Construction update:
Now our bedroom, that's a different story. Can't figure that one out yet. Any suggestions? Will be getting new bedding to match color. Decisions, decisions.

I wasn't sure from you post but this is my advice ... pick your paint AFTER you've picked your bedding!!! I made that mistake with both DDs' rooms. You would think that I would have learned after the 1st!!! It's hard to find bedding to match a specific wall color. Somehow I managed but not after having to shop forever and too much unneeded stress.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day planned. Ours will consist of a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese at noon - oh joy. Maybe we'll be able to hit the pool at the Y if the girls aren't too tired. Emily's lip is healing nicely so she should be ok to go to the pool. The dr. said to wait a week but it looks closed now. Any drs. out there say that this is a no-no to go this weekend? Tomorrow night will be 1 week since the accident.

Hopefully DH will give me some alone time to go furniture shopping. We've been living in this house for 6.5 years and still don't have a dining room set. Our breakfast set is a set that DH had before we got married that I can't stand but guess it does its purpose & it doesn't matter if the girls get paint, markers, etc. on it. Anyway, I want either a new breakfast or a dining room set. I went shopping for a breakfast set last week & showed DH the brochure. He said he thought we were buying a dining set instead. I figure that's the OK to go spend MONEY.

I'm still deciding what I want for our master bedroom. When we first moved in a sewed roman shades for our windows that matched a solid color duvet cover that we had at the time. Since then we bought a new quilt but the shades no longer match. I'm not crazy about the quilt - a little too country looking. I do know that I'd like to paint the room a purple & khaki - maybe one purple on the wall that the headboard goes on & the other 3 walls khaki. Now I've just got to find a new comforter or quilt that I REALLY like. I've been looking but having found anything yet. I'm holding off on the painting until I find the perfect comforter or quilt.

Oh, the kitchen sink. Any of you out there have suggestions for the kitchen sink? I have a 30" sink cabinet. Probably going with a single sink, undermounted to the granite. Stainless steel. Now I'm only 5' tall, I'm thinking about the 10" deep sink. Too deep? Not deep enough? Lay it on me. I need all the help I can get.

Sounds like things are progressing nicely. As long as your plumber doesn't give out!!

Most kitchen sinks are 33"x 22" and require a 36" base cabinet. A 30" cabinet won't give much more than a single sink. Is that really enough??

I really like the undermount sinks if you are using a solid surface like granite. Makes it easy to clean up since there is no lip! Plus they just look nicer. Elkay makes quite a variety of stainless steel sinks that you might like. The standard is 7 1/2" - 8" deep, but with only a single I'd go for the 10" deep bowl. Would make it easy to wash bigger pots, small children, etc......

Good Morning, everyone!! Up and out this a.m. Soccer registration for Jared, and then office work. Oh boy!

Maria....think hard about a stainless sink....we had one and I took it out. It made me crazy wiping every little drop of water out of it all the time. Makes me wonder why they call it "stainless".

When we remodeled, I bought tons of decorating magazines for ideas, and for the bedding I looked at online sites until I had an idea of what I wanted to go with. Saved a lot of leg work....and gasoline.

The birthday boy is off doing his duties, taking the daughter to dance and then taking his Dad to see his Mom. She's in a long term care facility, but might be able to go home if they can get home care arranged.

We're planning dinner at Papadeux (I think that's how it's spelled) and then a Sneak Preview of "Must Love Dogs". I know, not a real macho movie, but we've already seen most of those! He doesn't mind going to the occasional chick flick with us, besides, it looks funny. Review later tonight!

I'd tell you that I'd be nice to you all day because it's your birthday, but that wouldn't be any fun...

Spent the morning at football/cheer physicals and equipment handouts... oh... joy... its football season again. (Don't get me wrong... I love football... its just that it creates such upheaval in our house for 3 months.)

Just gave up on trying to get the house any cleaner before tomorrow's Open House. It had better sell soon... I'm not very patient.

The bracelets are great... I just saw some lime green ones the other day for ALS... pretty cool.

Like Diana mentioned, it was good, just not something I'd let anyone under 18yo watch!!


Our company did all the trim work in the Pappadeaux here. It was pretty interesting, except for the DS running the job from their company.

Good food anyway!
