Always glad to provide diving information. Blue Springs is just west of I-4 in Orange City, about 25 minutes north of downtown Orlando. It is in Blue Springs State Park. There is no place on site to rent gear. You will need to rent it from a local dive shop and take it in.

This is a state run park so their rules are pretty tough about diving. No lights, only a certain number per day, be there when they open during manatee season just to make sure you get in. Last dive is at 5 PM.

If you want a dive instructor to take you the first time, let me know. Red will be glad to go with you and he may be able to provide your gear. Kevin has dove with Red. Nice guy.

Sounds good - just returned from Food and Wine - more about that later, trying to catch up on a few posts....Sam says he would like to try to 'open part" of the Springs, but I think I would lov to have Red along....We will do this sometime......Right now we are full speed ahead planning for the November Cruise.....

So...what's everybody doing today? The one day I get to stay home all day, and everyone disappears! :confused3

I still haven't studied up on the Treo...but I have the laundry going (the real kind) and have gotten a ton of little things done.
I made up a calender with the dates of the kid's activities and other instructions for while Jay and I are gone....looking forward to the days of just packing a bag and heading out the door!

We disappeared to Food and Wine and celebrating our Anniversary - Had a great time.....Festival of the Senses was as wonderful and extravagent as usual....Thought I would try to catch up before I posted.....I am not sure I will make it through the pages and pages of posts.

Must remember NOT to let the Scubas anywhere near any of my holiday decorations for fear of cancellation.

Poor kitty - at least she has a good home.....our two were so glad we came home to rescue them....

The kitchens are all super - make me want to do home improvements - NOT.

Must remember to post pumpkins for my new siggie pic.

OK - back to the boards...

IT IS GOOD TO BE HOME, BUT BETTER TO TRAVEL...

Kevin & Alicia will be back this afternoon, sounds like they had a great time. Kevin's new name, feel free to use it: Pop-pop.

For some reason, the rest of the song appeared in my head. You know..."Pop, Pop Fiz Fizz..."

Diana, that is great news about your nephew! Whew!
Sounds like Kevin and Alicia are having a good time!
Wow everyone must have been busy tonight.
It is soo quiet.
Where has Mrs Irene gotten off to?
I miss her sum it all up in one post.
I went out to dinner and a movie with my friends that are going to WDW with me.
We got our costumes for MNSSHP. We are going to be the muses from Herc.
We saw "THe exorcism of Emily Rose".
I am not a scary movie kinda girl
THis one was not as bad as it could have been.
But I had never heard of the story
They say it is based on a true story?
Does anyone remember?
We had italian for dinner and guess what?
Banfi was on their menu.
But they wanted $38 a bottle. No thanks.
I will buy a couple of bottles in a few days.
I hope everyone has a great Sunday!
We will be doing some seriuous cleaning around here.
The house needs it badly.

Hi Amanda - We have been at the Food and Wine - and not on the Dis...WE had lots of champagne - Fairy Tale, Sparkling at the Fesitval, Pop, Pommery and others that I will need the notes to 'splain....

Anyway - I am now back...

I wish Kevin would come home so we could hijack this thread back to something fun like diving. All the talk about kids, 504 plans, homework, motiviation, is depressing me.

I guess the good part is knowing that there are others having the same issues.

Now back to something fun, like a new dive light or maybe an Ipod Mini....:rotfl:

How about an Anniversary present......Sam surprised me with a camera case, a new wide angle lense and a light for my (yet to be tried) underwater camera!!!!!!

Wheee.....was I ever surprised......Yippeeee.....Brand name and other info to be posted later...

Irene's anniversary party will have to wait until she's back from partying at Food & Wine.

We've had a whole day of rain here, so unusual. Woke up to lightning this morning. Our thunderstorms with lightning are ALWAYS in the afternoon, so doubly unusual.

Kevin & Alicia will be back this afternoon, sounds like they had a great time. Kevin's new name, feel free to use it: Pop-pop.

  Thanks.....

We had fun :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

 :sunny: :cloud9: :love1: Happy Belated Anniversary Sam & Irene!

Just telling Kevin, I was reading a thread on the Restaurant board, something like "3 best things to try at Food & Wine". The discussion turned to Banfi, as discussions will, and someone posted that Trader Joe's has a Banfi knockoff called "Brachetto Sparkling Wine" that is quite decent for $5.99 a bottle. Who has a Trader Joe's that is willing to make the sacrifice and test this claim? We don't have one yet. Jim? Stacey?

What...??? You mean our Thursday night agenda didn't win for best anniversary celebration??? Let's see... I was getting my haircut, Ray, Elizabeth & Christopher were at football/cheer practice in the pouring rain, then we all came home and had pigs-in-a-blanket and canned baked beans... Happy 15th anniversary to us...:rotfl2: :rotfl2: .

Ray and I did have a belated anniversary dinner last night, sans kids. It was great!

Well, Kiki, if you had told us THAT. Surely a haircut is more exciting than Party of the Senses! NOT

Amanda, and anyone else going to F&W, they still have Coco Polada wine at the Florida booth. Have one for me, OK?

Still trying to figure out that ...thing....the Treo. Me and my bright ideas.... I may have to resort to reading the instructions. I think I heard Kevin say "Instructions...we don't need no stinkin' instructions!" ;)

Okay...outta here....if I figure it out, I'll post from the games!
That's the spirit!! Go where no man has gone before...... :crazy2: :duck:

Well, I didn't want to make you all jealous... :rotfl:

One trick we learned, take Dad to school for one of the meetings. For some reason, grumpy Dads intimidate most school personnel way more than Mom ever does (sorry Fran).

I resemble that remark, I'm sure of it........ :earseek:

Kevin & Jim - thought you would find this interesting. This is something I found on another thread. The poster was with us on the recent Member Cruise.
That IS interesting, thanks!

Food and Wine 2005 --- We started this year in FRANCE having parked at the Boardwalk. It was lightly sprinkling and near dusk. My hopes of a 7:00 start time were missed, slightly – so “let the feasting begin”. I had already selected the “reds” for the tasting….

France saw - Escargot Provencal with the Chateau Bonnet Bordeaux Rouge. As a rule DH and I shared an entrée but not a wine (surprising how that worked).

Then it was onto TURKEY for both the Bostana - cucumber and tomato salad with pomegranate sauce and the Circassian Chicken - chicken salad with ground hazelnuts. Yummy. I had the Yakut Red Wine before we approached INDIA for the Red Curry. This is in the running for the best of show. It would have been nice to have more curry, but we know that they do not spice things up at Epcot…(Remind me to tell you about the Asian Lobster at the Festival. Oh, yes the wine, Grover Vineyard's Cabernet-Shiraz.

Next came the UNITED STATES and the Cheddar Crab Cake with dried cranberry slaw, surprisingly good, paired with the Rancho Zabaca Zinfandel.
Need we guess what was next? Iron Horse Fairy Tale, 2 please! And the Festival Wine Wafer. OK that could have stayed in the box!

I waddled over to AUSTRALIA for Shrimp on the Barbie, a repeat entrée I missed in past years, along with Little Penguin Merlot.

By now, time has past and I am repast with enjoyable tastes. A piece of Flourless Chocolate Cake with Irish Whiskey Sauce was procured for the trip back to the Champagne Booth for another Fairy Tale, before the fireworks started.

Ah, food….glorious food…. Tomorrow is another day. :wave2:
