Hopefully they survived...... We listened to the game on Sirius while heading to the Marshall game (they lost...:().

They had a BLAST. Only a few problems....#1, U of M doesn't have any public parking! The Big House holds 107,000 and I guess they expect ppl to apparate into the stadium! They ended up parking in some lady's driveway. The price was $15 and you had to turn over your car keys in case she had to move the car. Mike gave her $20 and she wanted to know why he did that. He said "I'm from Ohio.....my car might need a little extra attention!" Problem #2 they had was that U of M crammed 111,000 into a stadium the size of the OSU Horseshoe which holds about 102,000. They were SHOEHORNED in there. Literally the ppl were squished in there, side to side, front to back. The #3 problem was that they had their OSU seat cushions and one time they left them to go to the bathroom.....when they came back, someone had spread out maize and blue Michigan rally towels on each of them. No one would admit to doing it. Mike folded them up (with the M logo on the inside) and put them on the bench! I told him he should have said (in a loud voice) "OH, this is WONDERFUL, Last time I went to the bathroom at this stadium there was no toilet paper.....at least now I have something I can use to wipe my butt!!!!"

That's it....minor problems. They spent the good part of the way home coming up with new words to the U of M fight song.....

They ended up with something like this---can't get the exact words b/c they are still sound asleep....

Hail to the stinky players,
Hail to the ugly cheerleaders.
Hail, Hail to Michigan the champions of the Trash.

there's more...can't remember it....

Good morning all! Family is all at Mass. I was going to attempt to go but didn't get up early enough to get myself & girls ready. I'm making more progress. On the last 2 morning, I helped cook the girls breakfast. Last night I helped prep food for dinner. So, things should be somewhat back to normal when my parents leave at the end of the week.

Congrat to OSU on the win yesterday. I thought of Mike & KT when I saw the game on yesterday afternoon. LSU had a big win last night! It was also nice to see GA Tech beat Miami last night.

Thought for sure I'd wake up this a.m. and y'all would have gotten to 20,000 last night. Are we slipping???

Amanda, good to see you around again. Try & make it a little more frequently. We miss you!!!

Sue, hope you feel better today. Just remember that all of those sore muscles were for a GREAT cause!

We had a blast yesterday at the DVC reception in Downtown Chicago. It was to celebrate the Magnificent Mile lights festival. Disney is involved every year. This year DVC came along for some of the fun. The reception was for two hours and included a Radio Disney DJ, some silly games, lots of prizes, snacks, etc. Even had an appearance by Chip, Dale, Mickey and Minnie. Worth a ride downtown for. We didn't stay for the lights festival - way too many people for our taste. Instead we came home and watched it on tv. :)

That reminds me of the Festival of Trees in Atlanta last year. It's a charity thing. There's a hall filled with decorated trees that are for sale. Disney had a section; although I'm not sure if their trees were for sale. Mickey & Stitch were there all dressed in their holiday outfits. The girls got to take pictures with them. It was lots of fun. We went because Emily's pre-k class had a tree on display.

I knew I shouldn't have looked. Someone has started a thread on the cruise critic board for the August '06 RCI cruise. Thanks, Ang, I am glad I don't have much vacuuming to do!

Sue

Good Morning all. Mass today and then shopping for Thanksgiving dinner.

A bit of a confession, I was very sick yesterday as I am severely sunburned from snorkeling at CC. More about that later.

So severe I thought of visiting Virgil's chums in Florida. I should know better - having been raised in Fl. The good news is that I had on a long sleeve shortie, so it is mostly the ankles, no skin showing - just red rash. We have bought out 2 stores with second skin...working on the 3rd. So yesterday night I was down for the count and did not finish catching up --- or the trip reports.

So, here goes before the fevor takes over again....

But first, almost finished Christmas shopping - NO WAY..... I have yet to start - ok, that is an exaggeration, but yet to start seriously. This year (again) we are promising to cut back....we will see. Found a few small gifts for cousins while on vacation. But need to wrap and mail to England.

Have not a clue for Sam. (Well, I do have clue but Jim and Kevin will have to help me out...)

Amanda - sorry - canot help you with TIVO - at the moment we are watching a TV with absoolutely no antanea, cable, dish or other assistance.

Hurricanes due that to you.

Best wishes for the islands who may receive the remaining rains of Gamma, but we are sooo glad it is not following Wilma's path. On our last evening the cruise director Brent?) told us privately he thought it was....What "cold-water" that hit us with......

Thanks for all the welcome backs. yes, I recalled Jim and Sharon were not on the Magic after I posted. Then I recall it was not the storm that heads the Magic away from Key West but the T-giving crowds. One of the bartenders in Diversions told us that they never go to Key West during T-giving. Apparently, the crowds are un-Disneylike and tend to "flash" the ship....

OK - where are we on the trip report - St. Maarten, I think.

We had rented a car....and somehow managed to leave the ship before the announced all ashore. We were in the rental car line when we heard the ship's horn blow....Smiles all around.

Sam drove (I drive for left-hand drive, he takes right hand.) Good thing too, as he is much better in traffic.

There are 2 lights on the entire island and no traffic stops it seems. And "rules of the road". I think that Italy has more. Tremendous traffic in the cities (villages) but we made a long loop around the island and were able to glimpse the way of life from the poor, average and upscale residents.

We found a wonderful french bakery in Grand Cruise, no English spoken, so we made do with my high school french. Bread, coffee and jam - and so yummy.

Then we (Sam) drove some more until we came to the National Refuge - the frigate birds were diving the salt flats and we watched their antics for a while. Continuing our loop we took a wrong turn and found - MR. Busby's on the beach - what a great spot. Fresh grilled lobster - Caribs for .75 American and a beautiful beach to look at. We wanted to stay longer, but (appropriately,) the traffic required a calm head and hand for Sam.

We wandered back towards town and then took the loop around the airport. that I could have missed. Very western, very built up.....

So, it was time to turn in the car and catch a few beers in port before boarding the ship.

The movie that night was Chicken Little - cute. A good diversion. Dinner, hum, dinner was back in Lumerieres.

The one BAD thing about diving is that I have to be good the night before so there was no wine with dinner and no drinks afterward. No champagne before dinner either.

They were checking for "pods" under the table...However, our table-mates said that such foolishness would not preclude them from enjoying themselves.

Do not read if you do not want to know.

It involves a new attraction coming in March 2006 --

or so they say.......

And anchoring it behind the second bar....Hideaway????

And since it is supposed to be a fully functioning ship, folk can then walk-aboard.....
