yada are fun alternatives.....get the kids pumped up about something else....

YOUR ATTITUDE is infectious....if you're sour about it, so will they be....if you're positive and excited about it, they will follow suit....it's a choice you make for the good memories of your family

I wasn't sour about it myself (because personally I was going to have to overcome some of my own demons, fear of being in the water with the dolphins!!!!, to do this for my kids in the first place... so it's not all that upsetting to ME if we don't get to do it LOL) but I could understand their disappointment when I told them we might not be able to do that. I did go over other things we could do.. they weren't interested. I can't blame them, those things didn't sound like my cup of tea either. They said they'd rather just stay on the ship in the club/lab. LOL

Oh Ohiominnie... your posts are cracking me up. Especially the aforementioned cracks part. LOL
(ps. same reasons I dislike sand. LOL)

It doesn't matter if you're paid in full (you) or only have the deposit down (me)....at THIS POINT there is NO penalty for cancelling your cruise. If I cancel, I get $1,000 back. If you cancel you get, what was it? $10,000+ back.

There is no fee for cancelling or changing now....

NOT that I'm saying you should. Just based on OTHER PEOPLE'S assessments that you'd be happier on an Eastern.

Oh, I FULLY believe God is looking out for you. But you need to do your part and trust that He is. :) I'm more of a plan things but let them take their intended path kinda girl. I know that when I've fought all signs that something was NOT RIGHT for me and I've done it anyway, I've turned out miserable. As many on this board can attest to, I bought a dog against EVERYONE'S advice and against all rational thoughts. God was putting up big red warning flags and I was burning them all down as I saw them. :) Wished I'd have listened better....

but then again, I do have a nice $6,000 fence in my backyard right now... :lmao:

COOL! An unexpected TOP shared with God....oh...and THE BEAST!

pixiedust: pdfg (a TOP shared with God and pdfg...that's GOT to be good!)

BBB - Did not recall you had already paid up - but you may be able to transfer back to the Eastern. I have not cruised enough to know the specifics, perhaps there is a thread on the main board. I recall a discussion with the cruise director on board when we were discussing future cruises and travel insurance. Transferring to another cruise was an option at that time.

And consider the 9.48 Passporter book as a good investment. The extra $10. should not be that big a deal, and it comes with an Index! very handy. Especially if the dolphin swim is cancelled due to weather. This happened to the folks on our November cruise and they needed to find alteranate plans the day the ship docked as they did not know.

Also, I looked at the Nassau cruise and the Dolphin swim there is rated very high. For St. Maarten, try to google St. Marteen and dolphin and you will find a good site.

Happy Planning!!!!

PS. Stingrays are cute!!!!!!
