Hectic here - when we left, this thread was on page 1423 so I see y'all have been a bit busy while we were gone - no time to read all the pages. Any good stuff we missed?!!

Glad you had a good trip.

Let's see ... you missed Stacey's trip to Vegas ... had a little fun with Chip-n-Dale dancers. She and a lot of other folks around here were sick at the beginning of the week. Most are on the mend now.

Kids are all of school now.

I got myself and the girls up at 6:30 this morning. They need an earlier nap today since we're going to 4:00 mass this afternoon. After Bruce got up, I hit Super Wal-mart for groceries and other things. I was there for shortly after 7:00. I'm glad I beat the crowds.

Menu for tonight ... teriyaki pork tenderloin, asian zucchini, and sweet potatoes.

Menu for tomorrow ... Natchitoches meat pies and fried okra. Maybe something else will creep in to the menu ... not sure yet.

Meat pies - yum!!! My girlfriend is from Natchitoches - she brings back fresh meat pies for our New Year's Day celebration...gotta have those meat pies!!!

Well, I could have sworn it was just clouds & ocean. Maybe I wasn't really awake yet. LOL
Waiting for our driver now...and getting anxious. I can't wait to see the kids reaction to a non-Disney ship.
Monica, Maggie is a doll...of course Jordan liked her...be awfully hard not to!! Jay said "She is a cutie"

Trying to post, but getting crazy messages from the boards. Hope this goes through!

Kevin is making posole (hominy stew with red chile) for Christmas Eve at his folk's tonight. They live in an area that traditionally puts out luminarias for the tour, so that will be the first order of business. It was really fun when the kids were all younger, trying to light luminarias!

I'm picking up Alicia from her friend's house in a bit, and she will put the ornaments on the tree. We will open most of the presents in the morning. Dinner tomorrow is beef tenderloin, baked potatoes, asparagus, and a fine red wine. We have many desserts to choose from (gifts), but will also make a chocolate angel pie.

Then Monday, we diet!

:Pinkbounc :bounce:Merry Christmas to the Double Dippers! :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Just got back from Narnia - it was good - now, back to wrapping...

Stacey, hope your limo driver took you to the right port... :rotfl2:

4:00 Family Worship service and then 7:00 dinner with John's aunt, uncle and cousins...Kids are getting excited! I'm getting hungry reading the food posts!!

Monica -- Who is Scoopie supposed to go to next?? We just got home last night and we met up with Laura (RachelTori) at AK and took Scoopie with us. Just let me know

Well -- I haven't gone back and read all the posts that I have missed over the last couple of weeks, but I will try to give you a brief trip report from the last week at the world.

I should have known this was going to be a rough trip from the way things had gone leading up to leaving. To start off, my mom fell at DJ's band concert on the Thursday night before we left. I spent the whole day Friday running around. Then on Friday night we went down to the swim meet, which was a mistake. But I got up early on Saturday morning excited to be going. At 6 am, my mom went for the nightstand in DJ's room and missed it and fell. She cut her lip all the way through. So at 6:30 that morning, we were at the emergency room. First hospital we went to said it would take at least 4 hours before someone could see her. Left there and went to another hospital. We got out of there at 9:00 a.m., rushed home so everyone could get everything loaded up and we were on our way to the airport by 9:45 am. Rest of the day was uneventful and we arrived in Orlando at 8:45 p.m. Will continue on next post.

We stayed Saturday night at the Hawthorne Suites by the airport and got up early to go Animal Kingdom. We decided to go by OKW to see if the room was ready. Got there and they had planned to put us in a Grand Villa that did not have wheelchair access. Everything was booked. we were at the front desk for over an hour trying to figure out what to do. Well, finally they got it straightened out and told us we would be in building 63 at the front of the resort in a building that had an elevator. I am glad I held my ground. They had said they could put us in a 2 br and 1 1 br. I very politely stated that is not what I had reserved. They tried to put us up in a GV at either Saratoga or BWV, but they were booked solid as well. We finally got off to Animal Kingdom. Didn't seem crowded. Went on the Safari and it was excellent. Lots of animals out. MOre than we usually see in the summer. Got to see Festival of Lion King up close and personal and Ashley got chosen to make the Elephant Sound. Did a few more things at AK and by 3, my mom was pretty tired. COuldn't get into the room until 4:00. We were all blown away with how awesome the Grand Villa was. My brother and I went to the store and we just stayed in and ate dinner in the room that night. Some of us later went to the Extra Magic Hours at MGM on Sunday night. That was great, very little wait for anything.

We really like the nightime hours. Early mornings never worked for us. Too hard to get that many people up and moving early.

Yes, the driver brought us to the right port! We were on the ship early...by 11:30 ...took our own tour, ate a bite and are unpacking as the bags arrive.

It's a small ship, but doesn't seem too crowded yet, although it is totally full. It's pretty. Our room is......cozy, I guess is a good word for it, but nice.

Checking in later,
Stacey

That would be us!!

PM'd you with our address, Thanks for asking!! Can you get him here before Christmas??? :rotfl2:

WOW!! A TOP shared with Christmas, Scoopie, Monica and Pam!!! Yeah!!

Stacey and family, have a wonderful cruise how were the kids with it not being a Disny ship???

W havent been to WDW for a couple of years so the kids will enjoy it when we decide to take them again, we did it so much when we first moved to the US and family were coming and then when the kids were smaller so we decided to venture away from that for a couple of years but will have to plan a trip soon.

Slept and read all morning, Aubrey planned to loubge around all day today and relax but landed up finging his staff were working and had some issues so he was gone about 3.5 hours.

The girls are watching a little bit of TV now before hitting the sack. Santa's cookies are in the oven now. The girls are definitely excited.

We went to 4:00 Mass and had to stand the whole time - not easy on me. It was a tough one ... get there an hour early to get a seat and have a cranky 5 & 3 year old or wait until closer to Mass time and stand.

The pork tenderloin for dinner was very yummy. I have a feeling I'll be in the kitchen all day tomorrow. I hope it's worth it!

I forgot we are going to Mom for brunch tomorrow, luckily DH took DD to her cousin and my sister reminded him, I had totally forgotten, then off to the aquarium.

I got the blue bunny pepermint ice-cream yesterday and going to try it a little later, blue bunny is my favorite brand so I'm sure it will be good.

Had an uneventful day - actually got to leave work early. We opened our Christmas presents today - since I work tomorrow and Lauren didn't want to wait for me to come home to open them. Had a nice dinner of ham and all of the fixings. It was a nice time - considering it was Frances' birthday today - and she hates celebrating Christmas on her birthday. We went out to dinner on Friday and had a great time.

I hope that everybody is safe and warm and enjoying the company of friends and family.

Stacey - can't wait to hear about the cruise!

Merry Christmas!!!

Virgil, Frances, Lauren and Kristin..... I guess I better include Jason, too....
