The one good local movie reviewer had it in his top 10 worst of last year, and we both liked the original so much that had no inclination to go see a remake.

Me neither....or is it me, too? Either way, I agree with you. I liked the original so much I didn't care to see a remake. Same is true with "Cheaper by the Dozen".

:cool1: A T.O.P. with Mark! We have to stop meeting like this! ;)

Stacey - yes I got the picture. Just been a crazy crazy week. Hopefully I can take some time tomorrow and put it up. Sorry.

I haven't gotten anything from Monica or John.

Oh thank heavens! I thought you were going to yell at me for sharing a T.O.P. with your hubby! ;)

Take your time, I was just curious....

Punny Archaeologist:

Archaeologists were digging in Norway. They discovered a large statue of
the Norse god Thor. The statue had two large gemstones for eyes. Such a
statue had never before been seen. The two leading archaeologists both
wanted recognition for the find. They began to fight over who made the
discovery. The other archaeologists gathered to watch. Eventually, the
lead archaeologists called a truce. As they walked away, another
archeologist said, "That was clearly a fight for Thor eyes."

What are you doing up in the middle of the night??? I have an excuse at least....I had to drag LISA off the main boards again. I swear, I go to bed, and she gets up and comes out here and just goes crazy!! ::yes::

Cold here - we hauled in orchids and tender palms last night so our porch looks like a tropical greenhouse.

Had a long day friday - out of town, no posting...and yesterday began the undecorating in earnest....However, the tree is still up. That will begin today.

It is cold, but clear. We had a patio fire last night, even the cat joined in. Not sure what he thought of the entire episode. Today Mass, car repair, more Christmas to undo and Football. Both Florida teams lost yesterday, unless Jax pulled a rabbit out of a hat at the last minute.

What have all of you been up to? I ill go see...

Good Morning All - Stacey, you are braver than me. I may look sometimes but very rarely post. And the 'other' cruise boards are even meaner!

Keep it up all year! Why not? I have a few very special "Christmas" items that I keep up all the time. I like looking at them. I do keep them in the bedroom, so that visitors don't think I'm whacky (oops, too late!) but actually, they're safer in there...I don't want them to get broken.
I bought Megan a Pooh and Piglet Snowbaby decoration this year. So cute!

True confessions, I keep up the waterford trees and snow babies with a single sting of white lights until Valentine's Day or so...Or this year, perhaps until the Olympics....They look so pretty. I call it winter. As we had to frost proof everything last night, I have added Euchris (sp?) liliies to the display.

What happened? I had high hopes for both teams! At least the Panthers still have a chance. Had an opportunity to go to the Panthers/Giants game today. No way, too cold and too old, to sit outside.

I came out to talk to Lisa, but I guess I missed her. I wanted to talk about the smoking post on the main board. Lisa probably would have had lots of things to say when she was tired. :rotfl:

Sue it's not that you are too old. You are just showing wisdom & maturity. :sunny:

Let the fools freeze their butts off while you sit at home and watch it in the comfort of your own home. That is wisdom!

Thank you, Sir Scuba. A very kind and gentlemanly thing to say. Especially after we froze your family in April (sorry).

Sue

I'll be pulling for the Panthers too. I don't blame you for not wanting to sit in the cold. That doesn't sound like my idea of fun!

COOL :cool1: ... a T.O.P. with Sue and the Carolina Panthers.

DH is starting to get into watching football, I haven't got into it yet and don't plan on it, it took me a while to have the patience to watch baseball as it is so slow - he is a Braves fan as when we arrived a guy from work took him to a game and explained it.

We went to our first hockey game and had from row seats in November thanks to the car dealership and that was loads of fun, it was fast and loud.

Mary, I was just thinking....did you get the picture I sent you of Monica and I?

Monica...did John ever send Mary a better one??? :flower: Mine was blurry. I discovered later that it had been set on "night shot".

I didn't get it...

:rotfl: I just nagged John on the way home from church to get the picture posted...I'll be sure to tell him that if he doesn't get on it - both you and Mary will be in line nagging...

Didn't the kids have to read "The Outsiders" in Middle School? I seem to remember that.

Jordan saw the remake of "Yours, Mine & Ours" last night. She said she liked the original better. I find that's usually the case.

"Stay gold, Pony Boy"...I loved that movie - we had to read the book Freshman year...just before it came out on movie...

I agree - YM&O in the original was much better - this was cute - but, not the same. Maggie and I saw the remake - there was plenty of slapstick to keep her in stitches. But, it's hard to do it better than Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda...

I'm distressed about Steve Martin's remake of "The Pink Panther" - Peter Sellers made bumbling an art form without being campy...The Pink Panther series has been some of my favorite all-time movies.

Just bought a belated Christmas present yesterday - 5 of Fred Astaire and Ginger Roger's movies are released into a box set...I'm so excited!

I love hockey - especially college hockey - I was introduced to hockey in college and almost attended every home game. Our team historically is very strong - many athletes go on to play in the NHL, so it was a fun way to get hooked on hockey. I haven't been to a game since I graduated...

Speaking of college hockey - Ohiominnie isn't around for me to have fun gloating - but, it was a sweep!!!

BGSU defeated OSU...Go Falcons!!!
