Stacey - Not sure what I am going to do. Usually I just book on board and get the air, transfers, hotel thru DCL. I used a TA for my Alaska trip and made the mistake of transfering the Jan '06 to her. Major mess with our air out to Vancouver(RCI was very helpful in straightening it out). I should have transfered to another TA. Hey, final payment is 11/14, maybe I will get lucky!

I usually book mine myself, then transfer them to Beth. I still make all of our flight arrangements and such myself. But she sure is handy for watching for upgrades and reminding me when my payments are due!

A mid-day thought for my cruise buddies.

TWO POTS

An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole, which she carried across her neck. One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.

At the end of the long walk from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.

For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.

After 2 years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream. "I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house."

The old woman smiled, "Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side?" "That's because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them."

"For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table. Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house."

Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding. You've just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.

SO, to all of my crackpot friends, have a great day ( and quit looking at 'perfect' pots with envy -- you is .... what you is, so be the best 'is' you can be!) and remember to smell the flowers on your side of the path...

"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away"

But if the woman would have alternated which side she carried the cracked pot on, she could have had beautiful flowers on BOTH sides of the path!!!

(Alright... too many grad school case studies back in the day have caused my brain to over-analyze everything...)

Unless she lived in Florida in an area with water restrictions and she could only water every "other day"....OK - too much work for me too.

Sir James: I couldn't have fit another body in the vehicle had Matt been there. He would have had a cheerleader on his lap. I doubt if he would have been much help in that instance. :earseek: But I'm sure he would have given it the old college try!!

And here I though Matt was in high school?????

Kiki, do you have an MBA? Makes me think of my grad school days.

Here's a What Would You DO? scenario. We are staying at Beach Club Villas for two nights when we first get to FL in May (22nd). Our purpose in this was to chill out for a couple of days, eat dinner at CA Grille (SUSHI), and enjoy the pool. Only problem, Expedition Everest will be open. It will be hard to be in WDW and NOT go see the new attraction. We love coasters. But a one day ticket to a theme park now costs $63 per person, and that's with no hopping! I guess we could do that and skip the fancy meal (Kevin doesn't like that option). We could always go to EE when we have APs again in another year or so. But we'll be right there! We have never gone to WDW and NOT gone to a park, though I hear people have done it.
Tough, tough decisions.

I have an MS in Business Education (which required most of the same courses and then some). Am I using it now... not really. But, I love my job, so I can't complain. I DO tend to spend a LOT of time 'educating' people here on how 'real marketing' works (as opposed to the old 'beer salesman' mentality that exists in this industry), so I guess I AM using it. The only reason I didn't get an MBA at the same time was that it required that I take another Quantitative Analysis course... one during my undergrad years was one too many...

And she better have been walking before daybreak, or she's getting FINED!!!

Diana -- good luck deciding on what do do about park tickets. I can't imagine being that close and not going to the parks. We are staying at BCV on 5/25 and thent at Radisson on 5/26. I also got my resveration all changed around this week to stay June 3-10 at BCV in a studio. We were going to do a 1 br and then stay off-site on the weekend nights, but since hubby is having to come home early, I thought it would be just easier to stay in one place the whole week. Of course, I love Beach CLub Villas!

Our annual passes expire on June 9, so we probably won't make a trip back for a while, especially since we will have had 3 trips in an 12-month span.

Diana, you know me....I couldn't be there and NOT go to the parks. BUT...that's a lot of $$ for only wanting to see one attraction. You KNOW you'll go again fairly soon. I don't think I'd spend the money on it in May.

I have enough trouble keeping my head on straight these days, and here you guys are, analyzing a nice story with a moral. Geesh. LOL
I guess I was only thinking that it was about the cracked pot, and not the flowers. I find myself thinking I'M that cracked pot all too often!

Crack Pot

Yeah, I guess $200 is a lot of money for a roller coaster ride. But we could ride it twice!

Pam, I love BCV too! Is it your home resort? We have points there and at OKW. We do like OKW, but I just love that Epcot location! The best was when we got to stay there during F&W, it was such a short stagger home!

And speaking of getting your money's worth from APs. If you look at our past trips in my signature, you'll see we are all about that! We got four trips out of the APs we bought in Sept. 2001, four trips out of the ones we bought in Oct. 2002 (included a two week trip), and FIVE trips out APs bought in August '04, including another two week trip. We're all about maximizing those DVC points, too!

We could do even better if we lived in FL! :rotfl:

Have a call in to my TA. Got the Disney Visa newsletter in the other day. There is an offer for a $75 onboard credit for '06 cruises that are booked by 12/05/05. When we booked, there was no offer. TA thought that if something came up we could still get the credit. I told her that I'm willing to pay my balance if I can get the credit. I'll let y'all know.

Ang

I got my newsletter today....it says you have to BOOK the cruise between November 1, 2005 and December 15, 2005 to get the credit. I doubt if they would let us use it for a cruise we've already booked....unless maybe we just booked one, after November 1.

Angie, if it doesn't work, think about booking another cruise while you're on the ship. You get an early booking discount (I'm thinking 15%?), an onboard credit ($200 I think). It's so popular that it's hard to catch the DCL rep to rebook without a line!

More info please - I did not get the newsletter and guess where we are going tomorro?

If you have the Disney Visa card, and you book a cruise between Nov 1 and December 15, you'll get a $75 onboard credit. If you booked onboard, that would give you $275 onboard credit. Cool. I think it said the cruise had to be sometime in 2006...it didn't say anything about '07, I don't think.

Okay...here....Offer valid for sailings between 9/2/06 and 12/9/06 (hurricane season) with the blackout date of 11/18/06. Entire balance must be paid on the Disney Visa (but it doesn't specify if it has to be all at once) and not combinable with other offers. Offer code "VFO"
