We still have not told our kids about the cruise, why I just don't know, this will be there 4th DCL and they have done 2 others including an 11 night so I am not sure why I haven't told them about this one - haha.

This morning I had a little panic attack in the shower about leaving the kids for 2 weeks while we cruise in Alaska, not worried about them, it's leaving them with MIL that suddenly panicked me!!! My parents are 5 minutes away but I just hope she doesn't drive them crazy!!! :goodvibes

Called my TA and he said he'd "go to bat for me" on Monday. We'll see. LOL

I'm sure on Monday everything will be sorted out and you will get the bookings you want.

Thanks for your confidence in this matter. Hope you're right! :)

Good Morning! Not sure why I am awake (or even IF I am!) since it was such a late night.

Mary...I think you're 100% correct...I think the problem that BBB is having is due to the fact that one room has "early booking" privileges and the other doesn't.

Sharon...I don't think that will happen when you go to book yours, but as far as Palo is concerned, all you need to do is to hold the time slot even if it is just in one name. There won't be a problem for the second person to go also (remember, there aren't any tables for ONE! ;) ) or for that matter, even if you were doing a party of four. Did that make sense?

And before any of our other new cruisers start to worry about not getting the treatments they want in the spa....or excursions..... I'll try to explain how it works, because there is no way that all of the appointments are taken!
If you're booking a massage, or a nail appointment...whatever... There is only ONE nail person....and only a few massage people.....so for each day for the nail girl there will only be a slot once every hour. So if you were wanting to go at 11:30...there won't BE an 11:30 time. There will only be an 11:00 and a noon.
Got that so far?
For other treatments, you have to factor in the time it takes for each treatment. If you have a massage that takes an hour, then there will only be an available massage every hour. Nothing on the half hour or quarter hour.
I can see where it would look like there isn't anything left, if you don't know how this works.
So if a person wanted, for example, an 11:15 time for a certain treatment....it may not be that the treatment is "sold out"...it may very well be that there is NO treatment AT 11:15.....you HAVE to be flexible.

No cable at our house, so I'm stuck watching the Reader's Digest Version of the Olympics... :sad2:

This is the one sporting event that international coverage is so much better - Canada's coverage was awesome of 2000 summer Olympics in Sidney. Also stayed in Paris as a summer exchange student during the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics - all three channels showed replayed the sporting events during the day - start to finish including medal ceremony whether or not France was in medal contention... :thumbsup2

:tink: pdfg

I set you up, Monica! I should have been counting the posts......:thumbsup2

We're looking at alternative COZ excursions in case the dolphins aren't back. We would like to do dolphins on our own, but since there is not a set date, thought it would be safer to go through DCL. DS wants to do the jeep tour. I'm a little skeptical, though. Anyone do this through DCL or on their own?

We did it on our own and had a great time. You can check Cruise Critic. They have lots of info about Coz.

We are having a cold and gloomy day here in ATL, haven't been out yet but planning on if I can remove myself from this laptop.

For my 40th I got a massage certificate and manicure/pedicure so saving them to use the week before we leave on the cruise, my mom once had a massage while travelling in Hong Kong and whatever they did they messed up her back and she was in pain for a week after that and it ruined her vacation, so I stay away from these kinda things while vacationing but love to go to the spa here. 'renew day spa' is the one I love here.

Good morning to you too!

Yes, that is why I'm having problems. I booked REAS so we could book early but it's only letting us book early for the guests in ONE room, not our whole family. If we'd been in ONE room (not two staterooms) this wouldn't be an issue.

About the spa times- I wasn't referring to particular times, I was referring to comparing other days and the times available for those days vs. the days I wanted (ofcourse at sea days- what everyone wants LOL). IOW I wasn't saying I wanted 11:15 and it wasn't available but 11am wasn't. No, wasn't saying that. I'm saying like other days would have 9am, 10:30am, noon, etc. and on the day at sea I wanted the treatment only the afternoon times were left, nothing before noon- and such like that. So it is obvious that the am times were scooped up by that time already. LOL

Ps. on another note.. cause I'm tired of worrying about this reservation thing. LOL Any of you have a "secret" way to get grease splatter stains off a shirt? You know- like hypothetically say you were cooking fried eggs and bacon and it decided to all the sudden on the LAST egg you were cooking to go ballistic and splatter grease all over your shirt? If you have a secret, let me know... I've never been able to get grease stains like that out -spray n wash or shout never works on it. I got CREAMED by my grease just a minute ago. We're not talking one little splatter- it's all little spots all over my shirt. *pout* --- Ideas?

Thanks, Jim. I knew that I'd read about this from someone somewhere in the past 20,000 or so posts. I've been over on cruise critic, but not for awhile.

All I can conclude from that is that they MUST hold some slots back....they would have to.....because there's always something still available, even for those who book when they get on the ship.

Yeah - what's up with this weather anyway?!!! I need to get out too - keep waiting for it to clear up some. Did you hear how cold we're going to be the next few mornings in Atlanta?

I've heard lots of good things about Renew. Guess I'll have to try it sometime!

I need to correct myself. I was thinking....I know, I shouldn't.....about that whole spa thing.... it IS possible that something like the Exotic Rasul could book up, because there's only one room.

Yeah, the rasul only had TWO times (one each day at sea) which I thought was odd.

But on another note- what in the WORLD can we all do as a family (which means atleast allow ages 5 & up), on Cozumel, AFTER Jeff gets back from this long scuba dive? It's atleast 9-2pm plus time to get to wherever we meet him or the ship... there's NADA on DCL that we can book after that??

I'm still waiting and hoping for the dolphin excursion which I'd do with my kids without him- but anything else I'd rather do with him... there's nothing to do (excursion wise) after 2pm and we're there until 10:30pm?!?

BOY I REALLY could use some of that relaxing time getting my nails done and that suriiaul spa thing GREAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

could I have a chocolate schuffle while having a spa treatment :cool1: :thumbsup2 :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

GOOD ???? OKAY HI EVERYONE ONE

way lots of work to still get done today, lite snow about 28

WISH I WAS ON THE EAST COAST FOR THE snow :confused3 :confused3

gaRry

Taking the girls to the mall. :scared: If I don't survive, it's been nice getting to know all of you. Have fun on the cruise. And you can raffle off my spa ressies and excursions.

Hi gaRry! Talked to Vicki last night. They were having WAY too much fun! And made me way too jealous! She said to tell you "hi"......:wave2:

Trust me, if there was a way to have the chocolate souffle DURING a spa treatment, I would have figured it out a loooooong time ago!

May as well boost us to another T.O.P. Who will be the pirate: this time???
