A TOP for CRUISE HELP

Need Cruise Help Please --- The magic night we make our reservations, Sam has booked us for a dive trip with manatees....Sounds like fun. BUT......how will I make reservations??????

Now I need to see if the laptop works out of town, or I am driving back to home.....I'll start by calling hotel to see if they have internet access - at 3:00 am, I doubt if a cafe is open.

Any other suggestions???? What good computer stuff do I need on my aged laptop - I am not sure if it has a firewall?????

Pretty cool, Scoopie! You're having so much fun, you may never want to leave.
But I am curious....has anyone asked the "story of Scoopie"? Here in Cave Creek, no one thought it was weird...but we have weird things in Cave Creek all the time.

Yes. He is having fun. But he's looking forward to going someplace where he doesn't have to do school. :)

My family asked about the story behind him. My parents, since they've cruised with a huge DIS group, seemed to accept it, but everyone else looked at me like I was weird.

Brutus, apparently, picked up Scoopie and turned him around and around, shrugged his shoulders and then handed him back to Nick. Brutus is mute so he didn't verbalize what he was thinking. :)

Good Morning - We have news - I was able to speak with "big brother's" wife and "middle brother" last night. Things are not as dire as both "middle brother" and I had been told.

Good news! It's hard to get information once it's passed through several people (think telephone game) Glad you received some more positive news. :)

I was cracking up when I saw this. :lmao: Where in the world did you find those goggles? This reminds me when my SIL found sunglasses for Flat Stanley. Thanks for the laugh. My DH thinks I'm crazy...that means you guys, too.

Stacey, thanks for the dinner rotation info & Monica, thanks for reposting. I printed it this time. I was dreading having to go back & search.

Scoopie looks like he's having a great time. I love all of the pictures. The dive ones were so cute.

Hope everyone has a great Tues.!

VIRGIL - I need help. I can't find a Steeler's jersey, T-shirt or anything. Being in the Giants/Jets market, Steeler stuff is hard to come by. Is there a place near you that still has any XL(size)? I used to have a jersey...but I outgrew it...hahahaha. Let me know.

Thanks.

Does anyone do the high tea at Palo?

Ang

Mark and I have done high tea a few times and really enjoy it. We first did high tea together at the Grand Floridian on our honeymoon and it always brings back those memories.

Ang - we did High Tea at Palo and (as I have posted), I was disappointed. I think it was the only thing on the cruise which did disappoint me.

First - a disclaimer - my Family is British and we have strange notions about tea.....Water must be at a rolling boil, not under a heat lamp etc. High tea is to be savoured, not rushed.

Second, this was the time of the 14 foot seas and the crew may have been as green as I was, some were.

Tea begins with champagne, and your selection of teas. They have a good variety and this variety is repeated in the Cafe, if you do not wish High Tea at Palos.

The view of course is magnificant.

The tea offerings are traditional small sandwiches, and if you wish more, they will bring them, unlike other tea services.....

Then you have your selection of sweet pasteries.

Then they bring you something they call Triffle - it is NOT, but it might be an "American thing".

Our service was poor. We were rushed at the beginning and then we had to ask for several of our offerings. They were not crowded - see comment on 14 foot seas, so we did not understand. Service at Palo's for Brunch and dinner has been super.

Somehow, it was just not the relaxing experience we have enjoyed elsewhere.

Would I do it again - NO. Would I discourage you from doing it - NO. Would I discourage you from doing it if you were considering another option in the same time slot - YES.

And, I would be apt to order tea from the Cafe, and room service, and have our experience on the Verandah......

Hopefully this helps. If not, well, there is always the delete key. Which we cannot do on the boards, but you get my drift.

Mary - you will see I disagree about Palo's but I AGREE 100% about Grand Floridian. We took High Tea there when they first opened up the offering. They had some rough spots but it was wonderful. We go back peridodically and have never been disappointed. We were there this last Jan. trip - aaahhhh - how nice.....They did not even mind that we were late (over 1 hour check in at the AKL that I had not budgeted time for.)

Now I am in a good mood thinking of High Tea at GF - so I will go to work....

Mary & Irene, thanks for the info on high tea. Irene, the only high tea I've ever been to was in London. I can't remember exactly where ... is there a Brown's hotel or something like that? Would I need to make ressies ahead of time for the high tea or is it just something I can get once on board? I'm not sure Bruce would want to do it, though. Maybe someone else on the board would be interested in going with me if there is not something else going on.

Ang

Our only High Tea was in Victoria, BC. It was quite nice, if I remember. It was BK (Before Kid), and my memory of that time is vague. :hippie:

Irene, some decent news about your brother, glad to hear it. Will continue prayers.

Maria, you can find anything on Ebay!

There's an annoying Steelers fan in our subdivision who puts his Steeler's flag ABOVE the American Flag on his 20' flag pole in his backyard (which faces the main road)... would you like me to steal it for you? (Sorry... I'm patriotic... that drives me INSANE!!!!)

But at least I got a TOP!

Good Morning!

Two things....I'm still curious as to why it is no longer called "Tea With Wendy" and instead it is "Tea With Alison"....and who in the heck is Alison???

And....I may be in the same "boat" as Irene. My parents want me to come visit (ICK...it's WINTER there!) but because of a wedding here, and a shower, and then Disneyland in March, it looks like the only time I may be able to go up there, would be the same time that I will want to be making all of my reservations/excursions, for the cruise. I can use my lap top there, but I won't have a printer.....do you think I would need one? Or should I just (do it the old-fashioned way) and call?
Basically a minor thing....but still.....

Stacey, I think the characters at the tea now are Alice and the Mad Hatter. Someone must have just gotten Alice's name wrong.

So that would make her "Allison... the Mad Hatter." (Who knew his first name was Allison??? :confused3 )

I saw this on a car this morning and HAD to stop and take the picture!! Michigan fans will like it!!
