Coming home from Vegas last weekend, I popped my head into the cockpit and told the pilot that I was just making sure we had the "best" pilot. He came right back with "Yep...just got my license today". :rotfl: That was reassuring!
Don't know if he was one of the best, but he WAS one of the best LOOKING I'd seen in a while. Jay asked him if his nickname was "Splash"....and I spoke before I thought (common for me) and said "No, it's Crash" ..... lucky they didn't send the Air Marshal after me! :sad2:

Stace - are you serious - during the flight you did this or before takeoff????

Yes, unfortunately, I did. My mouth works faster than my brain.
I said it just as we were getting on the plane....standing right at the cockpit talking to the pilot and a flight attendant. I think they only showed mercy on me because the kids were with us, and I look like your average, everyday Mom. I slapped my hand up to my mouth, with a look of sheer horror at what had slipped out. They just laughed. Thank goodness.

I checked the DCL site. Our cat 8 room is now almost $2500 more than what we paid for it! :crazy2: I'm glad we booked when we did!! :cool1:

Looks like some of the awards that we give out at our company Christmas party... we've got the "Stuck Truck" (just what the name implies), the "Golden Brick"(whoever does the most accidental damage to one of our handheld computers... can you say tractor trailer on I-4) , and the "Golden Turd"(don't ask... remember, I work with all beer guys), just to name a few. Believe me, our awards presentations are a whole lot more fun than the usual 'here's-your-plaque-polite-applause' speeches!!!!

Yea!! A TOP shared with Stacey's award, Tinksdad, and all my dysFUNctional co-workers!!

May as well just hand it over for the entire year. Much like Jim and his pot-sitting, I tend to do a lot of the foot-in-the-mouth thing.

Karen, did you get a new tag? I don't remember the Alcatraz one...

Very cool Karen! Where have you been that you found (or they found you) the Tag Fairy??
I got my two when I was hanging out at the Disneyland board.

The Tag Fairies don't come here......:sad1:

I still do not have a clue about these elusive tag fairies anyhow.

Hey - when did I become a Dis Vetern and what the heck did I post for my 2000 post - anyway to search for that? Why would I want to - no clue....

Must be here by myself. Time to go seek out nourishment and contribute the the profits of FPL (tree triming tonight - I'll count the strands).

Stay safe all you in snowland. It is raining here - hot(ish) above normal and very humid. Might need AC to decorate tree.....

I've been in and out. Stopped long enough to put dinner in the oven.

Going outside to add more decorations. Jay still hasn't put up the hard stuff, and I'm still not getting on the roof of my car to do it. He has this weekend before I resort to such measures.

HI everyone! I hope all is going well for everyone! I miss talking with yall! I am not going to even attempt to do catchup!

WOW It figures the one time I am actually around and available no one else is....

This is a cut-and-paste, as we're about to go to dinner, longer stuff later on.

Ok, here's the MUCH longer story.

Yesterday, we got to O'hare long before the snow. And as we waited for our plane the conditions took a very poor turn. They stopped all landings at O'hare at 4-something. I wish they had done the same at Midway.

We got by as our plane was already on the ground before the snow came in at all. Approximately 2 hours late we do finally take off ok and have a smooth flight.

We arrive here pick up our car and arrive at the DL Hotel. Now it's about 11:00pm, our internal clock is still on midwest time at 1am. We get up to our room, unpack and the fun begins. First of all, the internet connection is across the room from the desk. Oh, fun. The rest of the room layout is a little odd, but we get settled for the night until oh, 1am local, when the people in the next room decide to start up a wild party. Ok, this goes on for a bit, Mary goes out and tries to talk to them, they pointedly ignore the door. Ok, pick up the phone to call security only to discover it's dead. totally. push the buttons that should light up, nada. Ok, go down to front desk and read them the riot act. OK, they'll send up security and someone to fix the phone. Security shows up and we can hear the overloud people saying "its security- should we answer it?" Duh, they're gonna open the door anyhow if you don't, dummies. So it does go quiet for a bit and we do doze off,but it does continue at a subdued rate, but when the choice is to get dressed and go down again at 2am or just try to sleep thru we decide to get this straightened up in the later morning. We are so tired now nothing short of a nuclear blast was going to wake us once we finally dozed off.

Needless to say we are now in a different room altogether, this room is perfectly fine. This day has gone much nicer, we have met up with two friends, Cheryl & Todd and had a fun am in the park. We'll write a real trip report on that someplace and link it tonight, after the fantasmic buffet.

Stacey,
Are you still around? Are you about ready for your cruise?

Mentally, yes....physically, no. I have lists..but nothing packed.
I am excited though...and it really is feeling like Christmas this year! It's been cold!

:jumping1: The dessert buffet! I want to hear about every single morsel!
My non-cake/pie/candy eater (Jared) loves the fruit kabobs. I like ALL the rest of it.
So cool to sit up there and look down on New Orleans Square, knowing that Walt himself used to sit up there......
