Amanda, I hope things work out for you at work. We want to have you on this cruise.
Amanda - me too as well. Hope things are better in the new year.

Glad to hear that your MIL was totally surprised and excited about her trip.

Amanda - I'll add as well --- what great gifts you eneded up with and I enjoyed the photo-story - I bet she cannot wait.

Happy New Year Everyone!
(and a top to bootpirate:)

Went to church this morning and the pastor had a really good sermon. He told us that those of us in church this morning are the only ones with the possibiliy of perfect attendance in 2006. I thought that was terribly funny and laughed out loud.

Well, looks like everyone has finally gotten over the stomach flu. Charley is now sick with bronchitas and we are hoping the doctor's office will be open tomorrow. He sounds terrible. Our little dog got sick yesterday and I had to take him to the animal emergency room. That was a nice little price tag. But I know that if we had waited until the vet's office opened, he would have been in bad shape. He had a abcess on a gland. Our little dog always seems to get sick when the regular vets are closed. he is doing lots better. He messed up our New Years Eve plans. we were going to go to an early movie and dinner with the kids, but really didn't want to leave him alone for any length of time.

I am ready for everyone to get over being sick. It has not been fun with everyone being sick.

Have a great year everyone!

Poor Charley - Poor doggie - everyone get well.....like TODAY!

Stacey,
That captain doesn't even look old enough to drive a CAR, much less a SHIP! I prefer an older, more experienced captain behind the "wheel" of my cruise ship. But I will admit, he looks like he has a lot more personality than a lot of the DCL captains I've sailed with!

Well, second apology went out to my brother tonight. I'm sure he'll hate it because I mentioned "God" in it. He is about the most intolerant "tolerant" person I know. What is it about tolerance? Why do they not tolerate the intolerant? :rotfl2: I'll tell ya though, I'm sick of apologizing for my part in the argument and having him continue it. I need to just keep saying "I apologized and until you forgive me and we move on, then the problem is YOURS!" ;) Ugh...family. DCL take me away.

Too bad my cruise clothes don't fit....again! :( (sigh)

We can go thimp on the bro for you ......

I like the concept of PJ day much better than cleaning the oven day. Today is laundry day - and ironing - and football and parades. The oven cleaning will need to wait until it if cooler (self-cleaning but I'll recycle the heat when the temp is below 60).

Guess I should think about some undecorating, but the tree cannot come down until 12th night...so that is next weekend...

Does anyone here have an ING direct account? Now that it's January we are going to open one and I understand there are referral bonuses. Thought I'd offer the opportunity to make money to my friends first! :)

I know this is a banned topic on the budget board, so if you'd rather PM me and tell me what I need to do to give you credit, go ahead and do it that way. :) Looking to set this up before we leave for vacation.....that way our money can be working for us while we're gone. :)

I'm having a short pajama morning lounging and reading- about ready to jump in the shower then off to the Y to teach pilates...I just finished reading Rabbit-Proof Fence an account of three Australian aboriginal girls escape from a government "school" back to their families. It was written by a daughter of one of the girls - it was a facinating acount.

John didn't have his official holidays marked in his calendar and set off to work this a.m. only to discover the office is closed today... :rotfl2: He's a bit chagrined because he would have loved to have a pj day today, too...

The Christmas tree is coming down today plus cleaning since the in-laws are arriving tomorrow for a few days. Kids don't start school until NEXT Monday - Lord, help us all!!!

Well, we made it to Atlanta late yesterday afternoon. I managed to sleep for about 2 hours in the car whil Kristin drove. She did really well considering I have a 6 speed. She'd been practicing on her roommates truck - but decided that the Audi drives much differently than a truck..... Thanks goodness.

I crashed before 9pm last night - Lauren watched a movie while Jason, Kristin and some friends went out. Today's aquarium day. We go at 11am. Should be great!

Pam - hope that Charley and your dog are better!

Karen - It's almost cruise time for you - Hang in there!

Amanda - hope that things are better for you in the new year!

Time to sign off for the day of festivities!!!

Good morning, Jim. Stacey's up too? That would be around 2:00am for her? Is she in MT or PTime?

Maria

Yep...I was up until after 2:00. Funny, I couldn't stay awake for New Year's Eve...but I was up half the night last night. I should have been posting the rest of the reports on the islands, but instead I was just reading.
Right now, I think we're on Mountain Time. We were on PT, until Daylight Savings ended. We don't do Daylight Savings.
I decided I had better get to bed last night (this morning) too...before it was time for Jay to go to work!

Good Morning All - Pam, I hope your dog is feeling better! And what does 'clean your oven' mean, is it like 'iron your clothes'?

Happy New Year all,

I have been busy on the t-shirt and door sign threads and it has taken me days and hors to read them.

We went to a 40th party and then to Dave and Buster's for New Years eve, had a late night but it seems like the norm for this weekend as last night was the third night sitting up and ready these boards till early hours of the morning.

Tomorrow is back to work for me, DH had some meetings, it sucks being self employed.....and having to pick up the slack at home when DW is reading boards and not doing laundry, dishes etc

Ohminnie...I know this goes back a ways, but what you said about your brother...that's what we had to do with Jay's sister. I kept apoligizing (for what wasn't what either Jay or I thought was my fault to begin with) and she wouldn't let up on it, so we just finally had to quit talking to her altogether. I blocked her e-mails, we've read her letters, but not answered. It's sad...but there wasn't going to be a happy ending.

We recently met some big CEO of ING....my poor brain doesn't even remember where now. I know it wasn't on a cruise, it was here somewhere.....must have been through work. All I do remember is that he has skads of money, but you'd never know it, because he was really low-key and nice.
Oops...not to say that rich people aren't nice! Some of the ones we've worked with can just be rather....difficult.

I guess I should get going. Have to go gather a weeks' worth of mail, write paychecks, make a couple of important calls....and go get the little dog. Never thought I'd say this, but I really miss him.....can't stand the thought of leaving him there any longer!

That's the worst about getting back to reality for me- going thru the mail!!!

Plus the thought of going back to work, after 9 years at the same job I'm starting to think I'm part of the furniture plus sometimes with the stress I sounds better to stay on vacation.

Just hanging on the couch watching movies with the kids and some of it is really weird stuff about girls checking out guys places and spying on them and how they live while they watch from another place - DD likes this weird kids stuff being a tween. :rotfl2:

:wizard:

Has anyone else been checking out the designs on the t-shirt board - they are quiet amazing and I may just have to make some for the cruise along with some new door magnets.

I will have to make some shirts for the 15 of us going to Alaska too.

Okay I got the TOP
after all that.........hahaha

Okay can you all see I am really bored sitting on the couch

be wishing I was back here with the kids and relaxing

Just saw the Disney Float - it was magnificant as you can image - all the characters and fireworks and the castle.....Wheee...

ok - back to ironing and putting away the Christmas China (for some stange reason, it has to be washed first???)

Good day all.

Morning, everyone. Kevin went to work today, will have to call and see if he is the only one there. DD was gratified to learn that she doesn't have to go to school today (she lost count), so we are both still in PJ's. Will let you know how long it lasts! I am self employed too, so I plan to do some work today. But I can work in PJ's.

First, off to check and see if we can catch the Rose Bowl parade on TV!

I have 3 meets in January, 1 in Febuary, 2 in March, and 1 in April if I make it to regionals. Tell us how she does in Lightning City. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
