Good night everyone! See ya in a few hours! I will be up at 6am and RIP Peter Jennings :-(

:flower1: Good morning cruisers! :flower1:

Happy Monday!

Looks like the shuttle will have another day in space. Continued prayers for re-entry tomorrow morning.

Good luck to all the DIS kids that are starting school today. Have a great year!

RIP to Peter Jennings. Very sad. Hit very close to home as my mom died at 68 from Lung Cancer.

Of course she hasn't gotten any bigger around the middle, so clothes are hard to find. I did find her some nice pants at the Gap in a line called Long and Lean, plus a slim as well, with the buttons on the inside they can take in. I think those will work nicely. The skorts at Old Navy also came in slim sizes with the buttons around the waist to take them in.

Argh! Tell me about it!! KT also gained a few inches this last year and didn't get any fatter! It was near impossible to find her clothes. Those button things would be great, but we have to cinch them in so far that the waist band gets terribly puckered and not only does it *look* bad, KT goes into drama queen mode and writhes and yanks at them. After hours and hours at the mall, we did have a bit of luck at The Children's Place. And I'm hoping that the stuff from llbean and Lands' End will work out.

Jordan is claiming she needs new clothes, but she got some before the cruise and some before WDW....so she's out of luck. We do still have to go to school and buy her books and get a supply list.

Oh yeah, same with KT. Not until I mentioned something about new shoes did she start to complain about how TIGHT her shoes are and how much they hurt her toes and that she (insert whine here) NEEEEEEEEDDDDDDSSSSS them....NOW!

Ha! Tough luck. I felt her toe, she has room. Not until you complain without being asked will you get new shoes! ;)

I'm so mean!

Good Morning All - Lion King was terrific! I think it may have been the best Broadway Production I have ever seen.

Well, as you can tell, I'm back from the fishing trip (well, *I* didn't fish, I stayed with my mom) Mike and the gang caught 17 fish including several King Salmon (they are HUGE and fight like crazy for 1/2 an hour or so. We got home here around 11:30 last night. My neck is still bothering me. Mike has some virus, and he was hit by a Mack truck (aka King Salmon)

Going to do a little school today (KT is asking to) and then hit the Ohio State Fair. Deep Fried Twinkie, here I come.....

Good morning everyone. Sorry to hear we're losing people to the 11-day, but I'd probably choose that, too, if we didn't have to take DS out of school. The roofers have finally started on the house this morning, and they are driving my dogs crazy. :dog2: Nothing like having 2 barking dogs running around the house all day. Isn't it nice to have them 'protect' us like that? :dog: Best of luck to all of the kids heading back to school today. We have another 9 days to wait, and DS is NOT counting down the days (but I sure am). I'm ready to get back into my routine of exercising every day after he gets on the bus. I've got to be able to fit back into my clothes from our cruise last year, at least.

Sandy - I am having some landscaping work done today. My poor dogs will be barking, growling and pacing all day. I am taking Mom to 2 drs appts today so I will miss most of it.

I haven't heard of the Rock the Universe. Is it all Christian singers like the Night of Joy. I told my husband that after the kids are grown and gone, I would love to go to a Night of Joy. Mercy Me and Stephen Curtis Chapman are two of my favorite performers.

Yes- its at Universal... Michael W. Smith, Jars of Clay, Building 429, David Crowder, Day of Fire, Relient K, Third Day, Skillet, Pillar... lots of others... I would much rather go to Night of Joy... but it looks like we won't be doing either at this point... just not enough hours in the day. I have seen SCC before... I'd love to see him again, though.

My sympathies to all of the skinny girls! I was in that boat when I was younger. Plus, I had LONG legs too boot. If I found anything to fit in the waist, it was too short in the length. My parents had to travel to Baton Rouge to find me clothes. I'm glad that the Gap now has the pants that have the elastic & buttons in them. That's what I have to buy for Emily.

OM, I can't remember if I ordered slims for Emily from LLBean or Land's End last year ... think LLBean. They fit her so well. It was worth the extra $ & they held up well.

Sorry, I can't relate. I can remember my mom taking me to the 'chubby' girl's section to get my clothes when I was little. Anyone else remember when it used to be called 'chubby' before the 'plus sized' came along?

It may be too late.........................but can we be added to this meet?

As DH mentioned, we have been without a computer for over a week.......He failed to mention the meet to :guilty: If we can still be added, Dave and I, and our 2 kids would like to join. If it is too late....that's fine, I understand. :)

I must say.......the tile looks wonderful! :love2: to DH!!!!!!

Glad we can join back with this board!

Scubamom............you've got to help me figure this dinner thing out! They have now changed Kelly's schedule to 4:15 to 7:45 (M,T, TH, F) and 9-1 on Sat. How do you "do" dinner?????????

We would love to add you - KikiKaren is still iffy - waiting on "other things" like moving (come-on - WDW or moving???) We wish her luck, glad it is not me.

I'll add you today - to the Sunday lunch group.....We may need to have 2 tables at Rose and Crown for the group, but we can do the moving chairs, drinks with some folk, lunch with some, and the dessert with others....Must leave big tip.

Ok - back to post reading....

I would love to meet yall...Irene is in charge of the ressie...hopefully we can add yall...if not then we will have to schedule another mini meet! LOL
AMANDA - check your days - we've got two mini's going this weekend....I have you down for the Saturday, with Mark/Mary and Bear; Irene/Sam and Hedgie; Patty and family and Scoopie and you.

I think Tchrmom asked to be added to Sunday......with Scuba's possibly Karen and crew.

Pipe up folks if I have made this toooooo complicated. Mark/Mary and Patty can only do Sat. Thanks....

Good Monday Morning Cruisers

I have not had a chance to catch up on all the posts and just glanced at the clock - must go......

Anyway - good luck to all the back-to-schoolers - and shopping for cloths uniforms etc. Can't really join in the cheerleading, band, football, kid discussion so I sorta skimmed it....Same with the sisterhood---having no siblings, I have alsways been jealous. I wanted an older sister to take all the heat with my folks...selfish little brat that I was.

Must spend time on the November cruise - and have some cruise questions to post for the Scuba's later.

I'd love the special Sept cruise, but NO WAY can we count on leaving the house during H---- season......

RIP - Peter Jennings - and prayers for his family.

Pixie dust and prayers to the shuttle crew....Gotta run...

We do a lot of the kids shopping at llbean or lands' end just because I cannot STAND the styles that are out in the B&M stores. No offense to anyone who does allow it, but I won't put my kids in pants that has a word across the butt. Sorry, but I don't need anyone looking at her but at the tender age of 11!

For the last few years, lands' end has ONLY carried slims in two items....Khakis (which KT hates) and the jeans that look like they've been worn for 3 years and have flared legs (even if KT *did* like jeans, I'm not paying that kind of money for that kind of jean.

Luckily the girl likes dresses....only problem with those is that to get them long enough they are a bit big on the top.

My mom suggested this weekend that I should *make* her clothes!!! :rotfl2:

btw, i did contact their corporate offices last year and they both said the same thing.....there isn't a big enough market for slim clothes because so many kids these days are overweight. they both said "we do carry most of our styles in plus sizes if you'd like to check those out."

?????? HUH?

I call to complain about no slims and they refer me to their plus sizes???? :confused3

I remember the *girls* being called "cubby" but not the line of clothes.
Then there was "husky"....but I think that was a strickly boy term.
