Woo Hoo, didn't realize it was time for a top!pirate:

Hope nobody flames me here, but I ended up cancelling our royal dolphin swim this week. Not knowing when the Dolphin Discovery would be up and running again and what condition,I decided that was too much money to play with ($660 for the four of us.) Abi told me it would take about 4 weeks to get refunded because of all of the cancellations. Even if they got back up and running in time, I was worried about tendering and making it to the park in time to not miss our swim time. I have heard of others on the main boards who still have not gotten refunds after 6 or 7 weeks already.

We really wanted to do this as I don't know when we will do another cruise after this one. If things look better closer to time, maybe we can rebook.

We've never swam with the dolphins, heard it is amazing but DS is not a strong swimmer yet so I have been postponing it. We took them to the great barrier reef in summer and he would not even snorkle.
I would love to do the sleepover at discovery cove and heard it was great.

I always say you have to leave something to do for next time else you have no excuse to go back!!!

We did the dolpin interaction and swim at Discovery Cove a few years back and all loved it. The water is not real deep (about belly depth for an adult) and the guides/trainers are very good. Your DS would be thrilled!

Pam...no flames at all! That's a lot of $$ to take a chance on, I don't blame you a bit.

I enjoyed my semi-lazy day today, but at least I did mail my packages and finally get all of the household mail done. Obviously my "boss" didn't kill me. He saw what I had gotten done here and wasn't mad....he even took me to Bad Donkey for dinner.

Tomorrow, though....and for quite a few days after that...I have to put in full days at the office. What's that I hear?? :charac2: I thought so!

Good Morning - up early - must drive across the state - oh joy. Had a late night last night as well. But tonight - I must start with the undecorating....I must, I must.... :teeth:

It is still predicted to be way too :cold: for our tender plants....

Thanks, Sue. I'm here every day; usually several times a day. I just don't have much to say lately. I did make our final payment today, and boy did that feel good!:cool1: I printed off some shore excursion lists for DH to look over. I'll have to remind him over and over again to look them over. I can't understand how I married someone who doesn't have OCPD! We won't be going to Tulum. I don't think that I could take the ferry ride. We'd like to do some ruins in Costa Maya, so will be looking for reviews on those.

Keep me posted as well on the CM ruins. I have some website booked marked at the office I can pass along tou you later.

Bags, what bags........another one to add to the collection would be great, I have a thing with beach bags, love buying but never want to use them so I have a shelf full and DH wouldn't let me buy any on either cruise last year :confused3

Hey Julia,

These are the bags.

Pam (BWVPam) is coordinating the list of those that want them. I don't remember how much they are but think somewhere around $20-25. They come in either royal blue with black or red with black.

Good morning cruisers!

Happy Friday!

We're still up for a bag as well!

Pam I don't blame you at all for cancelling. That is a lot of money and at this point I think it is hard for anyone to determine how things will be in May.

Good morning all....

I, too have to start to undecorate. I hate this part. And because we went to FL early in December, we basically only had them up for about a week before Christmas. I hate putting things back. I will iron clothes all day, but you put them away!!!

Everyone have a great day. TGIF!!! Now all the sports start up again. We had a brake with all the holidays.

Gotta get the kids off for school.

Maria

Undecorate? How can I think of undecorating at a time like this? I've got to get ready to get on a cruise ship!! Yes, I should be in the shower, but I had to check in one more time, didn't I? Mike and I have discussed the option of leaving the tree up year round. It's in the sunroom and it is SO beautiful. The windows are reflective at night and the lights just look beautiful. Only downfall is the cat....we have to close the sunroom off from the rest of the house or the cat will climb the tree! It's at least staying up until January 15th. :) No choice about that now.

Well, this is it. Have fun, but not too much fun. :) I'll try to eat a creme brulee for each of you (not one for the lot of you....one for EACH of you!) Try to warm up the Eastern seaboard before I get there. 55 degrees will feel too much like home.....I want HOT! :)

See ya! :grouphug:

HAVE FUN....WE'LL MISS YOU!!!! HOPE IT'S HOT FOR YA...

BON VOYAGE!!!! AND ALL THAT GOOD STUFF.

Have a great trip! It's a balmy 50 degrees this morning, and predicted to be much colder on the next 2 mornings... (sorry to be the bearer of bad news!)

Enjoy!!!!!!

Have fun Karen and Mike!! Enjoy the cruise and don't eat tooooooo much. :teeth:

Look at That!!! A TOP shared with Karen, Mike, cruising and eating!! Doesn't get any better than that! LOL :rotfl2:

I really want to go to Discovery Cove ... I know that we get some sort of employee discount, but I've never called to see what it is, because once I find out I KNOW I'll want to go. Elizabeth wants to go too... we've already got Busch Gardens planned for her b-day in Feb, so maybe next year for her 13th b-day... that would be pretty special. The new park might be done by then, as well.

Friday's are supposed to be the easiest day of the week... not today.. I've got so much to do at work, and a presentation to finish for a 2 PM meeting... tonight, I've got the middle schoolers from our church youth group for 'Movie Night' at our house (the parents take turns).... so its a few hours of junk food and 'tweenagers... the dog and the little brother are going to be going crazy.

Karen, Mike, Nick & KT, have a great time on your cruise! I hope there is some warm weather for you.

None here either, Pam. I've been keeping a loose eye on reporting sites, and I'd be surprised if they're back up by May. The only real report I've seen sofar was a very early one that basicially said the entire park got wiped off the island. :( Sounds like that area got the worst of it. As much as I'd like to see Tulum, I'm really deciding to skip it this trip again because of the conditions. Probably not even going to get off in Cozumel at all. I'll firm up that decision more when DCL starts going back there.

In the middle of a big boiler mess right now. Worked long Wed, Thurs, probably today, and will have to go back in on Sunday. Happy new year alright...

I'd like to too someday. Have done Dolphins in Depth at Epcot, but sofar nothing replaces the stingrays at Grand Cayman. That was a very awesome experince for me and nothing I've done before or since can pale it as an aquatic encounter.

OK... I just said I was busy, and shouldn't be back DIS'ing, but I just got my daily 'busines briefing' e-mail, and thought it was ironic that this bit was in it, given the present dolphin coversation... for anyone heading toward Miami in the future...

Seaquarium Wants More Swimming
(Friday, Jan. 6, The Miami Herald)
Short on rent, the Miami Seaquarium wants to open its dolphin tanks to more people. The 50-year-old marine park fell nearly $2 million behind in its lease payments this year as it struggled to finance badly needed repairs. Now the Seaquarium has begun construction on a new pool designed to dramatically increase its swim sessions with dolphins. The park usually offers about 250 slots a week for $149 sessions with dolphins between shows at its Flipper Theater. The new pool could accommodate that many swimmers a day, General Manager Andrew Hertz said. The Seaquarium's new dolphin pool is scheduled to open at the end of the year. The Seaquarium itself has been closed since October by Hurricane Wilma and expects to reopen next month.
Now I'm getting back to work... I promise... but I have gotten a lot done in the past 1/2 hour...
