Molly even loves you more if you serve her food on a bed of carpet!!!!

We had French Onion Soup on the cruise and decided it just did not taste the same without carpet fibers.

Yes, I bought my own Christmas present today. A Nikon D50 SLR digital camera, with two lenses. Looks like fun. I needed a new camera, and one of the dance Moms has this one. Takes amazingly good action shots!

Enjoy your new camera. Kevin takes lots of pictures of fish butts. Does that mean you will take lots of pictures of dancers....... Matt might enjoy those.

Not at all the timezone thing goofs me up all the time.

Due to the efforts of Stacy on the Member Cruise, here's the listing of when both will be on again.

For people without cable, I'll see about dvring it and you can computer watch it for real.

Were they worth watching? Did you learn anything new?

It also confuses him that FLA does not have sweet tea either. He think that is as south as you can get, yet you cant get sweet tea. At least not once we hit hit the fla state line on I 75 S.

That's because once you get that far south, the pouplation is totally made up of people who are from the north!

I like to call Sweet Tea "Diabetes in a Cup."

Loved this. I got a good giggle. It's all true, especially about the rush hour traffic! I think I'm a "bad" southern mom though. I haven't started my girls on sweet tea yet. It's definitely my drink of choice when going out to eat & not having an adult beverage. I even miss it when we go home to Louisiana.

Could someone please explain Amazon Prime to me? I thought it meant I would get free 2 day shipping meaning no shipping charges ever? I signed up for a free 3 month trial...I am not so sure I understand what the purpose of it it, as I am trying to place an order but it is still charging me shipping.

Amazon Prime ROCKS!
We've had it since March. It is free shipping on MOST things. It will say at the top of the product page if it qualifies. MOST things do. Things that are Toys R Us/Amazon do not qualify. There are other exceptions, but I'd say 95% of what we've bought since March has qualified.

The shipping is FAST. For example. I ordered a book for Nick in the morning on November 30th. According to tracking it should be delivered tomorrow....for free!

We used to put items in our amazon cart and they'd sit there for months until we found more things to add until it made it "worthwhile" to pay shipping. Now if there is something we want or need (nnnnnnneeeeeeddddd) we can get it. We also were able to ship Mike's mom the Mitford series to read during chemo....one book at a time as she needed it. I didn't have to pay $4-$5 each time to ship a $10 book. She'd email she was getting near the end, I'd log onto amazon and the book would be shipped and get there 2 days later.

I have Amazon Prime - and the thing I hate most about it is if you buy from an "associated" store (Toysrus, etc.) it doesn't count. It has to be from Amazon.com. I ordered Lauren a Fly pen top computer - and needed some more stuff for it - and when I ordered from Amazon it was actually from "Imaginarium.com" and I had to pay for shipping..... Oh well....

Amanda, I signed up for the Amazon Prime trial today too. I think you get the shipping free if you do the "one click" thing. At least, I hope so. If you use regular check out, you have to choose the super saver shipping.

Nope. Super saver shipping means that if you order it now, you'll have it in time for NEXT Christmas!

When you're a member of Amazon Prime it will automatically come up Two day shipping in your checkout. And you do NOT have to use "one click"....which is good b/c I will still put some things in my cart to think about them for awhile.

Up here the only kind of outright sweet tea that we find at the store has lemon in it, either Lipton or... Tradewinds(?). I don't really notice the lemon, but Mary sure does!

Here the have the "Southern Style" Lipton - extra sweet - no lemon.... I like the regular with no lemon - but Frances loves the extra sweet. My dad makes the best sweet tea.....

Longhorn, the steakhouse, serves sweet tea. The kids LOVE it! With a family history of diabetes, though, they aren't allowed to drink it all the time. They get it at Longhorn and on vacation...

which, come to think of it, we go to both of those a decent amount!

Actually was up from 3am. Was supposed to go plow, but the snow front is first coming thru about now, and it looks like it'll mostly fizzle. Even went to sleep early last night and everything.

Mark - thank you - that is lots of trouble, but if the show is that good, I will not say No......

Not as much as you think - I've been looking for an excuse to use my new portable dvr to record off tv, havn't used it for that yet. It should make a computer playable movie out of it. Looks like the next time both shows are on is Sunday.

The two shows are:

Holidays at WDW resort - this one does a lot of going behind the scenes into those fantastic displays at some of the WDW resorts, such as that massive gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian. 1 hr.

Behind the Bash, Disney's 50th - This one covers all the preparations Disney Catering went into a special event at Epcot for the 50th. 1/2 hr.

All this talk about sweet tea. Born and raised in NM, there wasn't much sweet tea. In fact, I've had it twice but don't like it.........too sweet!!

Wow... you guys were chatty last night... it was a 'cold' night here (50's), so, after the first WDW show on FoodTV, I parked myself in the hot tub and looked at all the pretty Christmas lights through the steam... no DIS'ing for me last night... my original intent was to do laundry (the real kind), but, Ray will now be washing-machine-shopping on his lunch hour today, and we'll have a memorial sevice for the old one later tonight.

The nice thing about this group is that we don't need some cheesy letter once a year to keep in touch. We know minute by minute what is going on with each other!!! Both the ups and the downs

Maybe we should all just print out the 1300+ pages of this thread and send it out with our Christmas cards this year... it should cover EVERYTHING!!!

I got my first Christmas card yesterday....it was from President and Mrs. Bush! Seriously.

We didn't get ours yet... and its always the first one we get every year. I don't think I sent George & Laura our change of address when we moved.

I still hadn't started shopping for Ray... now he's getting 1/2 of a new washing machine. (I'm getting the other half... we figure, between the cruise, the new dishwasher that we need, and now the washing machine that we MUST buy, that just about covers it. Neither of us can come up with anything we really want for Christmas anyway...)

I don't think I've EVER been to a place in FL that DOESN'T have sweet tea!!! It's the best way to kill the taste of awful FL water!!!

I order mine unsweet, then dump Splenda into it... definitely NOT the Southern thing to do, but then again, I'll always be a Connecticut Yankee in King Jeb's Court...

Well, now that I've made my monster post to catch up on the past 12 hours of blabbermouthing, I've got to go find something else to do... I can't sit here and listen to them pressure washing the outside of my office... it will drive me CRAZY!!!!!

I've found that the sweet tea I make in my iced tea maker using Splenda is just as good as with sugar and less messy. The Splenda disolves completely into the tea. The sugar always left a lot up with the tea bags in the filter.
